About U Drive Cover:

U Drive Cover Limited is an independent insurance intermediary wholly owned by a senior management team with over 50 years experience in the non-standard insurance market covering motor, commercial vehicle, fleet, household and motorcycle.

We welcome enquiries from customers with an accident or motoring conviction history as well as modified vehicles. We can offer up to 65% discount for ex company car drivers with an accident-free history or for households where there is more than one car. We also offer cover for any car from a Mini to a Ferrari and for all ages from 17 to 99.

U Drive Cover Limited was formed to offer customers a personal approach. We treat each customer as an individual and offer an excellent service. Coupled with our excellent relationships with major Insurers, this enables us to offer competitive premiums as well as the personal touch. For the convenience of customers we do offer online quotations and the opportunity to purchase online but we also feel that we can make a difference by listening to the customer’s individual needs.

The U Drive Cover Limited offices are based In the UK and are manned by staff that have many years’ experience in providing these products. We do encourage existing and new customers to call us as there are many rating factors that can influence car insurance premiums and we welcome the opportunity to listen to your needs. Our aim is to prove that excellent service does not mean that you have to pay higher premiums.

“Should be no stars. Took £75 from me . Found cheaper insurance. Cancelled policy within 5 mins. Still took £75!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! BE WARNED. ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️”

“Absolutely shocking. The amount of info requested after you take out the policy is really high. Also they want additional info in the small print then call 3 days before the policy is due to start to say you have to pay additional £500 premium because they have now searched back 5 years and found something - not 3 years like on the quotation site - and this extra time is all in the very small print on their website so all your fault. Or you can cancel for £75. Absolute criminals. They should not be allowed to operate. Worth paying £75 to escape from these misery inducing charlatans.”

“If i could score no stars i would. Customer service has been absolutely appalling from the first instance. I paid in full and then told i had to pass some validation checks never heard of these before. And due to moving home 3weeks prior the quote went up by double they neglected to inform me of this untill the day my policy was due to start which meant i was not covered on my commute to work luckily i did not have any accidents. After reducing the quote still left me with more to pay and then told my policy wouldnt start untill midnight (i was at work 15miles from home). They then agreed to cover me to drive home between 5pm -7pm but i wasnt covered if i had an accident what is the cover then? Allowing me to drive my own vehicle at my risk???? I own it i can do that without permission from them. Finally got told i was cover between 5pm-7pm even if i had an accident still very confused how this works. Was told id recieve a cover note nothing appears so call them again 45mins later told there was issues with emails and i was insured and there call centre was open should i have problems on route home ( not filled with confidence) customer service absolutely shocking. Requested a copy of complaints procedure which i still havent recieved. Dont purchase avoid at all costs im regretting my decision.”

“Paid my car insurance of £702.00 . Thought my sp30 had expired only to find out it hadn't by a couple of days. So I got an email explaining this. I'm getting charged another £378.00 for the sp30. Tried to cancel the policy has i found another quote online cheaper. I have been insured with them for 36 days and to cancel it I would have to pay them an additional £31 admin fee so it would of cost me £733 for 36 days of cover. No choice had to pay the £378 charge for the sp30. Couldn't cancel the policy or I'd have lost all the £702 aswell. THAT IS DISGRACEFUL”

“Scam, the service is rubbish, they want more personal data than any other company I have used in 27 years. Charges are out if this world ridiculous. Service is the worst, all they will do it quote T&C's and in no way help. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.”

“Their agents tell you all sorts of good things until you get the policy and find out what they said was free isn't. And your excess is £450 but when the policy shows up its £2000 . I think the FSA would have something to say about lying to customers. They still charge a fee when you cancel their misquote too. And say it takes 30 days to get a refund. Avoid this company and you will save a lot of money and grief.”

“VERY unethical insurer. I received an insurance quote from these cowboys online, it was significantly cheaper than any other insurer so I decided to take out the policy. After much messing around and a VERY protracted phone call these guys eventually suggested my policy should actually be around £200 MORE than quoted. I said I was going elsewhere and they subsequently changed their tune and agreed the initial fee. Since then i've received an email from them stating that my paperwork isn't in order (despite me sending them everything they requested) so, presumably, for this period, had I had an accident I presume they would have refused to pay out.. Ultimately I think they are so bad i am probably going to put this matter in the hands of the insurance ombudsmen as they very much feel like cowboys..”

“A very unprofessional company. To add my husband onto a policy which already has myself and 2 learner drivers was going to cost an additional £270. When I told them I am going to the insurers they have underwritten, they said nothing. Avoid at all costs. They took my £75 and told me they would process my refund in the next 30 working days. When I asked where the £75 comes from, they said in the T'c and C's. They come up on Compare the market. Be wary!!!”

“Absolutely rubbish insurance company, sent in the documents on the very first day of the policy start date and they sent me a cancellation notice without even checking if they have received the documents. I have never experienced this kind of unprofessional behaviour in 24 years of driving or with any other insurance company. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone”

“Totally disappointing , I paid for my insurance to be activated on a Saturday when I made the payment they said they would only activate after confirming some data during the week ! I managed to talk to them only on Friday 6 days later I was very poorly attended and asked for a refund that has been 15 days and has not returned to my account and I have no explanation!! Detail I was charged £75 to cancel a service that was never activated! I'll take it to court”

“Avoid at all costs. Conmen. They wanted nearly £300 to change car to a smaller engined, equal valued car. Now they have asked for over £290 to cancel the policy, as apposed to the admin fee normal insurance companies charge.”

“Not an insurance company they’re brokers! They took £250 deposit off me last Tuesday and cancelled my policy today saying I had a policy with them, but according to AskMID the car wasn’t showing on the database, now they’re taking £125 off my deposit, beware avoid at all costs, don’t let these disgusting thieves rob your money, pay the extra and get insured by proper companies, they shouldn’t be allowed on comparative websites, AVOID AT ALL COSTS PLEASE”

“I had a claim made against me and the insurance Company(u-drive) failedto notify myself about said claim. Also renewal insurance was over £3295 a year!! Absolutely will not insured again with u drive.”
