In the evening I ordered an l bracket for a Nikon Z6 and paid for next day delivery. The next morning I received an email saying it would arrive three days later. I rang them, they checked the order, confirmed that they’d made a mistake, and corrected the order as the parcel was still in the shop. It arrived next day, and well packaged. They shouldn’t have made a mistake, but the chap I spoke to was very polite, he admitted that they’d made a mistake, and sorted it out within a few minutes. I would order from them again.

I ordered a tele-extender on the website, that said it fitted the EF lenses, it arrived a day earlier than expected, when I tried it on my lens it would not fit. so I took it to the shop in Burnley, where I explained the problem, and the gentleman there said it would only fit the EF lenses, and as mine are the EF-S this is the reason it would not fit, so he gave me a refund, which was efficiently done. perhaps the website could be a bit more specific about exactly which items will go together.

Camera and lens were in extremely good condition and the sale was handled expertly. Would have been 10, but I had to provide my own mains cable for the battery charger as the one provided was faulty. Also the USB cable sent with my Nikon d7000 was actually for a lumix camera, so again useless. Apart from those two points, everything else excellent.

I ordered a used DSLR camera body from the Chester shop. The parcel arrived (a day late - received refund of next-day fee) with no camera in the box, when I rang to raise the issue I was left feeling that it was obviously either down to me or the parcel company. When they called back to tell me that 'I was correct' I obviously wasn't very happy - I said I knew I was correct, I opened the damned empty box. They then sent the camera body by Special Delivery, sorted. I was told that the office manager was looking into the cock-up, I was expecting a call with an apology and explanation, but hey you can't have everything.

Received goods as promised, easy to deal with and favourable price. Only reason for 4 stars is the added £9.95 carriage charge for my address in Inverness which is part of Parcelforce's main hub. And, having dealt with a Parcelforce account before for a UK mail order business I know they don't charge extra!

Good afternoon Paul, I don’t know if you have seen our reply to your email dated April 1st. If so then apologies as the below does repeat most of the information contained within that email.   As taken from our delivery information page; unfortunately, we are unable to offer free delivery to UK island locations, Northern Ireland or the Scottish Highlands. The free delivery and Next Working Day delivery options we provide for Mainland UK are already heavily subsidised to provide low cost options for our customers. It costs us more to post items to Highland and Island locations so we are unable to offer the same options. But, we have subsidised these as well in order to try to keep the costs low for customers in these areas too.   The locations we deem to be within the Scottish Highlands are set by the postcodes provided to us by our main courier, DPD. However, we do find that ParcelForce and DPD have very similar definitions and your postcode is deemed by ParcelForce to be Zone 2. Zone 2 postcodes incur surcharges, which is reflected in the prices calculated on the website.     Our postage calculator on the website takes your postcode into account and cross references this with postcodes supplied by the couriers to work out whether your address is within an area with a surcharge. It also takes into account the size and weight of an item – for example whether it is heavy or bulky as with your order. I hope the very favourable price for the item purchased and the in-stock position softened the blow of having to pay a little extra due to your location. Thank you for shopping with us. Regards, Alex | Wilkinson Cameras

I really like that the package was packed without any unnecessary plastics and is recyclable. The only thing that I would recommend is to use smaller boxes. I ordered one small thing and the package was unnecessarily big. Otherwise I really liked how fast it arrived, communication and the order in general. Thank you!

They have a good website and they hold a reasonable amount of stock and are quick to dispatch purcheses. There are a number of photgraphic equipment suppliers online and I could have probably found what I needed cheaper elsewhere, however unlike many, Wilkinson also have highstreet shops, and whilst they are closed at this time the fact there is a physical place I can go to in case of service/warrany issues or just to ask for advice is one reason why I use them. They also sell genuine producs being an offical dealer for many brands. There are no worries about dark imports which may cause issues.

Only 4 stars as the packaging was too much. Too much plastic and the box it came in was disproportionately big. I think Wilkinson Cameras could minimise their waste by a lot. Product is great though and it was delivered very quickly.

Hi David, Thank you for the feedback. Almost all of the packaging we use is packaging we have received our own stock deliveries in. This includes cardboard boxes, packing chips, paper wrap, bubble wrap and air-bag void fillers. It means we sometimes need to use the box size we have available at the time. We re-use these items so that they don't simply get used once and then disposed of. During busy periods we supplement this supply by buying in recycled cardboard boxes. The items we stock come in a myriad of sizes and shapes, but for ease and cost efficiencies we only stock a selection of box sizes. By doing this, not only do we ensure that we recycle as much packaging as we possibly can, but it also helps to keep our costs as low as possible in order to continue offering a free post & packaging option. Any cardboard we receive which is simply too large to be used for customer parcels is either re-purposed or put into our paper recycling container for collection from a local recycling company. Hopefully your local authority will allow you to easily recycle the cardboard box and its contents or perhaps you will be able to reuse the items for any of your own parcels in the future. I hope this sets your mind at ease and that you will consider shopping with us again in the future. Regards, Alex | Wilkinson Cameras
