This company is a SCAM "STAY AWAY". WHY? Review date: 24/02/2017 1. As a new customer they claim to give a discount price from £100 to £80. but in reality its without VAT so they end up charging £96 2. They claim its not a callout and infact say if the boiler is repairable thats all included. BUT when the boiler repairer comes and inspects they add "extra" repair charges and leave within half an hour saying they have to report it to company and they will send details. As you have already paid upfront you have no option but to wait for their additional quote which can go upto £700 (Please stay away from these scammers) [i consulted another company they got it fixed at £70, no callout charge. 3. The boiler repairer was very rude does not talk in english and if you ask them questions they tend to get irritated.

First off - DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE - they are incompetent to the point of being dangerous. They lie, they are clueless. It took me 4 weeks to try and get my boiler fixed and after all that I had to get British Gas in to get it sorted. You have been warned...

Booked an hour. Engineers gone out twice in total about 20 min saying he needed to move the car. Looked at boiler about 15 min then let air out from radiators in about 20 min then said time was up. Need more time. I told him it was the pump and he did not touch it! Said it was a house. Need at least 2-3 hours to find out issues. Boiler not fixed. Gone. I would not recommend at all! Waste of money.

When the engineer arrived and started looking at my boiler he quite quickly reeled off a list of things that could have been wrong, then tried to convince me I needed a new boiler that would likely cost around £2k. I don’t believe my current boiler is old enough to justify a new one, and this is the first time I’ve had a problem so I was suspicious. When I said I’d need to get a second opinion before committing to that kind of expense he tried to deter me by saying a different company would be way more expensive than them etc. I later discovered that while he was looking at my boiler he’d disconnected a tube inside of it that meant after he’d gone I was stuck with no hot water or heating (it was working sporadically before he came), and when his job report was emailed to me he’d listed four things that needed replacing in order to fix the boiler. To get a second opinion I had an engineer from British Gas come round the next day and didn’t say anything about what the guy from Village had said to see if he would say the same. He actually managed to fix the boiler in less than an hour and didn’t need to replace anything, saving me £100s (or £1000s if I’d have believed I needed a new boiler!) I see Village has a lot of positive reviews but based on my personal experience I can only recommend that people steer well clear of them and be suspicious of anything they say.

Engineer could not even find way to our commercial property let a lone than fix our boiler. Left boiler unreliable with gas smell. He came and read the boiler manufacturer instruction, acted unprofessionally and unethical. Demanded cash payment in advance, no hidden charge they advertised, why then was we asked by engineer for more cash to continue working on. When we refused he stormed out and threatened us when asked by us to provide receipt for payment we had already made. Try to bite my hand because I grab a worthless satnav, who even use one of these nowadays. Bad impress and will never use your company again. I am left devastated by the experience.

This Company took payment in advance and never turned up. They said they would be with us between 5 and 6 pm calling half an hour before they arrived. When they failed to arrive we called several times. They claim they give 24 hr service but all we got was an answermachine. We did eventually get through to the Boss who said someone woyld call us. They never did. Our whole evening was ruined waiting for them Even 3 days later we had not heard a word from them even though they had taken our money. It is now nearly a week since our call to them and we have not even had an apology!!! How dare they take our money and not turn up. Meanwhile we ate still waiting for a refund.

Please avoid this company at all cost!!! Receptionist/secretary shouldn't work in customer service at all. I never had to talk to such a rude person in my whole life. In my company she would be fired instantly! Now about whole situation. ..Our boiler stopped working (flame failure ) so we called engineers from this company. We have been charged for diagnosis and left with not working boiler. 2 days later they came with spare part £250 + another charge for call out. After an hour they informed us that part which they replaced wasn't a problem. They left us for whole weekend without hot water and heating suggesting that they will send another engineer to have a look but first we have to book boiler service. When I told mentioned previously receptionist that effectively they are leaving us without heating and hot water for whole weekend her response was as follow :"Yeah...preety much". When we asked for refund because work wasn't done they told us that was inexperienced engineer (so if we would be enough lucky and have experienced one we wouldn't have to pay for 3 visits)We had to call on site another company which fixed our boiler in 15 minutes without extra costs and multiple visits. I'm going to tell all my friends and neighbours about VH in person and social media. People have to know that they will deal with highly incompetent company if they decide to call them.

