Very nice overall. I like the PPP style which is very structural and organised for trainees to learn how to teach. The course designs are also comprehensive and inclusive, covering large classes and online teaching strategies. Last but not least, the feedback from the tutor is very helpful as alternative lesson plans are suggested for more ideas.

I found the TEFL course very useful and easy to follow. The content was clearly structured, and the lessons were presented in a way that made complex topics simple to understand. Overall, it was a practical and engaging experience that has given me valuable tools for teaching, which, hoepfully, I will put in practice soon!!!

Great content and well organized lessons. I’m enjoying it so far but I recommend finding a better way to grade students work instead of relying solely on AI “detection” tools.

Hello friends, It's my pleasure to grab a chance learn this course, amusing. However, I have some comments about this course. Overall, this course rated above average but there is something can improve, the affluent assignment content involved inside , as the time limited count is narrow, if it is actual practise in class, it can't finish every session on time, I really enjoyed the grammar and sentence structure part. Thanks. Also, last week, there's is some mistakes on my TEFL cert, Kindly correct it at your earliest convenience. My Correct name is Serena Lim, changed it and send it via email.( Yee is middle name only ) Have a nice day. Warm regards Serena Lim

The while course was excellent to participate in. From the site being clearly laid out and easy to navigate to the content being engaging, everything was great. The tutor was helpful and clear in the feedback. The only thing that I would have liked would be an overall progress bar for the whole 120 course (in my case) rather than just the progress bars in each breakdown of the course.

Hi Daniel, Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re thrilled you found the course engaging and the tutor’s feedback helpful. I’ve noted your feedback about an overall progress bar for the entire 120‑hour course and will pass it to our team - it's something we're always looking into, so this helps us know we're on the right track! If you’d like any guidance on next steps or have further suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at info@tefl.org. Warm regards, The TEFL Org Team

I found the courses in the 120-hour course to be a little lacking in depth, especially after the grammar course. The grammar course had much more engagement and less samples. I felt that was missing from the methodology courses. I very much would have liked to see sample lessons for the large class and online teaching.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you felt the later modules lacked depth. We’ll pass this on to our content team and explore adding more sample lessons for large classes and online teaching to complement the methodology sections. If you’d like, we can point you to additional resources or tailor recommendations to your teaching goals. Warm regards, The TEFL Org Team

The courses were amazing, both the overall 200-hour level 5 course and the young learners course. The only thing I would caution is the bundling. I bundled these set of courses however, the young learners course was due well before the main course. I had no knowledge which made the young learners course slightly more difficult than it would have been if it would have been due for completion after the main courses. Overall the experience and knowledge I gained from the courses and my tutor was beyond exceptional!

