“I was very happy with the whole process of ordering a bedstead in pewter and the deliver. I was given an approximate delivery date and was later informed when delivery would be. I was also given the opportunity to change that date if it was not suitable. The bedstead itself is excellent, well made and worth the wait for the design in pewter. The slatted base is also an improvement on my old slatted bed base as the mattress feels much firmer and i feel as though i sleep better. Overall I am very happy with both bedstead and service from the Original Bedstead Company. Thank you to all concerned.”

“The bedstead is really nice and the mattress is wonderfully comfy! The staff were very helpful on the phone when I called with a question about the under bed storage. I was impressed that they called up after we had received it to see how we were getting on with it and what we thought about the mattress in particular. Highly recommended.”

“Ordered the Athena bed frame in Black and we are really pleased with it. Delivered on time, all parts were there and in excellent condition. Very straightforward to build even for non DIYers! Many thanks to the salesman, Matthew, who I spoke to over the phone to check some details of the bed, place the order and arrange a quick delivery. Great customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend the company to others.”

“the bedstead arrived on time well wrpped and in perfect condition. Assembly was easy with a minor exception of the final securing bolts hoding the head and foot to base frame which were very fiddly. Once assembled the bedstead looked every bit as good as the advertised picture - ovderall very happy with the result”

“Excellent customer service. I inadvertantly ordered the incorrect bed size. I sent an email and received an almost immediate phone call from a director to assure me that my order would be amended. He also copied into an email he sent to his staff asking action be taken to amend my order. I received confirmation of the amended order and delivery date. The email contained details if the delivery company and how to contact them if needed. The bed arrived well packed. As we are on holiday my husband has not yet assembled the bed but it appears to be lovely. Hope to send a photo soon. Thank you to all involved with my order.”

“I bought a Claudia Kingsize bed in glossy ivory as a birthday gift for my daughter. The extremely helpful Tanya at OBC helped me plan for delivery on the correct date, and discussed their excellent returns policy should my daughter not approve of my choice. Thankfully, she was absolutely delighted with the bed! It looks stunning in her room, very elegant and well made. We're both very happy!”

“Bed fantastic. Courier company rubbish delivered 1 part of bed then had to ring to find out where 2nd part was. Lady rather rude until I pointed out this was due to their inadquency not mine! 2nd part arrived after our visitors had arrived & we then had to assemble the bed before bedtime! Complete shame a bed itself great. Would recommend to switch couriers!”

“The company offers free delivery "worth £45" if you buy both a bed and a mattress. Having placed an order I foolishly expected that they would offer a service that was indeed worth £45, and deliver the bed to the room of my choice (unsurprisingly, a bedroom located upstairs). Had I read the terms and conditions, I would have realised that "delivery" actually means "abandonment at the front door". Prior to leaving a review, I have spoken to two people at the company about my dissatisfaction, one of whom was very patronising, and kept referring to it costing them £20 to have the bed delivered. That pretty much explains everything...it is actually a service worth £20, but if you had to pay, they would charge you £45! Also, no timed delivery slot...anywhere between 8am and 6pm, and the phone number to track, had to forward my call twice, when they could still only tell me that "it will definitely be today". Used Beds on Legs last year...much better, and will stick to them in future.”

Hi Louise, Firstly, thank you for your feedback, we appreciate the views of all customers, be they positive or negative. Sorry that you feel so disappointed in the delivery service offered. We do attempt to make the delivery process as clear as possible by outlining it on the page of every single bedstead rather than hidden away in the terms and conditions. We also provide a link right next to the delivery cost which takes you to the details. Until now we had felt that this was both clear and concise in terms of visibility and language used, but we will be sure to review this in order to make it more clear. As a company we always aim to bend over backwards to resolve customer complaints, and receive really positive feedback relating to this. We appreciate your views though and will look at whether your complaint could have been handled any differently. Finally, I think there may be some confusion on the delivery cost of £20, as that relates to orders that simply entail a bedstead. We get charged a further £25 by our courier company for a mattress which we usually pass onto the customer. With your order though there was no delivery charge at all, and as such you received free delivery worth £45, as advertised. Once again, sorry that the delivery experience was not what you expected. Whilst we do offer an assembly service, we will also look to investigate and implement a cost effective delivery service to the room of a customer's choice. I do hope that once the bedstead has been assembled and taken pride of place in your bedroom for many years to come; it's design and quality will be what you remember the Original Bedstead Company for. “I ordered an Ashley bed frame in gloss Ivory. I'm usually wary about buying anything on the basis of just a picture but I was unable to find a low foot end bed elsewhere. I'm pleased to say the bed arrived on time, was well packaged in two cartons and is a good quality product. I am very happy with the assembled bed. I was also very happy with the 2 members of staff I communicated with during the order process. They were helpful and courteous. Overall an excellent experience.”
