The site says I still have one assignment to grade and am not completed. It was submitted more than 5 days ago. That submittal was pursuing to incorrect grading of previous submittal as being exactly like the one before it, which it was not. So it has been somewhat longer.

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear there was a delay in your course updating - the best way forward would have been to contact the customer service team who can help look into any issues. However I see this was already resolved and you have received your certificate. Congratulations on completing your course! Warm regards, The TEFL Org Team

The educational staff needs to remember the students can be from any age group. What one might say to a young student may not be the same response to a much older student. The course material was challenging, but it was great. Perfect review of grammar. Thanks for the vote of confidence and I’m looking forward to this next chapter.

Hi Jamar, We really appreciate you sharing your perspective on teaching learners of different ages. You’re absolutely right that approaches can vary depending on the student, and it’s helpful for us to hear that feedback. We’re also glad to hear you found the course challenging in a positive way and that the grammar review stood out for you. Best of luck as you move into the next chapter of your TEFL journey. I was very disappointed in the grading standards of this course. I felt like, even though I demonstrated a deep understanding of the assigned material, my assignments were still failed, simply because the execution was unorthodox. I believe the grading system the tutors used was not focused on ensuring students learn the material and can use it effectively, but that they’re able to use it exactly how everyone else does, without any flexibility. The information provided throughout the videos and such was very helpful to my understanding of the course, however.

Hello friends, It's my pleasure to grab a chance learn this course, amusing. However, I have some comments about this course. Overall, this course rated above average but there is something can improve, the affluent assignment content involved inside , as the time limited count is narrow, if it is actual practise in class, it can't finish every session on time, I really enjoyed the grammar and sentence structure part. Thanks. Also, last week, there's is some mistakes on my TEFL cert, Kindly correct it at your earliest convenience. My Correct name is Serena Lim, changed it and send it via email.( Yee is middle name only ) Have a nice day. Warm regards Serena Lim

I found the courses in the 120-hour course to be a little lacking in depth, especially after the grammar course. The grammar course had much more engagement and less samples. I felt that was missing from the methodology courses. I very much would have liked to see sample lessons for the large class and online teaching.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you felt the later modules lacked depth. We’ll pass this on to our content team and explore adding more sample lessons for large classes and online teaching to complement the methodology sections. If you’d like, we can point you to additional resources or tailor recommendations to your teaching goals. Warm regards, The TEFL Org Team

There was a number of typos throughout the course and there was also an issue with one my exams saying the correct answer was wrong, I had to contact support for this and it took almost a week to sort because the email replies were so slow. Long with that I felt the emails weren't actually being read properly, that's based on the responses I was receiving. In the end I had to call support as I was not getting anywhere over email and this delayed my completion by a week. My tutor Angie didn't have access to the course which is not her fault, but I found that a bit odd. She was very helpful otherwise and I thought her feedback was always very constructive.

Overall felt the course was good and I certainly found the TEFL staff I contacted to be friendly and helpful. There are a few mistakes in the course work - the odd typo, stray comma, transcription missing, etc - that I thought was a bit odd, given it's a course to teach us to teach English! I wished I'd kept a note of these as I went through the modules but it didn't occur to me until I was a good way through so no time to go back.

I recently completed the TEFL Org 120-hour course (with tutor Alex Semakin) and did receive my certificate in the end, but I feel it’s important to share some of the challenges I encountered along the way. The course itself is affordable (I paid 180 euros with a “September discount”), and the structure is straightforward. However, my main concern lies with the feedback process. Much of the feedback I received seemed to be based on AI detection tools rather than the tutor’s own professional evaluation. My last assignments were flagged as “AI-generated” simply because they were polished or included standard activities such as wrap-up feedback, which was frustrating as these are widely used teaching practices. At times, the comments felt generic and repetitive, offering little concrete guidance on how to improve. As someone with a background in writing and education, I take pride in the quality of my work, so it was disheartening to be told my work was “too polished” to be genuine. I believe students deserve constructive, personalised feedback that recognises their effort rather than automatic assumptions of misconduct. That being said, I did complete the programme and achieve certification, and the course material itself can be useful if approached independently. My hope is that TEFL Org will take steps to improve the feedback system—ensuring tutors rely more on their teaching expertise than on AI tools, and that feedback is specific, encouraging, and tailored to each student. In conclusion, the qualification is achievable, but the learning experience would be greatly improved if the feedback process became more human, supportive, and focused on helping students grow.

The course was overall very well structured, but at times I felt that some exercises could have benefited from clearer and more detailed explanations. I also believe it would be helpful to provide guidance on how to create lesson sequences that include multiple lesson plans for each level. This way, teachers know exactly where to begin and how to progress with each student. Finally, it would be a great addition to include a PDF syllabus summarizing everything covered in the course, along with more supplementary resources.

