Dropped into Wilkinson Cameras in Preston to look at a new Telephoto lens for my Panasonic camera and they were very helpful. As well as looking at the lens they had a body with fully charged battery that I could attach it to and use to evaluate the it. The staff member assisting me let me take the system out into the mall where the shop is situated to test the lens and would, he said, have let me take it out at the back of the shop to use in day light but unfortunately it was raining heavily. However I decided to purchase the lens and got a good price for such a new product and a new UV filter to fit the lens as well. I can say that I am very pleased with the new lens and the service and help that I received from the shop staff, who could not do more to help assist me with my purchase, and yet at no time did I feel under any undue pressure to make a purchase. All in all a very good buying experience.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Didn't feel rushed whilst handling cameras and lenses. Will certainly shop at Wilkinson's again for any more camera equipment.

I cannot comment fully as have only used the camera on automatic. I need to get the hang of the settings to get better results. However, I am pleased, mostly, with my results on auto mode.

A bit long-winded in getting a lens posted from the Preston branch via the main branch, but got there in the end and am pleased with the product. I would deal with them again.

I bought a Panasonic TZ70 Lumix Leica camera, although the sales person was very helpful, I did need a camera that would produce the date to appear on the photograph. The sales person did set the camera for me including the date but it seems you are unable to add the date to the actual photograph. I have had several people look at the camera and also visited a forum and it seems it is not possible to do this even thought the instructions say you can. Therefore the camera is not much use for my work as purchased.

Hi, http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z582a1085z3z3b71bz656ez706466z23z7117a3ed54bbbe83ae434b62c84781bf2737b127/tsn3/data/ALL/DMCTZ70EB/OI/928758/sqw0206.pdf You can use the link above to download the full manual for the TZ70 camera. On page 154 it tells you how to set the time stamp on your pictures. It can be used in most modes, but this excludes iA (Intelligent Auto), Panorama and scene modes. (These modes are "greyed out" in the instruction manual to show this.) In order to have the camera choose the best shooting settings for you and have the date stamp please follow the instructions to set the date stamp and use mode "P" by turning your mode dial on the top of the camera to this letter. P or Program mode is where the camera will detect the best settings for you, including aperture, shutter speed and ISO (sensitivity to light) but allows you more control should you wish. It may disable additional features such as face recognition but shouldn't impair your images in any way compared to iA mode. It just "unlocks" some more advanced settings and in your case would allow you to add the date stamp to your pictures. We would be happy to set this up in your local store for you. If you would like to visit a store please email support@wilkinson.co.uk referencing this review reply and we'll let the store know you're coming in. If you need any more help of advice you can email us or call your local store. Thanks, Alex - Wilkinson Cameras

We waited a while for a salesman to notice we needed help, as we were looking at the camera display and discussing the various makes and prices, but once Paul came to assist us we were happy with his help and advice. And we are happy with our purchase, as it is a Christmas present I have not had time to try it out yet.

I would give the service and the friendly staff a firm recommendation to anyone - there is no pressure in choosing the right equipment that is right for you, which is more than I could say for some stores that I could mention..

Best price online, not the fastest despatch time in the world, but not bad. Product excellent, smooth transaction, nicely packaged, no fuss.

Camera (Panasonic TZ70) is great. I was very surprised a couple of days later when I found I could have got the same camera direct from Panasonic for £30 less than I paid in your store.

I find your staff to be helpful and to have a good understanding of your products. The main problem I have with the Kendal shop (which is the nearest to me and why I did not give you a higher rating) is that it is small so the range you carry in store is limited. I had hoped this year to overcome this by going to the event your hosted in Liverpool. Although I enjoyed it, I was not able to make the purchases I needed to as the individual displays were understaffed (in my view) and it was difficult to get time with someone to discuss the options.

Very good help and service. I have purchased three secondhand film cameras recently. Unfortunately one was faulty but I got a full refund with no problems. The other two film cameras are in good working order despite being twenty or thirty years old. I have also purchased two secondhand lenses recently of a similar vintage which I am very pleased with.

The manager at the Burnley store is a most miserable, unhelpful man but the big man and the little man[don't know their names] are superb and very helpful indeed and it is always a pleasure to speak to them.
