I guess I should have done my research before hand but was pushed for time. Asked for three tyres up to £60 each. At no point did the man behind the desk mention fitting, balancing and VAT. Who quotes the public the price excluding VAT? Ended up paying £260 for the three tyres. Absolute rip off. Get away with what they can I suppose. Customer service non existent. No advice, no transparency. Never again.

Wheel nuts were not tightened up at all on one of my wheels having had replaced the 2 front tyres. Wheel was making a weird noise whilst driving, checked and all 5 wheel nuts were loose on the front right. It is really dangerous so should be checked properly prior to dispatching the vehicle.

I have used these guys many times in the past and they have been good. I went in today for a puncture repair and found my front bumper with a scuff. The store just fobbed me off saying it was not their fault, very disappointing.

Great when everything works but not when they are so heavy handed they snap your locking socket and crack the nut on the alloy. They will keep quiet and let you leave so you don't notice until you get home. Then they will claim this happens all the time and they cant take any responsibility or even help with removing the nut they broke. This is dangerous as a customer likely wouldn't notice until they need to replace a tire or have a puncture and are then out of luck and left stuck. There is no way they did this damage and didn't notice at the time. I am now stuck with a wheel I cant remove and looking for a company with better tools and staff to fix the mess Watling have left me in.

Customer service is painfully bad. They are abrupt and unfriendly. And quite unprofessional. My first visit I gave the benefit of the doubt, everyone has a bad day. But it seems to be consistent trait of the Gravesend, Pelham Rd Branch. I won’t be back.

ABSOLUTELY APPALLING ASHFORD BRANCH My daughter was there today to have her exhaust looked at and a strange knocking noise coming from underneath the car, initially they said there could see nothing wrong, my daughter then advised them to take the car out for a drive, this confirmed the awful noise and gave them some indication as to where the noise was coming from, they subsequently repaired a spring and also fitted a new exhaust. My daughter got 1/2 mile down the road and the car would not move she was left blocking a lane on a major round-about, after many attempts she eventually got back through to the branch and they wasn't sure what they could do, they did send someone out to my daughter, he got in the car and started it up and said there is nothing wrong with it, my daughter then went on to say, "put it in gear and try and move it" , the young chap did this and promptly said the clutch cable has gone and there was nothing he could do, he then got back in his vehicle and left her blocking the lane, very upset and anxious about what to do next, I advised her to call the RAC they said she would have to call the police to have the car moved from the roundabout, I left work and drove to her not wanting to take up valuable police time, we were able to push the car to the nearest lay-by and ring the RAC for their assistance. I then went back to the branch I was extremely angry that the lack of common decency from the young lad who visited her, the manager said to me "the car would not move" , I informed him that the car does move because I have just driven 15 miles to be with my daughter and push the car to a near by layby, I am disgusted at the lack of common decency and how does he feel it's ok to leave a young girl stranded on a round about and not even offer to push the car to one side. It all seems very odd to me that only half a mile away from the garage that this happened, I am not a mechanic but do have to question whether there was some small error from the garage, as the car did go into gear when we started and it it just wouldn't move I don't feel this was a clutch cable issue, I am waiting for the RAC to attend and confirm their diagnosis of the issue, I have tried to call Watling Tyres head office but the number on line does not appear to be working. !!

Appalling doesn’t begin to describe the service. First call at 02.30, advised that call out to the port of Dover was restricted to after 07.00 due to security pass not being issued. No problem, limp out of port and stop on the duel carriageway. Advise call centre of new location but, apparently only fitter on call is now tired and gone to bed. Not available until 07.00. Finally turn up just after 07.00. So happy to leave livestock waiting 4.5 hours for their 24/7 service. Shame they have this area sewn up as really not the best!

Left high and dry by Watling Tyres, Margate.Did a reseal on a tyre which failed days later leaving us without a vehicle over the bank holiday.Didn’t show any interest in trying to rectify the failure instead told us to join breakdown company to get vehicle back to them.Poor customer service-Didn’t even get an apology for the initial failure.

BAD FEELINGS WITH NEW REDHILL MANAGER - PRICES WELL UP ! I have used this company for 25 years approx, and so have many of my colleagues but not any more. A new 'Manager' who has bad social skills and doesn't look at you when you are talking to him ? .... he is not user friendly as the previous manager and assistant manager who were really very good, in fact they were EXCELLENT ! Plus he has put all the prices up, not Covid, not Brexit, just him. PLUS They do not stock many 1st line tyres any more [always have to order], in fact their stock is now at least 50% down on 2 years ago, that was confirmed some time ago as the owners son I think now manages this site if not all of the sites. Shame it was a great branch of Watlings, my I add the staff in the workshop are Brilliant and very polite. THERE ARE AT LEAST 5 OTHER TYRE SUPPLIERS NEARBY I hope Mr Watling Senior reads this review.

