I decided to take the paid consultation because after browsing for several websites which offer similar services, MediateUK website was the only one which offered lots and lots of FREE guidance (a rarity in this $$ paying world)..which was refreshing. This then gave me the confidence to call up their number. Again the experience was extremely customer friendly with the person explaining everything as clearly as possible (without rushing to keep the phone down or trying to push the paid consultation service). She was also knowledgeable and explained and even followed up with an email. At this point, I definitely wanted to book the 25paid 30-minute consultation. On the day, Ali (the MD) clearly explained everything and within 5 minutes of speaking to him, I think I have made up my mind to go with their services. Once I have completed the proceedings, I will definitely leave another review....and going by what I have seen and experienced so far, will be surprised if its going to be

The case manager lost track of email threads and communication was poor in terms of asking to speak to a manager and getting back to both parties. Staying neutral did not always feel that way as I was once pulled up on my communication and took that on board going forward, however on three separate occasions the other party in our matter was not called out. The mediator was really good very calm and noted everything well. I was informed that the person who tracks emails and admin had lost track and would be removed from doing this on my case going forward however a week later was responding to emails from both parties. I asked for next steps and these were clearly sent out by another member of the team and I am in what I believe to be the final stage of my mediation. This final service is well priced and hopefully will be an end to a sometimes frustrating evolution.

Didn't start off well as the first mediator left after the initial call so handover was required - these things happen. We both struggled with the second mediator. We both knew what we wanted to achieve and were willing to work together but felt like the mediator was against us all the way. Although we were told it was 'our time', more than half of every session was spent updating figures and for the remainder we were largely dictated what we could discuss and how we could discuss it. When we expressed frustration the mediator was visibly upset and went on an extended monologue about how she was bound by process etc. etc. When we complained in writing we were told that it was due to regulation. I understand about the regulation but feel the lack of flexibility was poor and the attitude was negative and unhelpful. Templates were, in my opinion, confused and not fit for purpose. There was no consideration of, for example, whether assets shared were ISA or non-ISA, CGT liability etc. Why ask us to supply figures in one format then collate them in the meeting in another format? Why collate figures beforehand at all if they have to be collated every session online? Eventually our second mediator bailed on us. Our third mediator, Chris, who we had for the last two sessions was excellent, calm, professional, had a good understanding (and consideration) of our situation, what we were trying to achieve and was focused on getting us there - despite the structural issues of the process and documentation. Rikki in the back office team was amazing - responsive, organised, professional and helpful throughout. For me, we got to where we needed eventually in spite of the process, but at the cost of a lot of time, pain and effort. If I were to start again I would consider other options or at least insist on a change in mediator having found that the one assigned was unable or unwilling to work with us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your openness and are pleased to hear that you were able to reach an agreement and are now progressing with our fixed fee Consent Order package. We are sorry to hear that parts of your experience felt frustrating, particularly around the structure of the sessions and changes in mediators. While we always aim to provide continuity, there are occasions where handovers are necessary, and we appreciate your understanding that this can happen. In relation to the mediation process itself, we do need to follow a structured framework in line with Family Mediation Council (FMC) requirements and court expectations. This includes how financial information is gathered, discussed and recorded. This process allows your financial agreement capable of being made legally binding by the court. This is particularly important when progressing to a Consent Order, as you are doing. That said, we do recognise the importance of flexibility and ensuring clients feel heard and supported throughout. Your comments regarding the delivery of this process have been noted and will be reviewed internally. We are very pleased to hear your positive feedback about Chris and Rikki, and we will ensure this is passed on to them. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best as you move forward.

Sadly all I felt like were all the options not available to me, and I left the call even more confused than when it started. Understandably, this caused more stress on top of what I am experiencing. I didn't feel listened to at all.

Hello - we're sorry you didn't feel you got the help you wanted. Your situation was more complicated as the law doesn't allow a divorce until you have been married for at least one year. I understand our manager has subsequently spoken to you about your case and you now have a plan of action on how best to proceed. We wish you all the best in the future.

Booked the facilitation package to have an expert check the financial arrangements my ex and I have agreed to. The agreement has not yet been reviewed by the courts but the process so far, starting form the inital free 15 min consultation, has been great - smooth and reassuring. We got a lot of information and advice throughout. Communication has been fast, friendly and professional.

I really appreciated how helpful and detailed our Mediation team were as we navigated through such a stressful and emotional time. We felt grateful that our mediator Rachel was able to offer well balanced support of us both She provided a realistic and tactful approach while she explained the necessary steps of a divorce entails. This somehow made things less complex and overwhelming, particularly in financial terms and this improved our ability to communicate more affectively. I did also use legal advice along side and this made the whole process more cost affective.
