“Dean from Timberwise Midlands was excellent, he did a really nice job repairing our 300 plus year supporting oak beam on our barn. It was nice to have a skilled workman that takes pride and enjoyment in his work.”

“Ryan and Russ from the Leeds branch just completed a water proofing system and timber treatment on an old yard cottage in Whitby. Turned up on time. Everything done as quoted and agreed. They made a useful photo record of the works as they progressed. Really pleased with the swift service.”

“Tim and the Bristol team help us resolve a dry rot issue affecting the ground floor of our Mother’s house. Although we were managing the project remotely from different city and country locations(!) during the recent pandemic lockdown, Timberwise gave us peace of mind throughout the project and delivered a first class result. Highly recommended.”

“Ryan K and Russ C undertook dry rot treatment and timber replacement works at my site. Works undertaken diligently, within timescales agreed and to the agreed budget. Liaised with other parties on site, kept all aware of works involved and restrictions during duration of works. no issues, pleasure to deal with. thank you”

“Timberwise treated our whole living room and a few other small areas of our home for damp. The service was very professional and friendly throughout, from the survey (conducted while we were buying the property) to the end of of the process. Leah at HQ was excellent and charming, and Tom (damp course) and Justin (plastering) were reliable, hard working and nice guys. I won't pretend having this sort of work done when you're in the house isn't dusty and disruptive, but Timberwise made it much less painful than it could otherwise have been. Happy to recommend.”

“Barrie Francis from Timberwise is AMZAZING!!! I contacted Timberwise in Nottingham to get a damp survey / second opinion for a house I was renovating that was in a bad state of repair. I had been told it was rising damp by a previous company 'Preserva C S S' and quoted £5,000 which seemed extremely high, so I was very sceptical about it. Barrie Francis from Timberwise was the surveyor who came over, he was exceptional and 100% honest which seems hard to find in the damp world. He drilled into the wall to take samples unlike the other company and to my relief informed me it was not rising damp but mild condensation which would basically fix itself once heating was on and fresh air has been the into house as it had been vacant for 6 months before purchase. I also asked what the cost would have been if it were rising damp and it was more nowhere near the other quote and very reasonable. I always recommend Barrie to friends and family because from my experience I know he is completely honest and does best by the customer.”

Chris Ricketts carried out the work and I cannot recommend him highly enough - really knew his stuff and worked to an incredibly high standard. He kept the work area very clean and tidy and was a pleasure to deal with.”

“When I purchased my house around 3 years ago the previous owners had just paid Timberwise over £2,000 for damp proofing. They also paid an additional £106.00 for a 20 year guarantee. The Timberwise guarantee states on the front page that it is a guarantee for worked carried out at my address for 20 years. It does not mentioned the name of the property owner. The damp has returned. When I called Timberwise to ask if someone could visit under the guarantee they said that under clause 15.1 (written in very small print among a host of other terms and clauses) a new owner must contact Timberwise within three months of purchase and pay a fee in excess of £100 to transfer the guarantee into a new name - otherwise the guarantee is invalid. In essence the guarantee is linked to an individual and not the property. The person I spoke to at Timberwise quoted clause 15.1 almost straight away in our conversation and so it is clearly something they are familiar with. Why would this clause be included if it is not an attempt by Timberwise to reduce claims made against the guarantee? (it serves no other purpose) Knowing the clause was included and knowing that the property was about to be sold - what incentive did Timberwise have to carry out the original work properly? Why is this clause not printed in the same size font as the rest of the document - if it is not an attempt to hide it?”

Thank you for your review. Apologies for delay in responding to the review you left late yesterday afternoon. On the front of the Timberwise Guarantee is the property address where the works were completed along with the name of the assignee. As there is no available space on the front of the guarantee for the terms and conditions these appear on the back. This is to prevent having the need for a separate sheet which may become separated from the guarantee. We are sorry that you feel that these are in a small print, but we wanted everything to be contained on the one page. The person you spoke to did not know the clause immediately and did consult with a senior member of staff for advice as well as a copy of the terms and conditions to ensure the details given to you were correct. We would also like to confirm that £2000 was not spent on damp proofing. Some of the original issues were condensation related resulting in an extraction unit been fitted that was purchased along with an amount of plastering, only a small proportion of the £2000 that was spent was actually on injection damp proof works. We are sorry that you are upset at the situation, but had the guarantee been reassigned as per the terms and conditions then the guarantee would still be valid. It would appear on this occasion that this was not done by either yourself or your solicitor.

“Timberwise attended in double quick time to assess the issue and put forward a 'bat' friendly solution for the church tower roof timber treatment. They turned up when they said they would and all for a good price. No job too small.”
