“I’m absolutely chuffed with my course, particularly regarding the feedback I’ve received. This applies both to the assignments I cleared on the first attempt and those that required a bit of reworking. On a couple of occasions, I reached out to my tutor, Thomas, for some extra guidance; he was incredibly supportive and nothing short of brilliant.”

“I attended the 20hr virtual class to learn about lesson planning and practice giving mini lessons using PPP and receptive skills approaches. Our course leader was an excellent teacher, full of wisdom and advice gained from years of experience and a deep understanding of applying theory to teaching practice. I came away with a better understanding of my strengths and weakness and what aspects of my planning and teaching I need to focus on to become more competent. It was a fun and engaging course full of clear examples and there were some great model lessons that made the theory concrete and actionable. I thoroughly recommend this course, you are learning from the best teachers. The only part I found a bit tricky was using the tech for the lesson practice. Most people were fine with this and they do actually do a handy pre-course and some in-class support on Zoom, so it's not really an issue, but depends on your preference for virtual course versus whether you can get to a course in physical classroom. Overall fantastic course, from the practice and course leaders feedback on your and other learners lessons you will come away more confident, full of useful ideas and know what to work on to realise your full potential.”

“The TEFL Org program, in particular the 120 hour is an integrative program, which adresses several key points to teach english to non-native speakers. The competences and the approach that display are up to date, and provides various tools to become a competitive English teacher. Although at the same time, due to the same reason, as it covers several topics, such as grammar, lesson planification, teaching young students, etc, they cannot be explored in depth. One topic that I found that is lacking is the assesment of student's level of English, which is a very important topic. Overall, I think the course is very complete, and useful program”

“I was not satisfied with this TEFL course. The amount of coursework required was excessive for a certificate-level program. It was very time-consuming and more demanding than expected, without a clear balance between workload and practical benefit. Streamlining assignments and focusing more on practical teaching skills rather than extensive written coursework would have made for a better experience for me. I found the assessment process challenging because the tutor I was assigned was very nitpicky on some assignments. The focus on minor details often overshadowed the overall teaching objectives and added unnecessary stress for a certificate program. The new tutor I was assigned was much clearer in explaining why and what I needed to do to pass some assignments.”

We understand that the workload felt heavier than expected, especially for a certificate-level course. Our courses are intentionally detailed because we want TEFL Org graduates to be recognised worldwide as well-trained, capable teachers who are fully prepared for the classroom. That level of depth is designed to give employers confidence and to ensure our certificates genuinely reflect strong teaching competence, not just completion. This is why our certificates are recognised by employers world wide. That said, we completely appreciate that learning styles differ, and what feels thorough and reassuring to one learner can feel overwhelming to another. As you completed the online only course perhaps you may want to consider the live teaching practice courses that we also offer. These look at the practical side of teaching over the methodology given online. Our tutor feedback should always feel constructive and supportive, so we’re glad to hear that your second tutor was clearer and helped you understand exactly what was needed to pass.
