“First time used luxury wood disappointed with the logs a lot of very small pieces of wood only good to get the wood burner started. Delivery time was longer than I expected but when I emailed them they did get back to me quickly.The delivery company very good Would I use luxury wood company again? Only if my regular supplier was nil stock”

“Having been a customer of TYhen Luxury Wood Co. for 8 or so years and always extremely pleased with the logs, I just have to say that this year's delivery (Dec.2022) was a huge disappointment. Huge logs (some the size of the tree trunk) and a sack full of very small kindling-type pieces. Always beautifully packed”

“Good service, well wrapped on first appearance well sized logs but as you get to the middle of the crate seems to be stuffed with very small wood.”

“I have used The Luxury Wood Co for several years now, ordering kiln dried ash nets which I find to be of excellent quality. The issue I have is with the delivery company. Last year I waited indoors not once but twice, only for them to not show up and without the courtesy of a phone call despite having both my mobile and landline numbers. This year, exactly the same thing, appointment made, no delivery, no phone call. Thankfully this time after phoning The Luxury Wood Co, a member of staff sorted the matter out and the wood was delivered the following day. Ironically the delivery Co were using the same excuse this year as last…an accident in the yard, which clearly rendered them unable to pick up a telephone! A good company let down by its weakest link…be warned!”

“Product is as described. Approximately 7 of the planks look to be either split or badly warped which may prove a problem when fitting. Was surprised to see them delivered un-protected on the vehicle so open to any rain en-route, given very clearly sold as untreated flooring this seems an odd decision. Delivery driver was courteous and kept me informed of his progress which was good.”

“The product is really good. However the 100% increase in the price from last year at this time (£260 last year to £520 this year) smacks of profiteering on the hysteria re. energy prices. When asked for an explanation as to the mark up the reason cited was an increase in delivery costs- £260 extra? Not acceptable.”

“The product is fantastic As usual the courier is rubbish They informed us the day after the delivery of their arrival. My wife had to move one ton in my absence I wish there was an option for a courier palletways or their sub contractors are always a problem”

“Order process was fairly smooth, but then there was no communication. It was only when I phoned up a few weeks after I placed my order that I found out my goods were out for delivery that day. As I work over an hour away then that clearly a problem. The log store came in five black shrink wrapped packages. The wood inside the packing was quiet damp making it heavier. The only other thing in the packages was a knotted plastic sandwich bag with some screws and a little card with a barcode. You need to scan the barcode to see the assembly instructions. I found the instructions hard to follow, quite possibly because I’m looking at them on an IPhone. I counted out the screwes and there were three of the shorter ones missing. One of the little blocks that are holders for the base was missing. The screw was still there but not the block. The block wasn’t in the packaging either so it must have been knocked off before the goods were packed. I managed to manufacture a replacement block from one of the assembly guides blocks. I would recommend two person assembly. I did find it difficult to fit the roof. In the end I have a nice, strong log store, but things could have been easier.”

“Good quality wood .Price competitive but gone up dramatically from last time.The new delivery company is very poor though- didn’t place the 2.4 meter crate in the right position and didn’t have a good quality hydronic trolley to do the delivery .Hopefully they will get a better delivery partner soon”

“Only problem I have is when I order the pallet of wood, I ask for it to be delivered on a few particular days but unfortunately the delivery company that Luxury Wood use (not their own) don't seem to get this information, but when we were notified that the delivery company was aiming to deliver it, we were able to cancel the delivery for another day, other than that everything is fine.”

“The wood is fine. The cost of shipping is astonishing. Delivery day was changed the day before it was due to arrive, even though I'd booked the time off work. This was clearly done to maximise revenue from shipping cost which was £125. Won't be using again.”

Dear Anthony, HIAB deliveries are extremely expensive especially nowadays with the ever-rising fuel cost. Your delivery location is over 4 h drive away from our warehouse hence the corresponding delivery surcharge. All customers are welcome to collect directly from our DN22 location (terms apply). “Great timber but very poor delivery service. After twice confirming the delivery date including on the day itself, The Luxury Wood Company called me to say it would be the following day. I had taken a day's vacation from work to accommodate so was not at all satisfied and was offered no recompense for my loss.”

“The 125mm x 225mm oak sleepers were delivered on time and the price was competitive. The sleepers are incredibly heavy and the quality of the wood was great. Although I was disappointed in the quite obvious saw marks from when they were cut to size. I wanted smooth and plained which I thought I'd get. Not only that but the dimension are not all consistent and some of the sleepers stick out by about 3/4mm from others. I will now have to hire or buy a belt sander to get the desired finish.”

“8 bags damaged with contents spilled. Two obviously hit by a fork lift aS damaged on outside of stack contents spilling out of cling film wrapping. Remaining six bags had been packed on stack damaged as bags were damaged on the inner stack, not burst seams but actual tears I estimate about four to five bags in all lost due to the damage. Wood pellets appear to burn well, little dust as stated. Would I buy again, Yes more care needed in handling”

“The web site described my order as a full crate but what was delivered was marked as a half crate. The dimensions did not match any of the crate descriptions on the web site. I was told that the half crate description was the nearest that fitted what was delivered. On the basis of the dimensions given on the label and that on the web site, I received a lesser amount. Who knows? The delivery was efficient.”
