Dishwasher sold as graded with no damage. Having removed the packaging, I discovered a substantial dent on the door. I was offered a discount, which I accepted. When I fitted the dishwasher and put it on, it started leaking from the top corner?! I had to get a Neff engineer out, who identified some damage to the side of the appliance, now awaiting parts. Not a great experience, also I was assured that all appliances are tested by manufacturer and The Appliance Depot before they are sold, not sure how accurate this is given what happened.

Think carefully before buying from Appliance Depot …. I bought a new SMEG oven that was fittted 7 weeks ago … the main oven has never worked and 2 of the induction areas …. After the repair engineer fitted every new price possible over a few visits and lots of phone calls and emails…. It still doesn’t work … the repair engineer has recommended a new oven and the appliance depot still want it to be repaired…. It is still ongoing which is very upsetting and stressful and only 3 weeks to Christmas……update 18/12 my oven has now been replaced and I would like to thank JESS and MARTIN the REPAIR ENGINEER for helping with this ….

Wrong item arrived. When I questioned that it could be wrong I was told to take it up with the office and he quickly left. I called the office when I confirmed it was the wrong model and was curtly told I should have declined it. The model that I originally ordered was now out of stock and was told I would have to wait 13 days for it to be collected. After telling them that I did not want it sitting in my hallway for that length of time they agreed to collect it 6 days later (still bad enough). It has been collected and I am expecting my refund tomorrow but I was also alarmed at the text I received prior to delivery (see picture) let's hope someone elderly doesn't order from them. 2 metres from the delivery person!!!!!!!! I would never order from them again 😡

I understood the item was graded and was told (when arranging delivery) it was dented at the back but it wouldn't impact function. Upon arrival it looks like it has been dropped and there is a very large dent in the back which I would not expect. The packaging was also a lot poorer than expected.

Hi, we are really sorry that you feel we where not helpful in this matter, it does clearly mention on our site that we cannot deliver appliances to a property that has many steps as our drivers are not insured to take items up flights of steps. If you click delivery information on our site it will take you to https://www.theappliancedepot.co.uk/delivery this is where all information about our deliveries is noted.

“You get what you pay for” best summarizes my experience with the Appliance Depot. I found a great product online at a price that no other retailer could beat, including free delivery. So what’s not to love? I placed my order and all went fine, until delivery had to be scheduled. When I got a text assigning me a slot for 6:00-6:30 AM I assumed that the message was sent in error (who delivers kitchen appliances at 6am - this must be 6pm?) - except that it wasn’t. Customer service certainly did not mention this part of their "service" over the phone when I agreed on a date, even though the company continues to claim the opposite. As I was In the midst of a full flat renovation, with several orders placed with different companies, I made the mistake of not following up with The Appliance Depot on their text message, and following a number of missed calls in the wee hours of delivery day, I was charged a £25 fine (reduced from £50 as a sign of goodwill) for the Appliance Depot’s second attempt for delivery. They are a small company based outside of London, and petrol costs money - I understood this argument and paid, although not happily. The order eventually arrived at 6:30am a few days later - because unlike other companies, no matter what line of business, this company prioritizes “beating London traffic” over customer service/convenience and therefore can only deliver before 7am to London addressees. The kitchen extractor I had ordered was so poorly wrapped, with tape holding broken styrofoam and ripped cardboard together, that the item arrived damaged. Unfortunately, I did not see this whilst standing with the driver in the hallway in the early morning before having to leave for work, so signed the paperwork and off the driver went. Trying to avoid more cost and inconvenience from the Appliance Depot, I’m now reaching out to the manufacturer to possibly get a spare part. Whilst I’m all in favour of supporting Amazon’s and other major retailers’ small competitors such as the Appliance Depot, my - sad -conclusion with this company is NOT WORTH IT. Next time I’m back with one of the major retailers - for the service, convenience and quality assurance they provide.

Bought a “graded” Bosch dishwasher, was delivered but the appliance was not as described. Firstly the condition was poor, with far more “dings” and plastic sticky tape randomly on the edges. Most disappointing was the condition, it had clearly been used, as witnessed by the miriad of stains on the inside, plus the fact that there was salt and water inside.

Communication and delivery was excellent but the item sold to us was not as described. It was sold without box but when it arrived the display was damaged and the casing marked.

I was after a particular cooker hood that was a discontinued item. Appliance Depot had one listed as B Grade. I enquired whether the item had any damage or missing parts and was told as far as they know no but it arrived with damage in 3 separate areas - the most noticable damage was to the chimney section where the metal was crinkled. Didn't get a reply when I emailed them about it. The item works ok as the damage is only cosmetic.

The first oven arrived in pieces and they were very good at this point in sorting it out my refund as they didn't have a replacement. I eventually bought a different oven and used a bank transfer after discussing what had happened with John the manager. However I never received an invoice or receipt which I had on the previous purchase, presumably because it was over the phone and not through their online system. Everything was delivered Ok and worked for a while but then it developed a fault that should be covered with their 1 year warranty. I have proof of purchase through my bank statements but its been over 3 weeks of calling without ever getting the promised call back. Steven and John are utterly disinterested and somewhat curt in their response as they blame me for not having an invoice number. Its sad as initially they seemed a good company but I guess its not until something goes wrong do you really get to know a company's customer service.

Microwave was delivered in very poor packaging (no box) with loose rattling accessories. My husband sliced his finger on the unwrapped metal. Upon installation it failed to work. On contacting the Appliance Depot about this, we were told to contact Smeg to arrange repair!

I've used the Appliance Depot three times, now - once for a graded dishwasher which arrived on schedule and worked perfectly; once for a built in cooker which was much the same. Lastly, I bought a graded Siemens built in column fridge from them. It arrived, late - once installed, it simply didn't work. I contacted them, expecting a refund or replacement, but was fobbed off with 'you'll have to contact the manufacturer and make a warranty claim'. I explained that, under the Sale of Goods Act (1979), a Manufacturer's Warranty was supplemental to the contract which I had with them. John assured me that he was familiar with the Act, but could (was prepared) to do absolutely nothing else. This was shortly before Christmas. On Christmas Eve, I had to go to Argos and buy another Fridge. I had initiated a Trading Standards case against J&S Home Appliances, but truly couldn't live with being spiteful enough to pursue it. My fridge is still not working. In short - they offer decent kit, at a reasonable price - but if anything's wrong, they have absolutely no interest in knowing. I would never buy from these people again, and strongly advise others not to do so.

I bought a discounted fridge with dents but sold as in working order. When it did not arrive I was told that it had fallen over and it could not be sold to me but they had a different model so I went for that. It arrived but without all the filters and pipes and it did not work. Called the brand engineer out to fix who said it had been tampered with and re-gassed and could not be repaired and was not covered by the manufacturers guarantee as promised. We called alliance depot, they said they'd ring back but didn't, we called again and again the didn't ring back when they said they would but the third time we got through to the right person and they refunded us in full within minutes. I spent £50 buying a load of pipes and filters I can't use and I will have to pay to dispose of their junk fridge. Broken heated and broke.