I did complete the full 120 hours of lessons, but I don’t feel that I came away with knowledge as solid as the amount of time would suggest. Even though there was a lot of content, it was delivered in a boring way. The course was not very interactive, so a lot of things just slipped by. Of course, many topics had to be covered, and maybe that was the issue. Especially, the audio lessons with students were too long and often very boring :(

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you found parts of the course less engaging, particularly the audio lessons. We aim to cover a wide range of essential topics in a clear and practical way, but we appreciate that different learning styles respond differently to various formats. We’re glad you completed the full 120 hours, and we hope you can still take the knowledge gained forward as you begin your teaching journey. The TEFL Org Team.

The course material was good, but I had a rather negative experience with my tutor. She accused me of using AI on an assignment, and after I insisted it was my own work, she proceeded to fail all of my assignments repeatedly for weeks for minor errors. I searched about the website for a way to contact the company for a new tutor, but could not find a feedback contact option that did not go by way of my tutor. This was a petty waste of my time, and I would like to see more professinalism in future. My tutor was Alex.

Most of the lessons were well written and they helped me learn, but when it came to written assignments they want such specific information for lesson plans that was difficult to do in the word count limit, or wasn’t well explained in the directions.

I considered the Grammar and some of the Presntation modules to be invaluable. There was some of the methodology that I considered to be cumbersome and inefficient when it comes to best devivery and learning outcomes. However I realise this course was designed for classes of multiple differing foreign language students and not so much students of the same ethnic background, where starting with a phrase or words in their own language can be greatly benificial to understanding and respectful in two way learning and communication. The certificate that states it is a 120 hour course, I feel is a bit of a put down/ let down. The amount of hours taken or guestimated to be taken is not a reflection of ones personal abilities and reeks a bit of university educated snobbery that undermines those of broad life experience in the vocational education training sector. I am keen now to get into the serious business of teaching English and very happy to be starting teaching young people with fresh minds and perspectives. I hope later to combine my life skills to teach Maritime English to Seafarers and I have already started practising teaching ships officers of foreign nationalities that need to be conversant in English for safe navigation amd communication purposes. The Singapore straits traffic being one prime example. I haven't gotten back to your feedback, forum or career/ employment opportunities pages yet and hope I still have access. Thank you it has been for me a great proggessive learning experience. Kind regards, David Rainbow.

Hi David, Thank you for your detailed review! We’re glad to hear you found the Grammar and Presentation modules invaluable. Your insights on the methodology are appreciated, and we understand how it can be shaped by the diverse backgrounds of students. As for the certificate, we understand that the stated course hours don’t always reflect the full picture of someone’s background or ability. The 120-hour label is what is widely recognised and expected by employers world-wide as a minimum standard, rather than a reflection of individual experience - so we’re proud to support people from all walks of life in stepping into TEFL with confidence. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors! Warm regards, The TEFL Org Team

I found the content challenging and a great refresher for terms and concepts I had forgotten about. However, this course did not do a great job teaching how to write a lesson plan. What would have been more effective is to show the lesson plan in conjunction with the video. I also wish there was more diversity with the skill level of the videos. It was the same group for most of the videos, whom I thought had a pretty good grasp on English. But again, telling us what level those groups were would have been helpful.

I did a TEFL course in order to get access to certain job vacancies I hadn't seen anywhere else. I passed the course (teaching neurodiverse students), which I found interesting and useful. I'm sure it will be a useful addition to my CV. However, the job vacancy I am less happy with. I want to teach during my summer break in Ukraine or Poland and have secured a couple of short engagements in Poland outside of TEFL.org. The TEFL.org vacancy shown for a summer camp has 3 different ways to contact them and they have not replied on any of them. As I have not seen this camp advertised anywhere else, I am starting to think that it doesn't exist. Certainly, other places at least have the courtesy to send you a 'thanks, but no thanks' email or indeed an automatically generated 'Don't call us, we'll call you' reply. In this case, zero. Can you please confirm whether this vacancy is indeed a genuine offer?

The course is easy to take online, I like the mix of text, instructional videos and teaching videos and the self paced set up. I also liked that I could retake a test if my score was too low. However I felt the Methodology course is outdated, and I did not think I learned how to teach online 1 to 1 even after I specifically asked about that before I bought the course. In addition I found a few errors when I Googled answers that I didn't understand. I have taught public school (many years ago) and have been tutoring ESL online for 3 years and I do not think I learned anything to help me improve my teaching and increase my students' fluency.

This course was okay overall. I found the content to be helpful as a general overview of how to teach with the TEFL method. There were opportunities to upgrade and purchase more in depth content for different teaching areas. I would have rated this higher except my homework was an issue. The lesson planning was hard and while I passed those assignments, I still do not truly feel like I understand the correct methodology. The assignments were given feedback and it seemed like there was so much incorrect that I don't know why they would have passed.
