First of all please don’t pay attention to the good reviews, these poor reviewers were bribed to do so. The company’s reputation is so fragile that it needs to bribe its most vulnerable customers by promising them a payment of £20 for writing a review so please do not fall into this trap.Whether or not they ask customers to write a favourable review is irrelevant because paying is indicative and is intended to influence the reviewer and that per-se is unethical and intended to create a fake reputation to mislead the impressionable new customers. Another advice: please please don’t pay a deposit and if you think the company deserves a second chance then at least don’t pay any deposit and also get a lawyer just in case! I just instructed my bank to initiate an investigation for a potential intent of fraudulent conduct and also to pursue a refund on my behalf after having a traumatic experience with the company. I am also planning to sue the company over the next few days if the company fails-as I expect-to refund the full amount that was paid as a deposit for the unfulfilled job and for the miserably handled cancellation. Don’t trust the company’s claims about any follow-ups jobs, it is an empty promise, the company endeavours to get your money, that is the name of game: one transaction service! I suspect that the company will survive more than a few months, as a consultant I am accustomed to dealing with this type of businesses, the company is flat and extremely exhausted and the workers seems unable to run a cohesive plan and you get the sense that they are demotivated and comfortable with this mess, they know the damage is irrevocable, nobody tries to improve the image of the company, they simply don’t care about the inconsistency and the craziness. You get the impression that they are already leaving the company and spending their time applying for secured and decent jobs! It is too futile trying to impress them when thing go wrong, don’t disperse your energy only conserve it for the court! Bottom line this company is a mess, unprofessional and extremely dishonest, avoid it before is too late, there are countless professional companies out there. P.S For fairness sake I will certainly update you over the next few days.

Stupidly confirmed a booking with them to fix a boiler, and asked for a breakdown of the pricing (they never sent over - we got a quote with it all combined, no breakdown). Called and canceled the appointment within 2 hours due to the lack of breakdown, and was told by two people in the office - on two separate occasions - that the refund is being processed and that's "not a problem". Fast-forward two days and I've received an e-mail saying that we will not be getting any of our money back, and have nothing to show for it due to the terms and conditions. That's fine, this is something companies pull all the time. Checked their terms and conditions and it turns out you do get a refund for labour, and we own the parts they bought for the job (if they did buy them in 2 hours EDIT - asked for proof of the order, 48 hours, nothing so far). More lies from them, or just incompetence? Would have been nice to have that breakdown of prices now, right? Asked them over the phone for a breakdown, to which they're charging x3 more for parts than the other company we went with, and x3 for labour (company we went we with said the job only needed 1 part, not the 5 that they claimed). Also asked to see how much they paid for them, the date they bought them, and confirmation in e-mail of what was agreed over the phone. None of that was sent either. In the same phone call was told we would now not be receiving the parts (even though they told me I own them) because we were looking into action with our bank, and that if the bank agreed with us "how do we know you'll send the parts back"? Interesting that issue of trust and terms agreed only matters when it works for them. I think you can tell a lot from a company about how it treats its customers during a stressful time (no hot water during a pandemic in which no one can leave the house), and how they resort to terms and conditions to justify their actions, especially when the company doesn't even know it's own terms and conditions/gives the wrong info/promises to give a refund then doesn't. I haven't even got into the angry calls from workers asking why we cancelled, the hanging up on phone calls from people in the office, or the classic conversation of; - I've spoken to the managers and they can't give a refund - So what do i do now? - You can speak to one of the managers - Ok - Well, actually I'm one of the managers - You spoke to yourself then? Overall, whether or not you want to go into Terms and Conditions (companies have a two week cooling off period in place that they have to adhere to under most circumstances) or what prices should or shouldn't be (one company charges £170, the other over £700 hmmm) I would say; Save your time and money, and go with a company that is coherent and honest from the get go, and not one who changes their mind on a whim and blames their mistakes on other people in the office. The last thing you need from a business is phrases like "I'm sorry for your experience" "I completely understand" or "due to our terms I can do nothing", and pick a company that actually has compassion and doesn't fire off company lines of it's money grabbing owners during a pandemic.

Don't book here - took the money upfront, cancelled my appointment and now I'm waiting over 3 weeks for a refund. Their customer services 'team' are one of the worst I've ever dealt with - they don't know what's going on and just relay messages. Management don't seem to ever work / are never available for a call. They lie about when they'll call you back. I've been told my refund has left their account and it will be sent back to me in 3-5 days, no sign, another 3-5 days, no sign. going to report to the ombudsman.

Unprofessional company - don't use. Made contact via email and agreed a date. took a day off to await the engineer. Contacted VHL on the day for a time and got told they didnt have us booked in. Paid for a more expensive 'out of hours' engineer to show up on that day only for them not to show at the time arranged. contacted VHl again for them to tell me that they cannot now attend and it would have to be another day. Totally unprofessional - have asked for a refund.

