100W installed Jan 2015. Jan 2016 Motherboard failed. As you have few engineers in certain parts of the country it took a while for one to attend from quite a distance. Said there was nothing wrong as it did restart. Boiler failed again within 2 weeks. My usual engineer ascertained it was the Motherboard and told company . We had to insist it was the problem and it was replaced. Your 'local' engineer was useless and fitted work around his customers needs. Appalling service from the engineer and getting through to the company was dreadful. Problem took took over a week to resolve in very cold weather. The same problem has happened again - Feb 11th 2021. Indoor temp 10C! Better contact to the help line this time. Company technicians are good and assisted my engineer - electrodes was the initial thought. Replaced them. Still no boiler functioning- conclusion Motherboard again. Expense fault. Fortunately my engineer sorted it with your technicians in a day with the help of local plumbing suppliers stocking your parts! Warmth at last. How long for?

Boiler stopped working one day after installation. There was subsequently poor co-ordination between installation company and Viessmann, with each blaming each other. Two Viessman engineers inspected boiler, identified fault and provided replacement part but refused to install or fix. I was left without working boiler for nearly a week after installation.

Issues like this should be handled behind closed doors - customers should not have to mediate between companies.

New Boiler started off to flying start. Now second time without hot water.
So frustrating! Filters fitted to H2O supply system drained flushed x4 times problem persists.

Very disappointed in the overall fitting of my boiler. I bought the boiler to replace a 15+ year old boiler and after have the new one fitted I wished I stuck with the old. The mess left by the fitter; large crumbling hole in the kitchen wall (that my dad had to fill/plaster) is still crumbling onto my kitchen worktop, a myriad of pipes (that the old boiler never had) taking up large amounts of room in my already small kitchen, random pipe that is not attached to anything just left poking out of the kitchen work top and finally the noise it makes every so often is loud enough to be heard upstairs. For the considerably amount of money spent in the system I am sorely disappointed and local tradesmen who have been in and seen the result (plumber and electrician) are shocked at the quality of the work.
i am looking to install a new combi boiler and am in the process of researching the various options.

something i find worrying here is the corporate stock reply from veissman to poor reviews.
clearly there's a problem with the control system being unfit for purpose but no solution is offered.

just how many bad reviews does a company need to have before they take the appropriate action to fix the problem?

these are clearly good efficient boilers but i'm not prepared to take the risk of having a control system i am unable to operate.

has the control system been greatly simplified on the latest domestic models?

furthermore, people are talking of a 10 year guarantee but, from what i have read, this seems to have been reduced to seven years in the uk. is this the case and if so why?

The control system has been updated on the Vitodens 200-W and all other domestic gas boilers in our range comes with documentation on how to work the control system. Alternatively, there is information provided on our website if needed.

The 10 year extended warranty is offered across our Vitodens 100-W and 200-W range as long as the boiler has been installed by a Viessmann trained installer. The Vitodens 050-W comes with a 7 year extended warranty unless the installer you have selected has contract support from ourselves and can therefore offer a 10 year extended warranty.

Service was good but very inconvenient as you were unable to give a broad time of callout. This is very difficult when working full time. Engineer gave a time on the day but then turned up significantly later without contacting to advice. To be honest I’m a bit concerned with the quality of new equipment that had to be replaced within a few months of fit. It has been fine since though.

I had my new Viessmann Vitodens 100-W boiler fitted in August 2019 so it's still a bit to early to review the performance of the actual boiler. But I would like to give feedback on the handset control system Vitotrol 100. I think that it's far to complicated for a 'normal' person to operate and I've already had to have the heating engineer back to help me set up the heating programs and the explain again the overall day to day adjustments that I may require. He was here a long time as even he had issues with the programming. Why do you have to make these so complicated? I was advised by the engineer that Honeywell does an alternative controller that is a far more 'basic' controller that may suit my needs more! It's crazy that I've now spent +£3000 on a new boiler and that it's too complicated to operate and I may have to spend an extra £100 on a new controller to get the best out of my new boiler. If I'd know that the controls are so complicated before my purchase, I think that I would have bought a Glowworm boiler instead, whose controls are far more user friendly.

Hi,
i'm not sure if this is installation related or equipment related however we have had the boiler now since October 2018 and unfortunately it keeps losing pressure.
Immediately after the installation the boiler was working perfectly fine, it has only been in the last 5 months that the boiler has been acting this way.
We still have heating and hot water which isnt an issue however from my experience boilers are supposed to sit at approximately 1 Bar of pressure when it is either in use or not in use.

I was dissappointed to receive a 7 year warranty certificate with no detail of what is covered and no contact details if anything goes wrong. I would very much like more information about the warranty.

Poor,due to having to call heating engineer out twice. You would never expect two breakdowns in as many months this was the coldest time of year,thank god for electric fires.

I Have been without hot water since the weekend, contacted customer service numerous times as my boiler is under warranty. Each time I call they claim that my boiler is not registered to my address or registered at all even though my installer has sent this off when it was installed in 2013. I have been sent a screenshot of a confirmation notice that he has had to go through and 're register it but still they have nothing there side. Customer service has a lot to be desired
I had a viessmann 100 installed 2year ago was ok for awhile then nothing went right with it BUT trouble renew burner then something else ,water went hot /cold thenHOT, Hot new heat exchanger ok again for awhile then again TROUBLE called in viessmann enginer told me what was wrong the return/flow rubber hoses was breaking up inside blocking up the heat exchanger .He then phoned viessmann about this ,they said it was not the fault Now he is a heating so he would know better well awhile i got new hoses as agood will but I had to pay to have them fitted but the boiler is still not right the person in your service dept told me to power flush it I had this done not long ago also had a adey . Magaclean filter fitted l am fed up with the whole thing .its still under warannty l wish l did not buy it

We are really sorry to hear of the troubles you have had with your heating system. During the previous support visits we have made to your property, it has been identified that the issues encountered have been caused by installation/system issues, not a faulty Vitodens 100-W Gas Boiler.

We recommend you make contact with the installers of your heating system who should be able to assist you further.

After about a month of my new boiler being installed there was no hot water and the day later there was no heating. The company that installed it sent out someone that night to see if it could be fixed. The weather was very cold and they didn't want me to be without heating and hot water. The engineer couldn't fix it. They contacted Veissman who said no-one could come to me till after the weekend, leaving me a week without heating or hot water. The engineer came from Glasgow just to fix my boiler, instead of someone a few miles away from Aberdeen, which he wasn't very happy with, and I didn't think was efficient. He did a good job and diagnosed that the fan had died. Does this mean it was an old fan? I was happy to pay what I did for the boiler but not one that is faulty! Hopefully the boiler will continue to work especially as it is the middle of winter and I have been well and really don't want to be in the situation of having no heating and hot water again anytime soon! The boiler has been working fine since the replacement, thank you.
Unfortunately the only instructions for setting the timer are written in German so I have not been able to use this. I had no response to email I sent asking for help with this.
New boiler making a bad noise so installer had to replace the heat exchanger which you supplied.

Hot water is not constant especially in the bathroom. You're engineers said it was ok. Hot water shouldn't be cold
