“The course was interesting, and mostly very well presented. I did not enjoy some modules that were all readding and written in American English. One presenter is very poor, but the rest are great. Some good resources available and hints and tips.”

“A thorough course with 2/5 modules that provided excellent videos as well as an opportunity to read the information. I personally found the videos a great way to learn. I was hugely disappointed that the 'Teaching Large Classes' module had absolutely no video footage of demonstrating what teaching this type of group may look like. The videos up to this point demonstrate teaching adults in small groups of 6 or 8. The concept of teaching 30 people in a regular school environment is a massive leap, therefore suggesting large classes could be 60-100 people is an exponential leap. In my view, (as a secondary school teacher) this absolutely needs video footage to show how to implement the teaching styles advised. I was hugely disappointed with this module. A vision is a thousand words. Seeing this working would definitely give me a positive vision towards accepting such a challenge. As it is, I feel the teaching styles suggested are currently something that looks good on paper, but the reality implimenting them, is probably less successful. I would like to know why this is not a visual element of the course? It seems logical to show 'teachers' what this would look like given Western education does not have such large classes and therefore the concept is not on our radar. I definitely recommend this being addressed within the course. I struggle with dry eye syndrome so having 2 of the 5 modules spoken through as videos really helped. It meant less screen time reading. I would have found that really helpful in the other 3 modules as I could have listened rather than read them. Having a quiz element at the end of topics was a good way to refresh learning for me and not too pressured, so I enjoyed doing them. I bought the course in hast during Black Friday, in November 2025, thinking it was a deal, however, I've seen it as the same deal all the time. This feels disappointing. To add to my disappointment, I was also under the impression I could start the course when I wanted. I knew I was away for 2 months and that my intended start date was late Jan 2026. Unaware my start date was the day I purchased the course, I lost 2 months working time on it and had to purchase extra time. I feel this was not explained clearly when purchasing the course. I would recommend the course. I have learnt much given English Language is not my teaching subject at work.”

“It would be helpful to have an indication at the start of each module, the expected duration (i.e. the hours indicated on the certificate) - this would help a lot with time planning. The assignemtns could be structured much clearer. From the forums it is clear, that I am not the only one with this opinion and it is sometime unclear what is really required. Furthermore, a better question deliniation would improve the assignments too. If a subsequent question has nothing to do with the previous, it would be better to deliniate it as "Question 2" and not as " task 2 or a. b. c. under Question 1", for example. Questions seem to be confusing, becuase one tries to understand them in light of other tasks grouped under the same question. With one of the lesson plans, it was designated a Question number and then had a., b., c... subsections. This would suggest that these need to be answered separately. It would be more helpful it at the start of the question, it states that the follwoing points need to be included in a sinlge lesson plan, rather than trying to answer each subsection separately. This helps to not waste one the the attempts when submitting the assignments for marking.”

“Easy to complete, but really hones in on grammar-based teaching. If you are in a Krashen camp of linguistic acquisition, this course will go against everything you believe. But if you think the best way to learn is to go one grammatical principle at a time, have at it.”

“The course itself was good. All the people in the videos were great, except for one (male) instructor who I felt was pretty boring (won’t mention names). Whilst the overall course was good, it would be beneficial to have someone check over all your video content as a few wouldn’t load or had glitches in it (they would play for awhile then stop. Also, some of the videos in the latter units were from 2024. No one wants to watch a two year old video when it comes to education. Spend some time creating new videos for each year as websites/apps/etc have changed and videos need to be always with updated/current information. Thank you”

“A well organised course. I found the classroom settings, not really classrooms. Students had no desks. The settings looked like an office that had been repurposed. No displays on the walls. Otherwise it seemed a good course. Being a retired science teacher, teaching English as a foreign language is quite a challenge.”

“I enjoyed TEFL until the final course. To have so much of a focus on pushing ai, specifically chatgpt on students or teachers when they are unsure was actually distrubing. It sadly made me quesiton my certificate and if i went with the best option for teaching english. I want to be an instructor that supports learners & gets people excited to learn. From the environmental, legal, & mental health issues arising from AI globally to have a program not only push that but make it as questions on the quizzes as required options to promote is disturbing.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed this course and appreciate how practical it is. I would recommend you to anyone. One suggestion I have is to have at least 1 or 2 video examples of teaching a large class. The video examples from the other classes were so helpful, and I feel watching someone teach a larger class would also be beneficial.”
