Charged a 10% restocking fee when I wanted to return a product. The reasons for this charge: I found it cheaper elsewhere.... Ridiculous

I bought a camera from bury store 2 months ago and it stopped working the staff insisted that i had dropped or misused it said they would send back to sony but i was wasting my time . I will NEVER darken there door again as the staff were very unhelpful . This is the third camera i have bought from them but never again . I never dropped or misused the camera . and over the passed 10 years have spent in the region of £4000 .

Good afternoon, I have reviewed the information we have in order to investigate your complaint. You came in to the Bury store today with your Sony WX500. The lens on your camera had suffered damage which is consistent with a bang or a knock during use, which is why it appears to be at an angle. It is a most unusual fault to develop without some form of impact damage, which is why you were advised that any type of misuse or accidental damage is not covered by the Sony warranty. It is important to warn you of this upfront so you are aware of the potential outcome of any warranty investigation by Sony, particularly as there may be costs incurred where a fault is deemed to have be caused by damage or misuse, as opposed to a manufacturing fault. At this point, I have been informed that you told us you didn't wish to proceed and that we should throw the camera in the bin. You then left the shop leaving the camera, complete with memory card, in our possession. Of course, we haven't thrown this in the bin and it will be stored safely, in case you change your mind and wish to proceed with any further investigations, whether that be under warranty with Sony or a repair estimate. It may be that even if Sony declare that any repairs are not covered by the warranty that it is cost effective to repair the camera, rather than replace it. I hope my response has cleared things up for you. The team at the Bury store would love to help you find a resolution that gets you out taking pictures again with your WX500. We will keep hold of the camera until December 31st 2017 whilst we await your decision. After this date, it will be disposed of accordingly. I have also sent a copy of this reply to the email address used when purchasing the camera. I have been to your store in Bury many times and I must say I am a lot happier when I leave. I have bought Cameras and other equipment from Jessops stores in Manchester, Leeds and Bury .( Bury is closed now.) I find that the Jessops staff are a lot more friendly and it is a pleasure to shop there. The only reason I have bought things from Wilkinsons is if I see a bargain or second hand items I may want . Both the staff at Bury appear to be looking at their noses at people and appear a little snobby, which is something I detest when I go into a store. I don't like writing a review like this but I'm afraid it had to be done. V.P Clegg

I was recommended to buy my new camera from Wilkinsons and they did not disappoint. The service was prompt and efficient, very professional. I am delighted with how quickly the package arrived and the camera is working well. I am a novice with this new camera but enjoying it enormously. Thank you.

Parcel arrived late again, Parcelforce and DPD are unreliable, phoned on day when it did not turn up, and was told in a condescending manner it can take a day for a response, customer service is poor in this regard. As this company don't use Royal Mail, and second bad experience with Wilkinson Cameras, I will not order again from them, better photographic companies out there that use Royal Mail next day.

Good afternoon, We cover all our delivery information on our website: https://www.wilkinson.co.uk/delivery-information You placed your orders with us on the 27th November & 30th November for two items that are both Special Order items, for which we quote a period of 8-10 working days for the item to be dispatched. We actually found ourselves in the position that we could dispatch these goods on the Friday 1st December. Given that one of the items purchased was done so using Novuna Finance this meant that we had to send your items using a ParcelForce tracked service, as per our terms. Your parcel was shown as being out for delivery on Monday 4th December but unfortunately the delivery was not completed due to adverse weather conditions. Given the weather that much of the country had experienced in the days leading up to this delivery attempt this may not have come as a great surprise. The area that delivery drivers cover can be large and just because the weather in your exact location is not adverse does not mean that the driver will not be affected or delayed elsewhere on his route. The safety of the driver is paramount and I’m sure you would not want any driver to take unnecessary risks which may put them at risk of injury. I’m sorry ParcelForce let you down on this occasion. Unfortunately, there can be unforeseen delays with any courier that are beyond our control. However, we did liaise with ParcelForce to rearrange the delivery as quickly as possible for you. We can see that from the ParcelForce tracking system that you have now taken delivery of your parcel. It’s fantastic to see that your Special Order items arrived within just 6 working days rather than the 8-10 working days specified for this type of product so we hope you loved being able to use the items a little earlier than originally promised. We seem to be in a world of cheaper imports with somewhat questionable warranties & sometimes import duties to pay, this is not for me. I have dealt with Wilkinson Cameras for a good few years buying cameras, lenses accessories ect both on line & in store all staff are very knowledgeable & extremely helpful letting you try out a camera body with your own lenses or a lens with your own body. my latest purchase was a Fujifilm X100F & Wilkinsons were the best deal of all UK sellers by including a genuine Fuji leather case, ordered Sunday & it arrived Tuesday , the girl i dealt on the phone with was working from home due to this horrible situation we are in at the moment & was most helpful & profesional. Thanks to all at Wilkinson Cameras.

