“We have had the great pleasure of purchasing 2 items of furniture from the Vintage Sofa Company and from start to finish their service is outstanding. In this day and age it is rare to find any company that offers consistently high levels of customer service, especially before, during and after a sale and rarer still to come across a family run business whose dedication and wealth of knowledge and experience extends far beyond expectations. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys and the welcome customers receive when visiting the fabulous showroom is out of this world. Staff are never pushy or overbearing and the 'hard sell' is unheard of at Jowler Mill, but what happens on a daily basis is a very nostalgic, warm greeting from a team of people that know their products inside and out and who will generously donate any amount of time to provide information and enable customers to make choices. The moment you walk in the door and are greeted by the offer of a hot drink and some seriously amazing home baking, you know you're in the right place......and then you see the jaw dropping furniture in the equally stunning setting of an old mill! The 3 floors of beautiful sofas and and other furniture is a visual feast that literally takes your breath away and the experience warrants at least 2 visit just to take it all in. The whole customer experience also extends to purchase made online or on the phone and the attention to detail doesn't stop at the point of purchase as all deliveries are carefully coordinated and every customer is contacted in person after delivery to ensure that items and service have met expectations. At this point of the review, some of you may be thinking that either I work for this fabulous company or that I am a relative! Honestly, I am just an ordinary, everyday customer who has had the great fortune to discover this sensational business, but nobody that visits Jowler Mill leaves feeling 'ordinary'!”

In a beautiful location, this family run business will just blow your mind with the amazing furniture and home furnishings that are all quirky and unique at a price that doesn’t break the bank! Georgina was knowledgable, professional, helpful and was able to help us decide on a sofa perfect for our family home (she also makes the best rocky road EVER!!). “Vintage sofa have always been available to answer any questions on their products even when their products have not been suitable for us. Their patience and customer service is their ultimate winner. However, we finally found a product that was suitable and they were great in reserving them for us. The two peacock cushions we bought were fantastic quality and stunning. We could not be happier with our purchase. It’s a shame we do not live closer as we would be visiting them more often.”

“Where to start….my enquiry online was met with a lovely, warm response and an invite to visit the shop at the weekend. Only problem I would have my dogs with me, that’s not a problem, infact please bring the dogs! So off went armed with 2 cavapoos!. We were greeted with coffees and yummy cake and then we were given undivided attention without any pushy sales approach as we took as much time as we wanted choosing our new sofas. I’d been following the page a good while and as there are so many beautiful pieces to choose from, it took me a bit of time to make a final decision. Anyway, we ordered new sofas and chairs, delivery was spot on, and I’m so happy with my lovely sofas. They are unique, luxurious to look at and so very comfortable. Can’t recommend enough, I’ll be back for that flamingo lamp….”

The staff are not pushy sales people, but, take time to ensure all questions are answered.. “A grumpy husband in tow, driving from Shropshire to Yorkshire, I had my work cut out to convince him now our kids had finally flown the nest it was time for an update at home. He soon cheered up when we drove up windimg roads in glorious countryside to a beautiful showroom. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the family and staff and served by one of the younger members of the family with coffee, tea and scrummy home made brownies! This was just the start of a 3 hour show round. I was in 7th heaven and felt I was on a grand tour of a Vintage Country Showhouse. My husband started yo really enjoy the complete experience of finding our new living room upgrade. Guided by expert professionals who took the time to get to understand what we wanted but never pushy we came away with a perfect combo of the famous leather Oscar, matching wing back chairs, a beautiful saffron velvet armchair, small footstool, gorgeous saffron feather filled cushions and my infamous dog butler. Not once were we hurried, interupted, the other staff and family members happily complimented our choices and made us feel so special 🤗 Even the after sales was exceptional when the chair legs had to be replaced to match the sofa! No big deal but they could do enough. We received a boxed leather care gift that I have used and over the last 18 months the couch and chairs just get better with age. We have been asked by a few friends and asked on shared Vintage websites where the couch, dog butler came from! I can’t recommend this family run company enough and I can’t wait to revisit this year as there are a few more bits I would like to purchase! In all honesty this was the best and most enjoyable shopping experience and day out I have had! Great company, gorgeous top quality furnishings and really helpful, friendly warm staff! Plus choccie brownies a real homey welcome. Definately worth a day out and visit! Grumpy husband to this day claims the visit from Shropshire to the Yorkshire showroom was his idea!!!! “I bought our 2 gorgeous Howard sofas without seeing them in person - just on the basis of the amazing reviews. I’m SO pleased I did. They’re beautiful, well made, comfortable and great value too. Customer service is second to none. We had a delay in our renovations so needed to defer delivery for several months and VSC were incredibly helpful, storing them for us and rearranging delivery. The drivers were friendly and helpful and the company gave a follow up courtesy call to check we were happy with our sofas. We definitely and wholeheartedly recommend Vintage Sofa Company.”

“We first visited the showroom at Jowler Mill in September 2023 after I had been stalking the Vintage Sofa Co. online. My husband by his own admission has no imagination when it comes to interior design and we had put off decorating the lounge for over 10 years as it seemed such an ordeal. He also has a strong aversion to shopping, but as we live about 20 miles away, I basically kidnapped my husband and took him on a mystery tour. That first visit was transformative! We were welcomed with coffee and cake and allowed to explore the Aladdin’s cave with no sales pressure, just helpful attentive and enthusiastic staff. We came away with lots of ideas and information which could have been a bit overwhelming except that Katy was happy to chat with us on WhatsApp and answer our many questions. In October, after a second visit to Jowler Mill to look at fabrics/materials, we placed an order for 2 large Oskar sofas, 2 rugs and a footstool (ex-display discounted). My husband (with no imagination) had fallen in love with the whole image and wanted to import the entire showroom into our house. We agreed that the rooms were too small for dark dramatic walls, but he was no longer afraid of colour and we set about gutting the lounge to re plaster and decorate. We were told the delivery would be 6-8 weeks from ordering but were pleasantly surprised that it was about half this time. The communication throughout was excellent and the Vintage Sofa Co were happy to wait until we had finished decorating. Katy even advised us on where to sell our existing 23 year old Tetrad sofa. The sofas etc arrived and it was completely stress free, the 2 guys who brought them were incredibly helpful and polite, despite roadworks at the end of the road meaning they had to carry them all the way round the terrace and through the garden! The furniture is beautiful and we anre even happier that it is British made. Everyone comments on how good it looks and feels… and is surprised at how reasonably priced it was compared to ‘high street’ stores that do not attempt to deliver the experience we have had. We still need to accessorise with pictures etc but have been waiting until after Christmas… I don’t think my hubby needs any persuasion to go back to Jowler Mill to look for ideas.”

“Hi we visited over Christmas period staff where lovely and georgina was absolutely fantastic showing us around and helped us with the information we asked for we ended up buying a two seater and single chair in the jasper range and a foot stool in tweed and not to forget the lovely cushions Can't wait till they are delivered on the 9th January Certainly will be going back again as they have lovely 😍 items that are so different 😀”
