All very good however the battery doesn’t last long enough, I live in a hilly area and would have ordered a bigger battery

Install was fairly straight-forward with the website instruction help. (Our axle needed some filing down.) I have figured out how to use Swytch, but why don't you provide written instructions for use? Seeing the people riding around on videos is not very helpful in determining what the settings for the unit should be in different conditions and the proper use of the toggle switch.

The system is competitively priced and delivery times are falling. Mine arrived in about 2 weeks. Dont expect this to remove the strain altogether though. The range is a best case scenario based on you pedalling too. i think it is worth it, but I can see how the advertising has led others to expect more.

Very Happy with my Swytch Bike Kit. Working well. Make sure to go with the super charge battery.

It is cheap compared to buying a purpose made electric bike and far less wasteful, and has really improved my ability to tackle the steep Cornish hills, having moved to Cornwall last year with Long Covid symptoms I did not enough energy to get up the hills! I love the cycling experience of using my Swytch bike, and only turn it on for going up steep hills, or if I have got a heavy load of shopping to bring home. The battery life is not very long if I put it on the highest setting of 5, but as my personal fitness has improved, I can go up steep hills on settings 3 or 4. I bought an extra battery as I had heard that this was the case, and glad that I did so. IT NOT EASY TO FIT - it did not live up the advertising hype, I had to take it to the local bike shop twice. It is really fiddly and the email support to my queries was not much use as it kept on referring me to pages in the manual rather than actually understanding my question and attempting to answer it. However persistence and Youtube videos made by previous owners enabled me to succeed. Because the wheel with sensors attached to the pedal arm is not encased after going through muddy puddles or mud (I have a mountain bike), the power input can become erratic (a jerky on/off motion) or cease to function. This means taking plenty of tissues and/or a rag with me to clean it thoroughly and dry it off. The winter months and a rural location means muddy flooded roads are unavoidable. I bought a throttle as an extra item and am very pleased with it: it enables me to get moving if I stop on a steep hill or need to start from stationary at the bottom of a hill and/or have a lot of weight on the back. It uses a huge amount of battery power so I only use it sparingly. The control display is not easy to use and I often have to stop pedalling to change power settings, and this has not really improved with experience. Still need to discover how change from kms to mph. It took 4 months to be delivered and that only happened after paying for the whole thing up front. That was not counting the several weeks of being on the waiting list before I could give my detailed order and pay in advance. The quality of the components appears to be excellent and one of the reason for choosing this rather than cheaper (and non-UK) manufacturers was the feedback from three bike shops whom I consulted. They all said the same thing: Swytch bikes do not often come in for repairs, parts ordering is quick and reliable and they are easy to work on and are made very well; they all said the cheaper models (mostly from China) were often in for repair, with parts often unavailable and very expensive, and difficult to work on, one shop told me that they would have to send a technician to China to receive the training required, which for a small independent business is totally unrealistic and expensive. It is good to be able to buy a good product from an innovative British company.

very slow delivery. But once it arrive it has been a dream. The key for me has been the quality of build and the easy of install.

This is not only a really good product, it is also very simple to install. When you install it you realize that you have bought a quality product. In our case we bought the small battary, which turns out to be too small. But the electric motor is super powerfull and you upgrade your bike in a massive way

Easy conversation. Solid performance. Extra batteries far too expensive. And a definite necessity as the range is rather limited with 1 battery.

Affordable PAS that is easy to use including charging and maintenance. Customer service is via a tough email process and is not all that efficient in my eyes but eventually gets the job done Biggest frustration for me is that even though the battery indicator shows 2 bars, often the led display starts flashing and cuts off power!! Usually a restart helps but this is a bummer since it makes you feel you need to manage power too soon

It's an inexpensive alternative to a stand-alone electric bike. Mine and my wife's work very well. Three minor issues: even at the lowest assist level, they go pretty fast and you spend a lot of the ride coasting. The pedal sensor system is cumbersome, and I found a third party all-in-one sensor which mounts on the crank to be much easier to install and use. And the range isn't as good as I'd like. Otherwise, great product.

I love the idea of Swytch but the reality with my bike wasn’t great. I have a lightweight aluminium road bike with narrow forks and a chunky frame, fitting the Swytch kit proved extremely challenging and time consuming. I had lots of support for which I thank Swytch however I was unable to fit pedal sensors so was offered a throttle which is good but illegal on public roads and really isn’t what I wanted. I also had to fit a handlebar extender. Yes my bike is fast, on private roads, but it’s now very heavy and not as much fun to use

Works great to boost me up hills, then can turn off for normal terrain.

I have a Swytch Gen 3 and Max battery that I am very happy with. I was glad that I took time to investigate thoroughly first, reading through a lot of the facebook feedback before I purchased my kit. As a result, I paid the extra £40 and chose the OLED display because it enables me to go up and down in power level settings (e.g. 0, 1, 0, 1, 2,1,0), whereas, the standard controller requires you to go right up to level 5 before you can switch down to 0, 1, 2, etc.; consequently, I minimise my power usage to the extent that i often ride almost 30 miles and am still on level 3 or 2 battery when I finish/ The only change I would make is to the display, where I would increase the size of the power level characters and introduce a positive click on the power up and down buttons as it is not easy to see which power level you have selected, particularly in sunlight.

The product itself is great and I like that I can vary the power level to increase or decrease the drive. Great if you’ve not cycled for a while to help develop your fitness. Not so great is the customer support - parts did not come with the initial shipment, so the hub was unusable. I was supposed to receive a refund for the battery frame bracket which was never shipped. I never got my money back.

It’s very good for assistance on hills and in Edinburgh it helps so much having this small boost of power.

Has added enjoyment to my rides. Couple of negatives however, first it lacks hill power and is also fairly limited in range to about 8 miles.

+ points. Thoroughly enjoying experience. Given old bike and old legs a new lease of life. - points. Late delivery. Ordered led display as extra but expected to also get basic display so would have choice.

Relatively easy to fit. My bike is now too heavy to use without assistance though. If you are thinking of getting an extra battery later order with initial order as it is £40 delivery. I found finding my way around the ordering a little testing. Items were changed with my order with no mention beforehand. Overall it’s a great piece of kit.

A long wait for the kit but relatively easy to attach to my ordinary bike It all works ok and I have the max battery but the range on it is nothing like the advertised 39k even with light assistance. So I need another max battery to have any sort of practical ride-I am in London. Having said all that it is a great idea and I don’t think any battery does what is advertised

On the negative side, I find the battery doesn’t last as long as I’d expected, and the lights on the battery do not match the indicator on the display. The thumb throttle design makes it impossible to install on my bicycle. It interferes with the gear shifter. That said, I love it! Until the onset of winter made it impossible to continue, I found myself riding every day, a significant accomplishment for me. I look forward to warmer weather to get back out on it!
