“Ordered the sofas in late October, having been told online that the delivery eta was 4 weeks. Finally got a delivery date of 16/12. Sold my old sofa in preparation for delivery at 2:30 on 16/12, I was informed that the delivery wouldn’t take place and that the earliest delivery would be Thursday 22nd December (not ideal). Sofas arrived with damage to the base cloth of one of them and the other had clearly been quality inspected and x marks in blue biro to say where damage/marks had occurred. One side of the sofa is a different shape to the other Contacted vintage sofa company and they are sending someone out to repair base fabric and check the other issues. Just not what I expected when I spent just under £5k on sofas. So very disappointed”

Good morning Tanya, Thank you for taking the time to do a review as we are keen to continue to improve wherever possible. Thank you for purchasing directly on our website on the 30th of October, the website states 6-8 weeks for a bespke hand made analine Oskar suite and 4-6 weeks as a fast track option. So really pleased that we did manage to deliver within these guidelines on the 22nd December. We are so sorry that your first delivery attempt was cancelled last minute and this was so upsetting - the week before Christmas was so busy and we tried to get the next nearest delivery slot (thankfully we managed to deliver the suite before Christmas) on the 22nd December. I'm so sorry that the black dust sheet lining on the base of the sofa was pierced during the delivery, the independent upholsterer will be able to replace this easily when they visit. The independent upholster will also look at your concerns regards the marks that you have you forwarded, the leather that you selected is a natural full grain aniline leather so has natural marks in the leather and not a corrective grain - the expert will be able to advise very promptly and we will endeavour to rectify any issues that may come to light. Just to assure you that none of our manufacturers use pen (to mark the sofas) as quality control. If you would like us to call and discuss further once the upholsterer has visited and made their report as we aim to close after care cases as soon as we possibly can.

“Sofa looks nice but wouldn't say its crafted. Cushions not well stuffed; after a years use no longer meet. Delivery was chaos and came in 2 long instalments.”

“Ordered a sofa in 2020 (special size) - product delayed because of Covid which is totally understandable. Two sofas delivered that weren’t the correct sofa. new sofa found and delivered but this time with wrong base. After going backwards and forwards it was agreed a new base would be made and a technician sent to fit (second lock down delayed this until last week) old base removed, new one was offered up but is too big…old base put back but now damaged…both emails to store asking for refund or total replacement ignored, so as of Friday 23rd July I will be entering a claim through the small claims process. Happy to provide pictures”

“The Initial service was excellent and I really felt like I was buying quality. Sadly, when the sofa Arrived it wasn’t as expected. You think you’re buying something that’s better than a high street sofa but this isn’t the case. After waiting for nearly 3 months at a cost of £1500 it arrived with the wrong legs and this random stud work on the front, I was told to return it if I wasn’t happy. Just shop around first. I feel like it’s not as good quality as they make out. Disappointed.”

As a small family run business, we really do try our very best to ensure our customers get the best possible experience. “No review does this place or our visit to The Vintage Sofa Co any justice! We travelled down South from Scotland to see what we could source, after stumbling over their ‘WOW’ profile on Instagram. We were warmly welcomed by Peter Andrei Kate and Georgina, make yourself at home, have a look around. Coffee & brownies were offered while we gazed in amazement at all the unique bespoke furniture and quirky accessories. The Mill is stunning, not only is this furniture heaven, it’s also the family home! I had my eye on a corner sofa, it just needed some tweaking, not a problem, Georgina said ‘dad can fix that!’ We wanted the same style but a little different, a buttoned solid seating base, consisting of half raw buffalo hide and half Harris Tweed, also a completely different size! We gave Peter our thoughts, before we knew it, it was all designed to our exact specification, Peter also redesigned a matching footstool for us, nothing was a problem. The visit was more of a day out, a fabulous experience, lots of fun throughout the visit. I wanted to revisit The Mill so once the furniture was ready for collection we hired a van. Another great day, more coffee & brownies, a few additional quirky purchases, then home to Scotland to revamp the living-room! Absolutely beyond delighted! 10/10”

