“Some of these modules are pretty demanding for someone who has very little experience with formal teaching. Please budget your time wisely and use the forums for guidance. It would have been better if we could have greater access to guidance from our assigned tutors.”

“The courses have been easy to navigate and complete. I have enjoyed the mix of text, video and quiz learning. I wish the assignment feedback was more than just "You've passed 100%". I would appreciate having actual feedback to know in which areas my strengths and weaknesses lie.”

“Terl.org is one of the best TEFL course provider, I loved the experience of learning from here. “I enjoyed the coursework. I’ve been homeschooling and teaching English for a long time. The course was well-structured, easy to follow, and packed with useful information. “TEFL ORG is the perfect organisation to study to be TEFL or TESOL. The modules were well structured and gave ample information, guidance and examples on becoming a tutor. I like that you could study on your own time. This gave me the flexibilty I needed in my schedule. The leaders were always there for support and guidance along the way throughout your assignmnets. I believe that this is an all round comprehensive program that anyone can do. The classroom lessons and extra videos all helped with understanding what it takes to accomplish your goal as a TEFL. I would recommend this program to others who are interested in pursuing their goals and dreams in the ESL world.”

“I completed 120-hours TEFL online course and I enjoyed it a lot! At first I was expecting it to be boring and not very engaging, but I couldn't have been more wrong! The contents of each module were very well delivered and there was a very good balance of reading, video observations and short lectures. The content was relevant and very accurate, giving a clear and precise instructions on how to structure and deliver a lesson, and how to keep the students engaged and interested. The teachers knew what they were talking about, it wasn't just an empty theory. I received a very good feedback after submitting each assignment, which highlighted good points, but also suggested further possible changes, to make the content even more engaging. I have no experience in teaching, but now I feel confident enough to start thinking about my next steps on the TEFL journey. I recommend the course to anyone, who still has any doubts about enrolling - it is well worth it!”

“I believe that TEFL offered a reasonably priced course. The modules were thorough and covered all the necessary basis one needs to become a TEFL tutor. My personal lecturer was very supportive to both personal and academic needs. I liked that you could pursue your studies on your own time. This gave flexibility to students who may have families or jobs. The courses were comprehensible and well organised. I would recommend others to pursue this course with TEFL if looking for a new job or way of life.”

“Overall felt the course was good and I certainly found the TEFL staff I contacted to be friendly and helpful. There are a few mistakes in the course work - the odd typo, stray comma, transcription missing, etc - that I thought was a bit odd, given it's a course to teach us to teach English! I wished I'd kept a note of these as I went through the modules but it didn't occur to me until I was a good way through so no time to go back.”

“I recently completed the TEFL Org 120-hour course (with tutor Alex Semakin) and did receive my certificate in the end, but I feel it’s important to share some of the challenges I encountered along the way. The course itself is affordable (I paid 180 euros with a “September discount”), and the structure is straightforward. However, my main concern lies with the feedback process. Much of the feedback I received seemed to be based on AI detection tools rather than the tutor’s own professional evaluation. My last assignments were flagged as “AI-generated” simply because they were polished or included standard activities such as wrap-up feedback, which was frustrating as these are widely used teaching practices. At times, the comments felt generic and repetitive, offering little concrete guidance on how to improve. As someone with a background in writing and education, I take pride in the quality of my work, so it was disheartening to be told my work was “too polished” to be genuine. I believe students deserve constructive, personalised feedback that recognises their effort rather than automatic assumptions of misconduct. That being said, I did complete the programme and achieve certification, and the course material itself can be useful if approached independently. My hope is that TEFL Org will take steps to improve the feedback system—ensuring tutors rely more on their teaching expertise than on AI tools, and that feedback is specific, encouraging, and tailored to each student. In conclusion, the qualification is achievable, but the learning experience would be greatly improved if the feedback process became more human, supportive, and focused on helping students grow.”