I buy all my gear from Wilkinson and have always had first class service. The team are very knowledgable and always willing to help with any questions or concerns. The Liverpool store in particular is a pleasure to visit and it would be remiss of me not to mention Joe and Liz, who stand out even amongst a sea of superstars. Loving my pair of A7riv’s by the way :-)

Ordered on line after speaking to them as i wanted a live stock check as let down by another retailer, they had stock of the items i wanted, I was delt with very well professionaly on the phone, items shipped with next day delivery....Fantastic 5 * Service... I would highly recommend this company, I will certainly be going back for my next addition for my camera. Many thanks Paul D

Sara at Southport today solved a problem that I had with my Nikon D7200 - she explained on the telephone how to put the battery cover back after I had e mailed her photographs. She confirmed that her diagnosis was right by using shop stock to see that her solution worked. She sets a very high standard of customer care. Thanks Sara ! You sorted the problem in less than 10 minutes.

I ordered a Panasonic g80 body and a 14-140 lens late on Saturday and they was delivered at 10 am on Tuesday. EXCELLENT as I had opted for the free delivery. The delivery was carried out by DPD, who were also excellent keeping me informed by email and giving me a 1 hour delivery window which they kept to. I'm very happy with the camera and can highly recommend both the G80 camera and wilkinson cameras, l would defiantly use this retailer again

I received excellent advice on bridge cameras in the shop and then bought one on my next visit after researching them on the internet. I am very pleased with the camera and the quality of the wild life pictures.

I have only used Wilkinson Cameras once so far, but I certainly will again in the future. I ordered a lens for my E-Mount camera over the festive holiday period, the transaction was perfect and the item was dispatched as promised. Unfortunately the courier service on this occasion was not up to their usual standard (DPD) and the delivery was slightly delayed. Obviously this was not the fault of Wilkinson Cameras, but I was very impressed with their customer service in dealing with the issue. After emailing my concern, a short time later, I actually received a phone call from Wilkinson, apologising for the late delivery and updating me on the service. I do believe that this type of personal touch goes a long way and in this day and age, where email communication always seems to take priority, should be recognised and commended. I did receive my lens and I am very happy with the product. However it is Wilkinson's service I will be returning for in the future. Products can be sourced in multiple places, but excellent service is harder to come by.

I ordered a lens which was delivered very quickly - just over 24 hours from ordering; all the more impressive considering that it was a few days before Christmas. The ordering process was simple and straightforward.

I bought a Panasonic 12-35 mm lens at a great price from Wilkinson cameras . The lens was delivered earlier than expected very well packaged and exactly as described, brilliant service ! I would recommend without hesitation .Alex

The manager at the Burnley store is a most miserable, unhelpful man but the big man and the little man[don't know their names] are superb and very helpful indeed and it is always a pleasure to speak to them.

I have visited the Southport shop a few times and always found all the staff superb in both their help and knowledge Adam in particular has been a great help to me honest, courteous and very up to date with what’s new I would not go anywhere else I have bought 2 cameras recently a Nikon p900 and a Panasonic fz330 each time I have had an in-depth demonstration of the product before I bought with both good and bad points explained keep it up team

Product knowledge - very poor at best (my 8 year old daughter knew more about the camera than the manager), customer relations... terrible!!!!! Really unimaginable attitude from the store "manager". Disappointed at his childish behaviour which i also have on video & will be posted on youtube!! Nowhere else for this childish idiot to go but the cold stark truth of his stupidity...
