I always was purchasing this product from you and always was very satisfied. I like it a lot. But this time there was a problem with my order. I asked the problem to be solved by replacing the damaged goods. Instead, I was told that I will have a full refund and to use an other provider in the future. After this attitude towards me, certainly, I will do so. This kind of experience from customer services leaves me the only way to rate "The Fish Society" and this is as "a very poor".

We really do try our best to make amends but regrettably we cannot please all of our customers all of the time, We are sorry that on this occasion you were unhappy and that things didn't work out.

I paid extra for next day delivery and my order didn't arrive. I was then told to accept the order 24 hours later as the defrosted crab would be fine. It was for a dinner party and so the whole evening was ruined. We have encountered this before with you and so I should have learned last time. I will not be using you again and will be posting a 1 star google review to deter others

We are sorry that your order arrived a day late. All our orders are packed sufficiently well to cope with such delays but in the unlikely event of a total defrost we are always happy to make amends. The email you received advised you of the delay and information regarding your order should it arrive defrosted. The £3.50 delivery charge was for a weekend delivery. We offer free weekday delivery on all orders over £40 to non remote postcodes.

I ordered frozen scampi and frozen smoked salmon. It arrived defrosted. I phoned the company to ask for a replacement as I had used them several times before. I told them the food said frozen and was not. His response was I'll refund you for the scampi but not the smoked salmon and don't come back and BANGED the phone down. I simply was asking for a replacement. Not good at all!!!!

An error on my side caused the parcel to go to wrong address and be sent back. I was told that because it was my fault I would not be offered a refund or a new delivery. I just lost my money. A goodwill gesture would have gone a long way for such a premium service. I have since asked for my account to be deleted and will never use you again, and have told friends about the negative experience.

I was happy I got my money back. I did not get the fish though. I was informed but I didn't understand, which could be an indication that the information was insufficient or that I am missing out. Maybe I need more Omega-3 for better understanding. Looking for a fishing rod or something.

Possibly the worst customer service experience I've sadly ever experienced….their delivery company failed to check the address properly as their system autocorrected my postcode so the last two letters were in correct…the postcode wasn’t even a valid postcode so can’t be entered into a satnav like the delivery company stated and no where near my address (it was a late Friday afternoon drop off)…I called about the error and was sadly treated very rudely just for trying to explain the situation talked over and hung up on by the customer service department raised it with a manager only to be blamed rather than them taking it up with their delivery company which I’d of expected most company’s with good customer service to do! Really such a shame company’s treat customers this way I can’t comment on the product as I never received it. They gave me a refund but then said they wished they hadn’t as they hadn’t realised the last two letters of my postcode were wrong and it was my fault never raised it with the delivery company who clearly lied about putting the incorrect postcode into the satnav as it didn’t exist I won’t use or recommend again!

This website is totally fraudulent! They said my order would be delivered on Saturday then posted that I had requested to have it delivered the next day! Having stayed in all day and made no such request and expecting the fish for a dinner party that evening I was told that it would still be alright to use or refreeze the fish. Please make sure you do not expect to receive your order as promised and be aware that they do not intend to refund my money even though I did not make the change. I have now been told by the courier that they had contacted the company who agreed to the redelivery without consulting me! Order at your peril! Marie Mogford

I'm pleased, that after a phone conversation, we have sorted this out and achieved a satisfactory outcome. We trust you no longer consider us to be fraudulent and that your disappointment lies solely with the courier rather than The Fish Society.

they sent me TWO crab cakes and charged me £7. also TWO fish cakes also for £7, There were bits of shell in the crab cakes, will never buy from this place again Total rip off. The dressed crab cost me £9.60p The one I bought from Morrison's was about the same size and only £5. with no shell inside

Reading your review was the first we knew of your disappointment. On our website we clearly state that the fish cakes and crab cakes are sold in packs of 2. We are however very sorry about the shell in the crab cakes which is definitely not how we would have wanted you to receive them. I have contacted you directly.

It didn’t , it was a dismal failure. I paid for the above items that were never delivered as a Birthday present to my 91 yr old mother due to an error partially on my part with the address. My mother assured me that as it had the British zip/ postal code they could actually almost gave pin pointed the address. I live in The Netherlands so was aware of the details nor being sufficient, however I always include a telephone number in case of any questions or queries .. So although I had left a phone number I was not called about the problem with the address. I was emailed at the end of a Friday afternoon & could not get a response from your customer service . I was instructed to contact the courier service, but not being within the UK, I could not get access to the courier companies website or alter a delivery address .. What pathetic service they gave me.. nothing one can do with frozen/fresh fish order on a Friday afternoon except .. dump it !!!! I’m sorry but I was so very much dissatisfied & disappointed with your customer service. Unreal ! But if that’s who you’ve chosen to represent your company & they treat customers the way I was treated, you’ll soon see that there needs to be an adjustment or you’ll have no customers ! There was no refund offered, nor a discount on a future orders. I will never use your company again .

We understand the disappointment that this caused and are sorry for that. The driver went above and beyond and called us, trying to retrieve the full address. He waited at the postcode with us on the line while we attempted to reach you anyway we could. Without the full address, the driver wasn't left with many other options than to return to the depot. There is nothing more that we could have done without complete instructions for our courier at the time of delivery.

I placed an order for my mothers 91st Birthday. The courier company wasn't given the correct instructions regarding delivery, due to an incomplete address & although they did try to check back ..ALTHOUGH I WAS REQUIRED TO SUPPLY MY TELEPHONE NUMBER ON ORDERING….with the company. I was emailed and NOT CALLED , although I my telephone number Was available. .....BUT as it was on a Friday the frozen fish remained in the courier companies depot & was duly disposed of. My mother never received her gift, and I wasn't offered a refund or a discount on a future order. After an email describing what transpired, there was an apology for my mother, but none for the terrible customer service and no credit to my account. Plus no mention that although my phone number was available, no call was forth coming to either clarify the address nor to clear up this matter. This really is most dishonest & disappointing indeed.

Hi Ingrid. We are sorry the delivery did not go as planned. Despite multiple attempts to contact you while the driver waited at the postcode, without a complete house address we were left with no option on a perishable delivery. It is a shame that this couldn't not be handled in a way we were both happy with. Kind regards

Absolutely disgusting service I would like to highly discourage everyone from ordering from the Fish Society. I understand that it is not the cheapest place to buy fish but for the price I would've expected some quality control to be in place before the order is shipped. I ordered a packet of prawns and when defrosting a large amount of liquid spilled out from the packaging and spoiled adjacent foods in the fridge, indicating that the packaging was punctured. The Fish Society customer services team refused to provide me with a refund for the item. I will not be buying from them ever again.

We are sorry you found the way we handled your concerns to be unsatisfactory. Despite our leniency with complaints in your previous orders, we felt on this occasion the defrost instructions provided on the product packaging were clear and concise to prevent this from happening. It's unfortunate that you consider our customer service to be disgusting. We are always willing to accept that we are not perfect and when we get things wrong, we set out to put it right.

I ordered the sashimi, I was surprised that it arrived frozen, assumed that all sashimi would be fresh, anyway it was inedible wet tasteless and spongey, don't recommend anyone order this item.

WE are sorry to learn that the meal was spoilt due to illness Any potential food poisoning allegation we take very seriously. We adhere to strict protocol on site in regards to food handling and safety. We keep a detailed internal record of all reports. I will email a form to you and we would be grateful if you would complete it and return to us. This will remain in our system for 12 months, should any other cases arise we will be in touch for further action