This company ask for payment in advance and once you paid for one hour of work, you are tied to them and have to keep paying for many visits until they fix your boiler. I have been charged £458 to replace a Gas valve on my boiler. The part costs only £120 inc Vat, but It took them a week to find out what is wrong and charged me for 3 visits. The actual bill woug have been £532 and they give me some discount after I complained. On a good side, they have good boss, Daniel who listen to you and also staff and engineers are very polite.

Items of Note: 1. Failed to turn up within stipulated time. 2. Damaged bath whilst carrying out the work. 3. Didn't fit the new shower unit properly. 4. Spent 20-25 mins out of the house on his mobile. Arranged to have a triton T80 Si power shower removed and replaced with a new Triton 80 Easy Fit Shower (Manufacturers recommend this as the ideal replacement shower). VHLtd. said job would take up to 2 hours. Payment taken by card up front. Appointment arranged for visit between 11am and 1pm. By 2pm plumber hadn't arrived. I telephoned VHLtd who apologised for their error and after contacting their plumber said he would be there within 40 mins. He arrived just before 3pm and said it was on his notes that he was to fix the existing shower. I had to explain that he had to replace the existing shower, not fix it. The Plumber said it could take up to 2 hours. I said "that's what I've paid for" so he then said he had to call his office to check payment had been made for 2 hours. During the time of his visit he spent at least 20 mins on the phone and took pictures of his work as he went along "so he could show his office what he had done". He managed to damage the bath. "Don't worry I can fix that he said" and proceeded to slap some bath paint over the damaged area. He also said the existing electrical trunking was too big for the new shower unit so rather than trim the electrical trunking to fit (He said it would need an electrician to do that) he has basically done a big of a "bodge job" with the new shower unit case left nat fitting flush. Would not use this company again and would not recommend them.

I arranged to have a VHL engineer visit to check on some issues I've been having with my heating and to do a boiler service. He successfully diagnosed the issue with the heating, but since the service my boiler hasn't worked properly. VHL deny all responsibility for this, even though the fault appeared the very next time I turned the hot water on since they looked at it. Previously the boiler had been working just fine, the other issues I had were unrelated to it. They would only send someone out to look at it if I paid another call out charge. Needless to say I won't be taking them up on their offer.

This company should be avoided at all costs. I called them in to look at my broken boiler, which they had been servicing previously, on an 'informal' contract with our housing association. But when I mentioned a new boiler, they showed no interest at all in the repair, and spent the whole callout time trying to convince me that they had the best installation offer. And then, without the two dodgy operatives having done another single thing, they charged me the full callout fee (around £130 or so, as I recall). Avoid these cowboys.

Very disappointed, considering VHL are a sizeable (and locally well reputed) company. The service engineer left the boiler in such a state that it had to be disconnected, and that in the cold weather we had this year in March. The problems that the service engineer said my boiler had during our annual service were all incorrect, and this was proven when I got another company to come and replace my boiler. With the boiler dismantled, they were able to physically show me what the problem was and they told me that there was no need to replace my boiler after a mere seven years. All-in-all, very disappointed, both at the incorrect diagnosis of my boiler AND at the cost of having a new boiler installed based on the advice of VHL!

Initially i was promised all work will be carried out within the hour, i paid £162 - then i was told they need to come out again which cost me an additional call out charge plus parts cost- the engineer turned up 2 hours late, i had to cancel my meetings to wait at home because another job was more important- then the engineer left a water leak through my boiler. I am far from impressed with the service, a manager was due to call me back- still heard nothing!! Won't be using them again. I'm left with a water leak and no one will answer my calls or call me back.
