“Water Garden have been very helpful - the manufacturer Oase less so in providing a product to the UK market without plugs. I know that in Germany everything is prohibited expect that which specifically allowed but not all markets work like that. Result is I have been shopping for parts and the installation will start tomorrow. Not looking forward to half burying it in Hayling clay baked hard by 30 deg C weather.”

Hi Valerie, No electrical pond equipment should be supplied with plugs fitted. Pumps, UVs, Filters etc should be hard-wired into an earth leakage circuit breaker whereas a moulded plug might mislead the consumer into fitting the device onto a standard socket on the ring main, which is potentially very dangerous.
