“Delivery was fine, wood is in very thin pieces (last time I ordered I had some huge chunks that wouldn't fit into my stove), which means refuelling more often. Am also finding the there's a lot of soot coming off this batch of wood, which shouldn't be the case if it's properly kiln dried.”

“Efficient and quick order and dispatch. Wood had quite a bit of thin logs compared with previous orders. Delivery company rescheduled for 9-11am on Saturday and then proceeded to disturb us and neighbours at 07:30 with lorries and palletiser. Less than impressive delivery!”

“The product is great (pallet of logs), but if I can't get it dropped into a space in my garage then there's no point me ordering again as it took me 2 hours to throw in loose.”

“The timber was fine but was more defects and warping than I thought there would be for the price. I have built a hopefully long lasting composting bins and the rest is for raised beds in our vegetable garden, so warping not that critical. Could do with a more accurate delivery date at time of ordering! Lorry driver was great!”

“Order process was simple but delivery was complicated. The driver refused to bring the pallet down to our driveway and left it at the top of the road... we had to bring it down by wheelbarrow. I know it says kerbside delivery... but this was ridiculous., we have had several other large items delivered to our driveway no problem - soil, gravel, cement, skips... This also meant that instead of having the logs neatly contained in the crate for easy storage we have had to re stack it in our garage.”

“Early days but the quality of the logs supplied seems very good and for our stoves seems a better fit then the seasoned logs we have use for many years. Delivery was an issue as we have a gravel drive and the delivery lorry dropped off at our entrance and so a long haul to the wood store, a few hours exercise.”

“Their service was what you would expect, not outstanding but then again not bad in any way. They definately need to get a new courier, that was what is likely to prevent us form using the Luxury Wood Company again.”

“Have always been delighted with Luxury Wood in recent years. Excellent logs and competitive prices. In past years Customer Services have provided good info regarding deliveries but not this year. Originally our 2 pallets were scheduled for delivery on 19th October so I waited in all day for it but I was informed at 4pm that they had transport difficulties. Delivery was rearranged for the morning of 22nd October. No delivery or feedback from them. Chasing up Customer Services in the afternoon I was informed that delivery would arrive later that day. No delivery and no feedback from Customer Services that day - a second day wasted waiting for delivery. I phoned them the next day and was told that delivery would be within one hour. It was! Have recommended them to others in previous years but would be reluctant to after this experience...”

Dear Richard, We are sorry for the unpleasant experience you had with our subcontractor Pall-Ex. All transport companies are doing their best to operate as normal as possible during those difficult times and some of them are failing to provide their usual service. We are all hoping we will get through this safely.

“Ordering process no problem Delivery hit and miss, no tracking number and no delivery notification. Be prepared to wait for up to 5 working days.”

“Slow communication even within the Company itself. Timber is good for the price but I would recommend asking for it to be covered for delivery. If raining it will warp as it dries out. A little more effort would add extra stars!”

“From purchase to delivery takes quite a long time. I have ordered wood from you on several occasions and product supplied was pretty good. However the last full pallet was very poor quality. A quarter of the wood was terrible quality and just completely rotted and crumbled when touched. While you have offered £30 off my next order it does not cover the amount of wood that is unsuitable for burning.”

“The wood was delivered promptly but I have to question the quality of some of the logs. They seem to be more of the B quality rather than the best,it still burns well but the cutting and splitting of the logs is not the best”

“Really good quality wood and value however, delivery courier is poor to say the least, no advanced notice off delivery and past experiences have shown them to be unreliable.”

“Bought a crate of first quality logs in March but only just got round to opening the crate. Rather disappointed by the quality.A very mixed batch of irregular logs/branches .Although I paid full price , these are definitely 'B' grade.”