Indeed, Tyre and Consumable costs have moved upwards on many occasions over the last two years and, whilst we do try to absorb rises where possible, there comes a point when a business must follow suit. I was regularly getting tyres fitted by them and was happy with the price and service. Recently I was really disappointed with the price I was given. I am talking about budget tyres here. I paid about £45 for tyres 195/65/15 in pandemic time and about £40 just before pandemic and I also have invoices too. But this time I needed 205/60/16 tyres for a different car and I was told £75 for each budget tyre which seemed to me far too much than what I paid, and used to pay before. I have been going to them for more than 4 years and never experienced this. The staff I was served by kept telling me that that's the price my manager just said so I can't do anything about it. I wonder he might be a different manager though. Anyway, I am not happy and had to leave without replacing tyres. Very bad service ☹️☹️☹️

Thank you for leaving us a review, we do appreciate all customer feedback and would like to respond to the review please: We do completely understand that it can be frustrating to be quoted a price that is higher than one you may have been expecting, so we would like to explain why this was the case when quoting for your tyres. Firstly, the tyre size that you requested a quotation for are larger 205/60/16 tyres than the tyres you previously had fitted (being 195/65/15) so naturally the larger tyres will be more expensive than the price you paid previously for smaller tyres. We do always try to be very competitive with all our pricing models and we do understand this is such an important factor for all customers in their buying decisions, your particular case is no exception to this. Secondly, it is, unfortunately, a sign of the times that since the global pandemic squeezing supply and demand across the whole sector, prices have increased (this year in particular) and everyone is feeling the effect of inflated prices derived from manufacturing, transportation and supply cost inflation. This means that we now also have to pay increased costs for stock products, however we are acutely aware that we need to remain as competitive as possible to serve our customers at all times. We do thank you for your previous custom and, if you have not already purchased your tyres, please do contact us to discuss this as we really do value each and every customer and our aim is to retain as many customers as possible by providing an excellent service and a competitive pricing structure. The chrome wheel trims on my BBS Monaco 18 inch wheels were badly dented and damaged beyond repair during the fitting of new tyres at Maidstone branch of Watling tyres. The trims had one or two minor imperfections before the tyres were fitted but afterwards they had four large creases where an incompetent fitter had tried to remove the old tyre. Dave the experienced fitter denied all responsibility for the damage and offered no compensation or apology. He agreed to fit a new trim if I supplied it. They cost £65 - £95 on eBay. My advice is Don’t trust Watling Tyres to be honest and professional.

Dear David, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. The team at Watling do appreciate all reviews, and we see these as a "customers" insight to our operation as a business. We have taken a look at this review and discussed it with the Maidstone branch and would like to communicate this to you please. It was Dave at Maidstone that carried out the work on your vehicle, that is correct. When we started the work, it was noticed that there was mud around the periphery of the damaged areas, which indicated that any damage was of a historic nature. We didn't take any images of this prior to the work unfortunately. The fitter assured us that he used WD40 to ensure a smooth tyre demount during the process to actually avoid any undue damage. Dave did point this out at the time of your visit and, he did also offer to fit your own trims free of charge as an alternative option. Whilst we do understand that it can be frustrating to incur damage to your trims, we do need to assure you that this damage wasn't as a direct result of changing the tyres on your vehicle, as we would of course admit to any mishap or damage caused by any one of our operatives or depots. It is not prudent for us as a business to do anything other than provide a high standard of service to our customers and this is reflected in the thousands of positive reviews customers have kindly left for us at Watling Tyres. Poor customer service, changed my car tyres with two brand new ones only to find out that one of them went flat. Have to wait for ages to get this fixed, not what you expect from the company with this magnitude

Awful damaged my alloy wheel changing my tyre and been going on since July with the manager at the Hastings branch agreeing to get it fixed and every time he arranged it not getting in touch to do it and the head office manager still not getting back to me it’s disgusting customer service!!!

Very bad experience at Sittingbourne brunch! Firstly to say is only for customer service/reception wise because I not get to the services. We have booked for 12pm on 21/03/2020 for tracking and we been 11:40 there (20 minutes before) - we try to go to the reception but some one shouting " where are you going?"- we said to reception - for tracking. The reply was no chance today but sorry we are booked for 12? He said something for my friend but he dos not understood (the reason I am there- to translate). The man started showing me strange things with the hands- I told him that I speak English and he showing me the car park and to sit (probably in the car - in the reception was few people and probably concerned for corona virus?) OK we sit in the car, no one took our car reg. or paper? At 12 I was a bit inpatient but no one coming back to us and another two car was in the garage? We went to reception and another man said waiting for Steve I think. He come and said "What?" We are booked for 12 I said. Will be minimum of 30 minutes wait - he said. Sorry but coming from Maidstone and wait 1 hour (may more and such a rudeness ?) it is not acceptable for us especially with booking and no one care about us- it is not professional and 0 customer service. We spok another language with my friend but this is the reason I'm there- for translation. Probably he ignored us because of this! But we are customers and he should treat us Fairly. Later he said - OK I can start in 15 minutes. I said sorry - NO. I'm sure that will may not coming back to you because I 'm not English but I'm British from 12 years and I'm here already 20 years and never treated like this- is not acceptable AT ALL. This is very serious matter! He may have bad day but shouldn't do it that way!

Took car for front shock replacement. The car came out with an ABS light on. Took car back and now this company want more money to put it right. The cat was perfect before it went it. Watling Tyres Sittingbourne are cowboys. Don't trust them at all. Customer service is disgusting. Left me with costs to my car that I should not be paying for. They were unwilling to help. They also replaced shocks knowing I had a knocking noise which they did not fix so they can't get car back in to do more work and earn more labour rates. This is a typical attitude with these types of garages. Cannot be trusted. Do not use Watling Tyres Sittingbourne.

Dear Customer, We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the service you received from our Sittingbourne branch. As you correctly stated you booked your car in to have the shock absorbers replaced after being diagnosed by a Peugeot main dealer & this is the service we carried out for you at our branch. Whilst carrying out a road test on your vehicle, more issues were discovered by our mechanic and you were informed about these immediately. This included play on the anit-roll bar drop links which was causing the knocking sound you were hearing before you brought the car into us and wear in the wheel bearing which was causing the ABS light to come on. We advised you that you should have these issues fixed and in order to do so you would need to leave the car with us, however, you said you didn't have the time & would let us know.
