Dear Mr Emson, we are sorry to see that you are unhappy with your renewal price. To confirm, our premiums are calculated by the age of your vehicle. Our vehicle age categories are as follows: 0-5 years, 6-10 years, 11-15 years, 16-19 years and 20 years plus. If your vehicle has entered into the next bracket, then your premium may have increased. If, however, you are still unhappy with the price then we ask that you contact a member of our Customer Services Team so we can see if there is anything further we can do for you. My renewal quote was more expensive even though the company said they reward loyalty. Registering as a new customer and using a discount code turned out cheaper.

Went online to renew my policy but the website wouldnt allow it for whatever reason. Ended up having to buy a brand new policy that was more expensive so not terribly impressed. Cant speak for the breakdown side as I've not needed it so far. Please fix your website Start!

Phoning up and giving someone your debit card details to buy a policy does not warrant a 5 star review. Therefore they get 2 stars as it was very easy to speak to someone and set up the policy. Thats it. The review will be changed once their actual service has been used.

Renewal price increased by 50% though had made no claims. Real hassel over the phone to get any reduction. After putting the phone down an offer was made to reduce the increase by 25%. Thre was no need for this. Poor customer service

My card details failed to through on-line so had to ring. Had to listen to a whole of legal blurb before same card details taken again which worked

Whilst I have not used the service (fortunately no need), the offering meets my expectations. At renewal I was annoyed to see that the automatic process had been completed 2 DAYS before the due date and that I had to accept it. I had called at 08h30 to question the significant increase in premium 38.5% (this within the stated office hours but was told that the office wasn't open until 09h00). When speaking to the agent I was simply told that 'there had been a SMALL INCREASE IN EUROPEAN COVER which clearly didn't accord with the LARGE INCREASE in premium. I thought the agent could have been a little more helpful but I found the 'chat' quite abrupt to be perfectly honest. We look to shop around next year as we have three cars to cover.

I was unable to renew online because my various cards were all rejected at checkout. I had to do it by phone which is very difficult for me because of my hearing loss. I have no idea how much the phone call cost me as the call rate was not notified to me and it took a long time. The first call was made by SR but had to be abandoned because I could not hear well enough. I rang back. Given that I was renewing for the same car the extensive questioning seemed unnecessary.

The renewal was declined and I was given a link to the website which did not allow me to update the payment method. I tried phoning but gave up after being on hold for 15 minutes. Eventually Start phoned me.

Why do you have to automatically put the price up and take payment with out my consent. If your going to increase policy price , at least have the courtesy to phone me and discuss please !

GDPR prohibits unsolicited e-mails and phone calls so was I pestered by so many messages? Documents sent had wrong registeation number. Nobody bothered to call me back after online request. Very shoddy.