Very unprofessional. Booked and paid for an engineer to come 2 days ago and have been waiting 3 hours from the time given only to be told that the engineer cannot come now. I even took time out to facilitate the appointment and parking. WASTE OF TIME.. Do not use this company!

Whilst the job was apparently been completed on time and the site left clean, the work start day was changed which was inconvenient and there remains a technical problem which is still unresolved. There was also an issue of changing the price agreed after the deposit had been paid. This may still resolve itself, but this is still not clear.

Very disappointing experience. Had to make 5 calls to find out where the engineer was, told different things each time. Eventually arrived after 6pm (booked 1-4) couldn't do anything without further payment up front already charged £108 to book appointment. How you expect customers to pay an open ended amount when you can't give an estimate of cost is unbelievable and possibly illegal. Asked them to leave our property - will use a professional company who will estimate and invoice us. Don't expect to see this on your reviews, but if you are the reliable above board firm you claim then perhaps you will print it so customers have an informed choice.

What ever you do, DO NOT USE VILLAGE HEATING. I had the worst experience fixing my leaking tap with Village Heating. Two days after the plumber "fixed" my tap it broke again. This time it was even in worse condition than before - the leak was twice as heavy and the tap couldn't be used anymore. I tried to arrange a new viewing which they initially agreed to, but when the time came (I took a day off work for this), they told me there was no appointment marked in their calendar. And what's worse, they now said it would cost £320 just for someone to come look at my leaking tap! Needless to say, they never returned the original amount that I paid for the job (£110). If I could give this company zero out of ten, I would. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Village Heating ripped me off of £100.00 this morning. It was a bitter experience when I called them yesterday I was not told that for an engineer to come out was £100.00. I was told that they do not charge for call out but upfront payment. Today the engineer visited and send a quote Which was confirmed by a female staff in the office that it £364.00 including VAT. I find their action deceitful, cheaters, thieves and not worthy to practice. God k now knows how many people have been ripped off in this manner.

Company reps never contacted me once they reviewed the works to be carried out. Obviously wasn’t making them enough money. Shocking behaviour, Potential customer stay away unless you want to pay out lots of money.

Company left me with a faulty part which was fitted in July 2018. I paid over £200 for a visit, including valve itself. Leak outside of the house re-appeared after few months. Issue was reported. Engineer came in and confirmed it was a problem on their part (but said someone else was to come in and fix it). Yet, I had to pay additional £90 'deposit' for his visit, luckily received £90 refund. As a follow up, I was said that 'part was ordered in and someone is to come to fix it' in Dec 2018, which never took place. Every time I phone in since then to follow up - no-one is ever able to assist. All that happens every time: I am promised a call back, and no-one ever does. I now reported this matter to CIPHE. I now am facing Health and Safety issues due to having a leak outside as a result of their lack of care (with -temperatures and it turning into ice). I paid £200 for services which were of unacceptable quality. Company offers a year guarantee on services/ parts - this is why I did not mind paying higher prices, but do not believe it, it is just another empty promise. I do not recommend the company, and I regret not reading some reviews on their website before ordering them.

Left my 60+ year old parents and extra 9 days without heating over Christmas due to incompetent staff for an issue that was fixed in 2 minutes when someone with a little bit more competence came 9 days later! Complained on 31/12 and still no response. Terrible humans let alone company. Do not use. Avoid.

Very poor customer service Still trying to sort out with them the aftermath of an inexperienced plumber visit back in November! No return phone calls or replies to e mails and even though asked to speak to the boss and make formal complaint - still nothing (and we have spent over £1000 with this company)

They charged a lot of money to come in and fix a sink that had fallen through the granite. They were supposed to replace pipes, but I now discover that the pipes were not replaced and were not even fixed properly. However, they now tell me that under 4 weeks later they will not offer a warranty on the work unless I notice it within 7 days (ridiculous as it's a slow leak due to the fact they forgot to put a gasket in which i found at the back of the cupboard!) so their 12 month warranty statement on parts and labour is total rubbish. They have simply said no. No discussion. Please stay away. They are very nice when trying to get your business but are terrible if there is a problem (caused by their very shoddy work!) and to top it off, you can never speak to a manager as they are always in a meeting. NEVER AGAIN! You're better off going to PIMLICO PLUMBERS as they have BETTER customer service not to mention BETTER PLUMBERS!

On your website they say that they can beat any national quote but when I told them British Gas was offering me a boiler service for £90 all-inclusive they told me the lowest they could go was £80 plus VAT which is £96. Very disappointed .they need to remove the claim on their website which says they can read any national quote.

Untrustworthy & dishonest. Village Heating claims that it guarantees the work and says so on the invoice it sends. An engineer came around to check the underfloor heating and certified that it was fully functioning on 28 September. I called today because having turned the heating on for a few days and it has not been working, I thought it needs checking again and asked them to come out on their guarantee. They said there is an artificial cut off of a month for the guarantee when the engineer told me it is for a year. Even if it is only a month, I had only missed it for a couple of days and only because it is only just now cold enough to turn the heating on.
