“I had a great time during the course.I got a lot and improved my teaching skills a lot thight that my students have noteced these days.I liked the video classes.It was struggling for me teaching large classes but now I find myself confident and improved my job a lot and especially online one.No previous experience but following your guide I am improving and enjoying teaching online.I just wait to continue my training in more specific area with you.”

“Excellent courses. Took the 30-Hour course in 2011, which helped change my life forever by moving to China. Spent 12 years there. Now I'm back in the UK to move on to the next phase of my career. Did the 200-Hour online course and now aiming to go to Sevilla, Spain. It works. The course is well laid out, if a little dated aesthetically, and the tutors are on point; very supportive too. The photo is just after I finished my last class in 702, my classroom of 12 years. 3 days later, I left China. I hope it can change your life as it did mine. ❤️ Next stop, SEVILLA! ❤️”

“I felt the grammar course was the most thorough and explained the concepts well. However, oftentimes the grammar of the writing in the course itself was wrong or sloppy. There were misspellings, mispunctuation, etc. I also did not feel like the practice/graded quizzes tested my knowledge. A lot of the questions were easily solved just by looking at the phrasing or verbage used within them. At the end of the quizzes, there was no explanation as to which answer was correct and why. Also, if one of the quiz questions was marked as incorrect, the question would be completely different when going back for the second or third attempt. So there was always the doubt of "what was the answer to that original question?" The post-unit assignments actually got me thinking and made me go back to important parts of the unit to review. Perhaps there could be more interactive ways to learn throughout the course. If the live classroom videos had quiz questions throughout, this could be a good way to engage the viewer.”

“This course is poorly designed for users from the US. The zoom virtual meeting were limited and during the middle of the night for US time zone. There were only a few options to chose from and none accommodated the US time. Also the zoom classes were hours long which was overwhelming given the amount of material needed to do and learn. Overall, the module assignments were graded by an online tutor who gives feedback yet you cannot ask or reply to them.”

We certainly have our Zoom virtual meetings at all times throughout the day and night, so as to accommodate our students all over the world. These can be chosen by the student at any time throughout their online course. It is also not essential to have completed your full course before attending the Zoom sessions, but these sessions can also be attended after your online course expires if preferred - we always leave this choice up to the student. Regarding the module assignments, we appreciate your recognition of the feedback provided by our online tutors. However, you will have received an email from your tutor when you first signed up detailing their direct contact details. So you could certainly have reached out to them direct at any time. “The course was honestly better than I expected, it tried to utilize active learning principles by have interactive activities throughout the lessons and covered a more student-centric way of teaching. I found the organization of the lessons somewhat haphazard; especially the grammar course. For me the concepts didn't flow nicely together rather it felt like a bit a whiplash going back and forth between concepts. The observation course was also good, but I think it's lacking a "Medium" example. As a first-time teacher their are many mistakes that you make out of good intentions... like turning your back to your students to write on the board, not setting good expectations with students...etc. So having a medium example and an assignment to provide critiques I think would be beneficial for students. Having some sort of resource that goes more in-depth into the levels (beginner, intermediate, pre-intermediate...etc.) that identifies what they should be learning, and what they are already expected to know would be great. The lesson provided an overview but for me it's still unclear what those levels actually mean in detail and how to prepare lessons to meet each levels abilities. I also think the phone teaching course could be updated. I would probably rename it online teaching and having the phone teaching as a module within it given the popularity of online teaching especially after covid. All in all it was a good course and even though I already had a lot of experience as an educator, this course provided me with a good foundation to get started as a TEFL teacher.”
