I decided to take the paid consultation because after browsing for several websites which offer similar services, MediateUK website was the only one which offered lots and lots of FREE guidance (a rarity in this $$ paying world)..which was refreshing. This then gave me the confidence to call up their number. Again the experience was extremely customer friendly with the person explaining everything as clearly as possible (without rushing to keep the phone down or trying to push the paid consultation service). She was also knowledgeable and explained and even followed up with an email. At this point, I definitely wanted to book the 25paid 30-minute consultation. On the day, Ali (the MD) clearly explained everything and within 5 minutes of speaking to him, I think I have made up my mind to go with their services. Once I have completed the proceedings, I will definitely leave another review....and going by what I have seen and experienced so far, will be surprised if its going to be

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed after your free 15-minute consultation. Our team member listened carefully to your situation and correctly identified that you required civil mediation rather than family mediation. We specialise solely in family mediation and family law, that is, helping separating couples resolve arrangements for children, property, or finances under the laws of England and Wales. Civil mediation is a completely different process, with its own governing body, training, and regulations. We always try to point people in the right direction, even when it’s not a service we offer. Just as you wouldn’t expect a Chinese restaurant to serve you a pizza, we focus on what we’re properly trained and accredited to do. We do hope you’ll reconsider your rating, as our team gave their time free of charge to ensure you received the correct advice for your circumstances. Kind regards, The Mediate UK Team

The person who took the call was very professional and also empathetic. He approached my case with a lot of information but also with care. He helped me take a more informed decision.

This process was a waste of time. Meetings were weeks or even months apart, on more than one occasion this was because Mediators were not available or cancelled a meeting at the last minute. I used mediation to create an Open Financial Statement and Memorandum of Understanding which I was told would then be past to solicitors to get their approval to then be sent to court. I was charged £1500 for this, only to have the solicitor ask me all the same questions for which the Memorandum of Understanding and Open Financial Statement had the answers to. This made the role of Mediation pretty pointless, expensive considering this, and time consuming. You are better off just using your own solicitor.

We’re sorry to hear that you felt disappointed with your experience. We do appreciate the feedback, as it helps us to improve our service. I can see you reached a full agreement through mediation and purchased a Fixed-Fee Financial Mediation and Consent Order package for £1,299 plus VAT. This included: • Your MIAM (a legal requirement before applying to court). • Up to 4 hours of joint mediation with an experienced, accredited family mediator. • Full financial disclosure process completed and summarised in a legally recognised Open Financial Statement (OFS). • A detailed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) recording details of your financial agreement. • An experienced family law solicitor drafting your Form A, D81, and your Consent Order, submitting them to court and handling all correspondence on your behalf. • Protection from using a Solicitor led and fully regulated process. Many people spend £1,500 or more just completing their financial disclosure through their own solicitor, before even reaching an agreement. Your package provided both the agreement and a legally binding consent order, likely saving you thousands of pounds overall. It’s also important to clarify that a solicitor cannot individually help separating couples reach an agreement, that’s the role of mediation. Once an agreement is reached, the solicitor’s job is to formalise it into a legally binding document. Regarding the D81 form, the court requires it to be completed and signed by you on the day of signing as an accurate reflection of your finances. This is a legal requirement of the court, not a Mediate UK policy. I can see that your first joint session took place in April, and that a full financial agreement was reached within five months, this is within the normal timescale for most cases, allowing for people to collate all their financial information and check documentation. I do apologise if we didn’t better manage your expectations around this. I wish you all the best with your future. :)

The information I received from the advisor was really helpful; she was very informative. The follow-up email arrived extremely promptly after our conversation and clearly laid out the next steps with costings.

I can definitely say Mediation is a great way for dealing with the divorce process. The cost is transparent and far cheaper than using Solicitors. Throughout the process, the mediators were professional, kind and supportive. The only issue we had was having a change of mediators mid-term, which was a little unsettling.

Mediate are fantastic - friendly, professional, knowledgeable, approachable and calm. From the initial 15 minutes free call, which was very useful, I had all the answers to my questions and concerns. I then went into the mediation process with Neil, who was very supportive and knowledgeable, who listened, answered all my questions and gave me great advice and places to research. The financial statement was fairly simple to complete and due to the advice given by Neil on the meeting it meant we both got the information ready, for the joint call. The joint mediation meeting with my ex was completed professionally and as pain free and due to us both having all the information at hand we agreed in the meeting what we wanted so only had one joint meeting which kept costs down. Throughout the process the communication either verbally or via email has been fantastic and I have felt supported throughout. All questions have been answered promptly and at no point did I feel like I was asking too much or bothering the team. I would 100% recommend (and have) Mediate UK, if you are going through a divorce as they are so good and compared to going through solicitors and trying to navigate the process on your own was definitely the less expensive way to do it. Thank you

My son had a 15 minute free call with my support. The administrator was friendly, professional and efficient. My son has booked a MIAM. Hopefully the mediator will prove to have the same qualities.
