Didn’t order fish, which I’m sure is delicious. I ordered a special gift of caviar spoons and was very disappointing. They came in a piece of folded cardboard inadequate packing,spilled the spoons out. No presentation and just looked like a child’s first spoon. My rating is based on this alone, not on your fish.

Apparently you have to accept fish even when not delivered as promised. Best to try other online fish sellers.

I wasn’t aware that the scallops I ordered would arrive frozen - I thought they were fresh. After cooking them they reduced in size so much they looked tiny! Lick cockles!

Sorry for your disappointment Nicole however, we do state on each product page whether or not an item is frozen or ambient. The scallops that you are referring to are Queen Scallops, these are a petite version of scallops which is also pointed out on the product page. You may be interested in our King Scallops next time.

It was terrible. The prawns were virtually meatless. I had ordered bigger prawns. Will not order again.

the description in the item states raw yet I received frozen. the description is misleading. your competitors state more clearly. it stated next day delivery but was not delivered the next day but the day after. don't offer next day if it's not possible. the frozen lobster was received and the legs and claws were broken off. I was given a £16 refund for a tiny broken lobster. the size of the lobster was ridiculously small for the price. this was all sent as a gift for a friend for a celebration, I was truly disappointing but worst was the embarrassment when they called me up.

We do state on each product page whether an item is frozen/chilled or ambient Raymond, apologies if this wasn't clear to you. The cut-off time for next day delivery is 12pm and you are automatically offered the next available delivery day if the deadline has passed at time of ordering. We are sorry that this didn't work out.

I can’t find the fish I ordered. I don’t know when it will be delivered, I can’t stay home whole day waiting it and I leave a message to deliver the fish after 4pm when I ordered the fish,but when I am back home at 3:00 today, I only received a email that fish has been delivered, but I can’t find it. There is no response when I call to ask. I can do nothing but leave a message here

Sorry for the frustration surrounding your order with The Fish Society. Unfortunately we do not offer a timed delivery service however, drivers can leave your order in a safe place omitting the need to stay home and wait for a delivery. I had some king crab claws for my birthday treat. I ate it for lunch but unfortunately by 5 pm I felt ill. I eat crab and shellfish regularly and have never had a bad reaction before. Suffice it to say I had a severe stomach ache for a couple of days with diarrhea and vomiting.

Did not realise Samphire would turn to mush when defrosted, not clear when I bought it so it kind of spoilt my excitement of having it for a special birthday meal, I defrosted it and then saw the note on the packet that it was only good for sauces after defrosting Gutted as I can’t seem to find Samphire anywhere Could this be made clearer at point of buying? We would love some fish from you in the future though

It was not fresh , I have had so abalone In the pass, because has been in the freezer for more then a year. And the day is showing was been freeze since 2019

I'm sorry you were not entirely happy with the abalone but the following information regarding freezer dates may be of interest: The dating policy we follow is industry standard. Most fish is set with a best before date of two years from the date of freezing. Our industrial freezers are set to a consistent temperature of -24 degrees celsius (domestic freezers are usually somewhere around -18 but not consistent) Once our fish is in your freezer we recommend you eat it within 3 months. Consuming fish beyond the 2 year BB date would not pose any safety risk but the quality would most likely begin to diminish beyond the 2 year mark.

Maybe I misunderstood but I didn't expect my order (having been caught in the UK) to be a solid block of ice. But what bothers me more is I ordered two red mullet and only received one, and that was a lower weight than I ordered, yet charged full price.

DPD failed to deliver my order because it was perishable, got a refund instead.

Sorry for your disappointment Phil but glad to see that you were refunded in full for your order. Unfortunately because we use a national courier company to deliver our fish bad deliveries can occur on occasion. We always put this right for our customers should a courier fail to deliver correctly. The issues with DPD are now being addressed and this shouldn't happen again. We do hope that you will give us the chance to redeem ourselves!

Avoid. They used dpd who left the parcel on the street in front of my house and I never received it. The company replied after a week refusing to help. Absolutely appalling.

Sorry that you are dissatisfied with your recent experience with The Fish Society and DPD Nicole. According to the email chain with colleagues the parcel was left outside your front door on the correct day. Our Terms and Conditions state very clearly that we request customers to contact us within 18 hours if there is a problem with a delivery. Unfortunately your first contact was 48hrs after the delivery was made. We are sorry that this didn't work out.

I was disappointed with my choices. The Lobster Bisque has a taste of spearmint in the blend which I cannot abide. Thus I gave the rest away... and I was SO looking forward to it! Mackerel Pate was delicious but very expensive. The Keta was nearly 3x as expensive as a comparable 100g from Waitrose. So, wasn’t the “Wow!” I was expecting.

I have ordered some seafoods but I am not happy about most of it. The mussels should have been cleaned before it was cooked. My friend experience an upset tummy from the 3 produces she has eaten idk which one was bad ; codfish sticks, crab meat, cooked prawns. It is quite expensive should have bought from the groceries. If you want to experience the joy of fresh seafoods worth of your money this is not the right place. Nevertheless, i tried their king crabs it was pretty much good and fair for the price i recommend the king crabs but others e.g cod fish sticks, crab meat, cooked prawns, cooked mussels sorry i would not.