“Three families enjoying Vintage Sofa Company furniture.. When looking to replace our furniture we trusted the judgment of a good friend and took the long Drive from Lytham St Annes to Deepest Yorkshire and visited Vintage Sofa Co on the outskirts of Halifax. We visited our son Brendan and Family in York so stopped of en route.. The Showroom is over 2 floors ( lift available ) in an old Mill in what a I call an enchanted Valley it’s fabulous.. you drive down to Jowler Mill sited in a woodland with a abundance of wild life but we were greeted by a not so wild ginger friendly affectionate cat that proceeded to show us the way to the entrance ( have they taught the cat to do that?) On entering one of my many chins just dropped.. The mill was packed with quality furniture and furnishing displayed with a talented designer flare.. wow wow wow..we are then greeted by the mother of the family ( she Looked .. “Nor But a Lass”) as they say round here….she invited us to look around at our leisure and if we needed any help just call her.. it was like chatting to a family member no pressure at all. After being asked if would like-a coffee or Tea and home made brownie that looked and tasted amazing we wandered around and fell in love with the Harris Tweed and soft Anline Leather the rest is history. When our son moved house he choose Vintage Sofa also, we met the family at the mill one very warm Saturday afternoon in summer of 2022 the children were spoilt by the lovely family and allowed to sit on the display sofa without any supervision even had a photo shoot kneeing on the floor next to displays.. again the furniture looks great and is definitely kid proof.. After 3 months delay from builders Today 23/01/2024 A Long awaited delivery of our Daughters Furniture from Vintage Sofa Company. Large Corner Sofa plus a Two Seater Sofa and a large deep buttoned circular Footstool in Deep old Velvet and a beautiful Teal Colour looks sensational. The Delivery company kept the furniture and delivered it with the utmost care. They unpacked it and placed it in the exact place the customer requested then proceeded to remove all the packaging from site for recycling. First class service thank you ASB..”

“d ordered two beautiful zebra print chairs a little while ago from the Vintage Sofa Company however, after hearing such positive reviews from other customers who had actually visited the showroom, we were very eager to see it in person. During the 2023 Christmas holidays, we made the journey from just outside of Newcastle down to Halifax. The journey should’ve actually taken us approximately two hours. However it ended up taking 3 1/2 due to the horrendous traffic. We were absolutely shattered when we got to the showroom however all the misery of the journey soon disappeared as we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff. We were offered hot drinks and a huge slice of gorgeous Rocky Road. We were made to feel so welcome and the arduous journey was soon forgotten. How incredible the showroom is, is almost impossible to describe, you really have to experience it in person. Once you open the front door, it’s as if you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole and have entered a magical world; like Alice in Wonderland you are surrounded by the beautiful and unusual. The sheer size of the place cannot be captured accurately in photos, it’s huge. The wonder and beauty just goes on forever and ever. It’s such an inspiring space. We actually spent 2 1/2 hours there and to be perfectly honest could’ve spent even longer as I still don’t feel that we saw everything. We left triumphant and utterly content with a gold drip coffee table, gold drip mirror and a purple quad sheepskin rug. A leopard print and zebra print sofa are on order and the excitement I feel to receive these is beyond palpable. Would I spend almost 6 hours in the car to visit again? Damn right I would, in a heartbeat 👌🏼. I cannot recommend this family business any more highly. Exquisite products, amazing staff and the customer service is second to none. To support small UK businesses in this current financial climate is so important; when you buy from a business like this you are literally helping to put food on people’s tables, not lining the pockets of corporate fat cats and buying champagne for their luxury yacht. If you get the opportunity you absolutely must visit the showroom, it will change your life 👌🏼.”

The family are extremely friendly and helpful, the Mill is fantastic a real credit to them. We purchased the Howard corner sofa, loveseat, footstool and the high back chair to match and we are highly delighted with all of them! Well made, comfortable and look fabulous! “I've been following this company on line for quite some time as I really liked their furniture. I was however, unsure of ordering such a big ticket item as sofas online. Earlier this summer I was down in Yorkshire and took the opportunity to visit their mill showroom. Fabulous! I was warmly welcomed and free to wander around and sit/ try all their sumptuous sofas. They happily and patiently answered all my queries. I didn't buy on the day but it gave me the confidence in their quality and service to place an online order 3 weeks ago for 2 sofas, a footstool and a large rug. The order went through smoothly, the delivery charge is very reasonable (given i live in Scotland) and the guys brought everything up to my top floor flat. All the goods were well packed - just as well as it was thunder storms and heavy rain on the day of delivery. Very happy with my goods and the whole experience and happy to recommend to anyone else who might be hesitating.”

“Within five minutes of arriving I’d found exactly what I was looking for - it’s an Aladdin’s cave of beautiful & luxurious treasures! I’d been looking for the perfect sofa & dining room table for about three months, so they definitely weren’t impulse buys. I couldn’t be more happy with my purple velvet Spink & Edgar sofa & cushions - the ultimate in comfort, luxury & quality - just what I was looking for and at a great price. I now need to go back to find extra-special chairs for my beautiful dining room table. All in all a fantastic place & worth going the distance for. The service is lovely, very friendly & welcoming, we were given coffee & Rocky Road whilst browsing.