Hi Adrienne, Thank you for sharing your kind words. We’re thrilled you enjoyed both the 200-hour level 5 course and the Young Learners course, and we're sorry to hear about the issue you experienced when bundling your courses. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback, and sorry for the delay. I wanted to let it saturate a bit so I could provide you a well thought-out response. Before I begin, I’d like to briefly share my background so you understand my perspective. I’m a native New Orleanian who was fortunate to have solid education and a few hardcore English teachers–which I hated at the time, but grateful for today. The South has it’s own slang, twang and way of communicating and thinking. But I moved to Los Angeles some thirty years ago to pursue acting then screenwriting. L.A. is an animal unto itself–with every variety of humanity you would ever hope to meet–requiring the innate skill to sift through daily lies, what is said versus what is meant–while still maintaining dignity. I am not an academic. Don’t have a PhD. What I do have is a life infused in communication-based roles: corporate sales training, corporate presentation, 15+ years in the service industry working with every personality type imaginable. I currently work in film and television production — as crew, stand-in, principal actor, and background performer — and have written several screenplays. This experience has given me a very clear, direct manner of speaking (and listening) sometimes to my benefit and sometimes not. While English may not be considered a “romantic” language, it is a language that is more than just dialogue–it’s looks, hesitations, sounds, body language and ever changing. Having now completed both the Level 5 TEFL and the Business English teaching course, this is my assessment. 1. Course Density and Accessibility The course is extremely dense in places. Methodology Unit 8 on Phonology is the longest at 38 modules, but it felt twice as long. It had me second-guessing my ability to get through the material, and I’m a native speaker with a firm grasp on what I’m trying to accomplish. Non-native English speakers without a strong academic English background must feel overwhelmed. The content is valuable and necessary, but in my opinion could be split into at least two modules if not three without losing its importance. working teachers who will be in classrooms within months. Suggestion: Simplify explanations wherever possible and include more “teacher voice” rather than academic voice in certain sections. 2. British vs. American Terminology As an American student, I needed to mentally translate several grammar terms and usage notes into terminology that would be natural for North American learners. Exposure to both systems is valuable, but at times it slowed my learning process unnecessarily. That may be more “my problem” than a course problem. Early on I thought I had chosen the wrong version, only to learn from Jennifer in the chat that there was no American version of Level 5, and for what I want to do—teach professionals in Tokyo–this was the correct path. My initial reaction was to offer a Level 5 American course. In retrospect, I’m not sure that would be beneficial. I am an American and I have a different perspective simply by where I was raised. I have gratefully made friends out of complete strangers in Japan and have casually tutored a few people without any formal teacher training. Suggestion: (This was done in a couple of teaching videos) Consider offering side-by-side US/UK terminology notes in the grammar units. Only if it didn’t “muddy the waters” so to speak. 3. Practical Application The most valuable parts of the program were the concrete examples: sample PPP lessons, activity suggestions, assignment samples, and tutor comments. Any time the course showed how to apply a concept in a classroom, the learning was immediate. I was grateful for the introduction videos at the beginning of each unit and appreciated the video explanations along the way, rather than having to read large blocks of text. 4. Business English Module Notes Oddly, the business module was more “American” in tone and more in line with my specific goal in Tokyo. However, I wish there had been more realistic examples of actual business-language challenges: persuasive language, negotiation language, telephone openers, and common corporate vocabulary in context. My suggestion would be to provide short realistic dialogues from common corporate interactions and add simple case studies, even one- or two-paragraph examples. Whether you’re trying to make a sale or simply working along side English-speaking counterparts, Business English is not only about correct grammar; it’s also about tone, pacing, hesitation, rapport, and listening to what is and isn’t said. More practical content geared toward real conversations would greatly benefit first-time Business English teachers. 5. Final Reflections Even though my American brain initially fought against some of the British terminology and certain frameworks, over time I truly appreciated it. It was the challenge I needed to get me out of my own comfort zone. The structured approach forced me to slow down, analyze language differently, and understand the mechanics behind what I use naturally as a native speaker. I wanted to be a teacher when I was younger but felt I didn’t have enough life experience to offer. Today, that’s no longer the case. I’m grateful to TEFL for giving me a clear, practical avenue into what feels like a “third act” of my professional life. The course has helped me see a way forward where I can use my communication background to guide others with clarity and confidence. I would especially like to thank Alex for his patience and concise assignment feedback His comments made a meaningful difference in how I approached lesson structuring. Thank you again for the opportunity to learn, and for taking the time to read my perspective.

Worst experience of my life. Every assignment I turned in was being flagged as AI and no feedback was given as to how or why. I have 2 associates degrees, a bachelors of science, and 2 years of pharmacology and drug development in grad school. Never in my life have until TEFL.org have I been met with so many false and hurtful accusations with zero reasoning or evidence to back it up. Only once I paid additional extension fees and complained about TEFL.org being a scam was when the company finally approved my paper (that I had revised and resubmitted 4 times with 0 feedback from tutors).

Hi Patrick, We’re really sorry for the difficulty you described. The experiences you’ve shared don’t meet the standard we aim for, and we understand how frustrating it must have been to receive AI-flag feedback without clear guidance. I can see that your tutor had been providing feedback, but they didn't seem to receive any direct messages from you with regards to this. We would like to look into this further. If you’re open to it, please contact our support team and the specified assignments so we can investigate this further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Warm regards, The TEFL Org Team

My TEFL experience was genuinely amazing. I loved the self paced system - being able to study whenever I wanted without pressure of fixed schedules. The course itself is very complete and covers all the aspects we need to confidently teach English. The team behind the course, from the service members to the turtors and teachers, were incredibly caring and took their role seriously. Whenever I had a question, they were supportive and professional. I also really appreciate that this TEFL certification opens real opportunities to move abroad, teach English, and even hel with visa processes. It truely feels like an investment in my future. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone considering teaching English internationally.

I have recently acquired a diploma of 200-hour TEFL, certificates of Teaching Business English, Exam Preparation, Teaching YL and TEAP. The courses target the language and methodology which should be explicitly taught to the target language group and each age group is described above my expectations. I have managed to pass as many courses as are available due to their comprehension and structure, which are made thoughtfully and efficiently prepared to use in real-life situations. A big ‘Thank you’ to the people who have prepared such a throughout syllabus which bases the curriculum and teaching resources to the learner’s needs! Your units are well-executed with terms and rules, theory which is applicable and have answers for everything that comes to mind when preparing for the assignments!
