About U Drive Cover:

U Drive Cover Limited is an independent insurance intermediary wholly owned by a senior management team with over 50 years experience in the non-standard insurance market covering motor, commercial vehicle, fleet, household and motorcycle.

We welcome enquiries from customers with an accident or motoring conviction history as well as modified vehicles. We can offer up to 65% discount for ex company car drivers with an accident-free history or for households where there is more than one car. We also offer cover for any car from a Mini to a Ferrari and for all ages from 17 to 99.

U Drive Cover Limited was formed to offer customers a personal approach. We treat each customer as an individual and offer an excellent service. Coupled with our excellent relationships with major Insurers, this enables us to offer competitive premiums as well as the personal touch. For the convenience of customers we do offer online quotations and the opportunity to purchase online but we also feel that we can make a difference by listening to the customer’s individual needs.

The U Drive Cover Limited offices are based In the UK and are manned by staff that have many years’ experience in providing these products. We do encourage existing and new customers to call us as there are many rating factors that can influence car insurance premiums and we welcome the opportunity to listen to your needs. Our aim is to prove that excellent service does not mean that you have to pay higher premiums.

“Very poor experience – lack of transparency and misleading pricing. I was initially quoted around £721 for my car insurance, however after “validation checks” the total price increased to over £1,100. No clear or specific explanation was provided for this significant increase, despite me asking multiple times. The company only gave generic responses about “validation scoring” and refused to explain exactly what had changed in my case. I also repeatedly asked for a clear breakdown of cancellation costs, but this was never properly provided. Communication was extremely frustrating. I was told I would receive a call back – this never happened. When I requested everything in writing, I was constantly pushed to call instead, which felt like an attempt to avoid giving clear answers in writing. To make things worse, my complaint was marked as “final response” without actually resolving the issue or answering my questions. Overall, this experience felt very unclear and unprofessional. I would strongly advise others to be cautious, as the initial quote may not reflect the final price you are asked to pay. I would not recommend this company.”

“Avoid these people. They never followed their own process and then blamed me. I raised a complaint to which they responded. They’d exonerated themselves of course. I cancelled my cover having exchanged 14 emails with them in the first week of cover. Arrogant and complacent customer service support. They are just rubbish.”

“Dishonest rip-off company. Accepted "date of offence" for exspired speeding ticket via Compare The Market, and later charged £225 for "risk adjustment". This could and should have been picked up and discussed by their agent who went through all (except this) information I had provided, during a 29-minutes phone call.”

“AVOID THIS COMPANY U-DRIVE ARE CHARHING ANORMOUS FEES, DON'T ACEPT THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ONE MOTH THEY CHARGED ME £386 I WANTED TO CANCEL AS IT WAS VERY HIGH PREMIUM. THE MONTHLY PAYMENT WAS £120, THEY CHARGED ME £380 AS I WANTED TO CANCEL. Inception Date: 19/03/26. Cancellation Date: 18/04/26. Days of Cover: 31. Annual Premium: 1350.00. Cost per Day of Cover: 3.70. Insurers’ Fee: 100.00. Total Cost for Days of Cover: 214.66. Return Premium for Unused Cover: 1135.34. Retained Commission: 170.30. Cancellation Fee: 75.00. Unpaid Balance at Point of Cancellation: 1277.00. Balance Payable Following Cancellation: 386.96.”

“AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID Some great staff, but sadly some horrendous rude ones who gave me wrong instructions and argued with me about it (the company admitted this ). Ive spent several hours of my own free time trying to sort this out and as an apology and gesture of good will was offered something i do not need for my [policy or would have chosen it. Sadly im with this company for a year but i would advise against using them if you dont want your free time wasted dealing with staff who are not competent in their job.”

“No problem with Representatives but this company is one to avoid. Fortunately, I've not had to make a claim but the stressful processes and nonsensical chasers doesn't fill one with confidence. You may need to pay a little more with a competitor but my advice would be to do so. God forbid you have to make small amendments .... they'll charge you top fees !!”
