“I used Start for the first time on 22 November 2025. I called them when my clutch failed and I requested a recovery. They said it would be 45 minutes. I called then after 1.5 hours and they said another 30 minutes. A recovery truck arrived 2 .5 hours after I first called and unbelievably the driver was not there to recover my vehicle but only check that it was the clutch that had broken! I called Start again after he drove off and they said another 1.5 hours before I would be recovered. Well, after over another 4 hours the same recovery driver appeared after completing two other jobs! My home was only a 20 minute drive away. It was a total of 7.25 hours from calling Start to putting my car on the recovery truck. One of the worst experiences of my life!”

“Been covered by Start Rescue for 2 years now, and just renewed again! Only needed to call them out once, on Boxing Day when my car wouldn't start. Arrived within an hour, recharged the battery, and had me on the road for a 200 mile drive in no time.”

“Apart from initially subscribing to Start Rescue many years ago and having my membership automatically renewed every year, I am very fortunate in never having to call upon their services but I am always aware that they are there if ever needed. I am very pleased with Start Rescue's regular emails regarding tasks that should be carried out for safe and trouble free motoring.”

“I have nothing but praise for Start Rescue. Over the past few years, we have used Start Rescue on two occasions when suffering a puncture and in September 2024, we had a serious breakdown on the M motorway. While waiting for the arrival of a recovery vehicle, we received excellent support from Start Rescue over the phone and we had not doubt that we were in good hands. We were taken home (a distance of over 100 miles) and our car was safely delivered to a local garage for evaluation.”

“When we had a breakdown, transmission failure, as my wife was being discharged from hospital, the van turned up within a couple of hours and attempts were made to get the transmission to work, when it was clear that a recovery vehicle was needed one turned up that night and removed the car to a specialist garage where it was repaired within a few days. Not fast but effective.”
