Shocking! Left my 17 year old waiting 3 hours to be then told no one was on there way had to leave work early to get him and his bike home. Pointless service

I signed up with Start Rescue last night. This morning, I received an email saying "....we would like to know how our general service has been since you joined. We'd love to know how you found the experience and would appreciate it if you could take a moment to leave a review". This is how businesses successfully inflate their review ratings based on me filling in my details on two pages of a standard website. The motive of course is to imply that the ratings received for using a standard website, are in fact for the as-yet unused breakdown service and which sadly most people will take to mean were in respect of their breakdown service. That's 2023 for you. Many organisations do the same. I however hate the practice and won't play. This therefore is a 1-star rating for Start Rescue's use of this tactic. If I ever do break down and use the service I've paid for, I'll happily leave a factual review based on the level of service received, good or bad.

Any review of Start Rescue is not possible since I have had no call upon the service. Why is it that reviews of this type are requested by so many companies? It is a waste of my time and effort. I can understand a review request after an incident but would beg that totally inappropriate, meaningless reviews like this are not sought. In light of this and because the system demands a star rating I cannot give more than 1 star at this time.

When I needed to use your services you refused and left me stranded on the motorway. You stated that I was not covered under the terms of the policy. It took many calls and messages, most were not responded to, for you to agree this was untrue and that your breakdown team should have provided assistance. The policy was auto renewed in error.

Thought the price was good so joined but then when needed to call them to rescue me (I had a 6 week old baby at the time and it was mid winter!) they had "nobody available" I had to call a local mechanic to help instead !!! they also refused to refund me my membership given that they did not provide the service I needed when needed. Appaling. I called twice and emailed about the issue and noboydy got back to me despite being promised they would.

My breakdown cover started on 16/07/2023 and the day previous I get an email asking for a review. How can I review a product that not only hasn't quite started, but not used? Once the service has been used I would be able to leave a review but how can I review something I havent used?? If you want an honest review from my experience thus far, here goes.... You took my money and sent me a log-in to view my documents. Hows that?? Companies need to stop asking for reviews as soon as you sign up with them. Customers need to be with a company a short time or even use the service before they can write a review!

I only signed up yesterday. I can't believe how stupid they think people are to write a review when all they've done is sign up. Anyway here's the review after 24 hours membership. I have no idea if Start is any good or useless. Nor could I have any idea. So, 1 star for stupidity.

Hi, when purchasing or renewing a policy, a welcome email is automatically sent to the email address registered on the policy, within the email it includes a payment reference number, transaction amount and date of transaction, if for any reason you have still been unable to locate the email then please don't hesitate to get in touch, one of out Customer Service Representatives will be happy to help. I only had the need to call Start Rescue once during my first year of cover with them. Waited for hours for anyone to attend and when they did they couldn't help. They referred me to a different service who decided they could not help either after a telephone conversation. Ended up paying to get the problem sorted. Start Rescue were of no use whatsoever.

I renewed even though I have a policy until end of July. and then today, when Start Rescue failed to rescue me, stranding me in the streets of Liverpool and never recovering me, I cancelled the renewal and will be suing in small claims. Pathetic company. Pointless.

Any business that sends spam asking for a review gets the lowest score - DONT DO IT. I for one never read the reviews anyway My policy has only been active for minutes so that makes sending spam even more stupid

Called for assistance for a breakdown with just myself (single mum) and daughter (11 - during SATs week). Despite holding this policy for years and this being my first emergency, I would have to wait 90minutes approx for someone to arrive and be charged £100! Avoid! Go to a more reputable company who don’t do the same to 550 other customers already this year.

Getting the quote was quite easy but buying the product and signing in was a nightmare. The writing on the website was so small it was nearly impossible for me to read. Signing in to the "customer lounge" with the password changing I could not do and had to talk to one of your employees to help me with it. I dread to think what it will be like when it comes to renewal. I am an older person,85, but find my online banking a "doddle" compared to this and am unable to recommend to friends. I have yet to tackle the downloading of the mobile App and have decided to wait until one of my grand children is here to help me.

Hi Ian, we're sorry to hear of your experience and would like to reassure you our Customer Service Team are available 7 days a week via telephone whenever a customer has need of them, whether this be when purchasing cover, updating the policy, general enquires or renewing a policy. Whilst the Customer Lounge is available to all customers, security is a priority which is why when you purchase cover with Start Rescue a welcome email is automatically sent which includes your temporary password, this needs to be entered first and you are then requested to change the password to one of your choosing. We would also like to reassure you the Mobile App is optional and if you ever have need of our Breakdown Team they can be contacted on 01206 785999.
