Sent email stating renewal price was special and lowest since I was a long standing valued customer. Phoned as had to haggle it down. You need to look after existing customers and not have them jump through hoops to get the correct price.

Our premiums are calculated by the age of your vehicle. Our vehicle age categories are as follows: 0-5 years, 6-10 years, 11-15 years, 16-19 years and 20 years plus. If your vehicle has entered into the next bracket, then your premium may have increased. A. I don’t wish my CC details to be held for renewal. B. I telephoned to renew my Startrescue plan 5 days before it was due. I payed by CC and payment failed, when at the same time I paid my Tax & Ins with same CC and payment was taken. C. I had to recall Startrescue to do it again? Having been with Startrescue for 4-5 years with 2 vehicles having never used it once yet. I hope if i do need to use the service it will be better than what I have experienced this week.

Received confusing messages about about renewal of annual fee. StartRescue reported incorrect information about credit card expiry dates. Subsequent E mails and phone calls not very helpful.

I have been a customer of Start Rescue for several years and have never made a claim. Currently I have three cars on cover, two under this policy and one under another policy. So, I was not impressed to see my renewal quote had risen from £76 to £92.34 this year, an increase of 21.5%! Having made no claims, and in times of near-zero inflation, what justification is there for an increase like that? Upon disputing this increase, my renewal quote was amended to £82.62 (8.75% more than last year). I did not have time to shop around and so I accepted this revised quote and renewed with Start Rescue once more. But this will be the last time. I shall move all three cars to another breakdown cover provider before their next renewals become due. Pure greed on the part of Start Rescue has lost a loyal customer. I can't understand why insurance companies treat their repeat customers this way? We are not stupid! 21.5% of nothing is nothing, which is what Start Rescue will collect from me in premiums in future. Well done - whichever marketing genius came up with that one!

My premium last year was £31.90 and ths year it is £40.49 ...... that is a massive 27% increase !!! A massive increase like this is despite COVID which would have meant far less traffic on the road. We accepted this years premium as we were in a rush to get our Breakdown cover active but if this sort of rake in happens next year , I will be looking for a new Breakdown Company !!

Never used the service so find it suspect they seek a review when the only thing they have done is take a payment. Hope they are as quick getting to a breakdown

This was renewed automatically I wasn't notified other than a email to confirm renewal was die it would have been nice to have been asked first rather than just assume I wanted to renew

On renewal .....cheaper to start again via comparison site. The;£25 (£30 excess) option not available directly. Bizarre arrangements and mad experience.

Although the customer service adviser did a great job and listened to my queries as did his supervisor i feel the system is outdated and the prices were ridiculous since i was told i would be paying more if i wanted to change the date of renewal or i could have the same price if i accepted to have the start date in the past. The prices were also very high and i felt did not reflect the fact vehicle owners are current not using their vehicles therefore have less chance of breaking down and using the services during the covid period therefore the justification given was not good enough.

Automatically renewed with out notifying me at an increased price, no call back like requested. No letter/email sent before notifying me, took money before old policy had even ended too.

My renewal quote was more expensive even though the company said they reward loyalty. Registering as a new customer and using a discount code turned out cheaper.

Went online to renew my policy but the website wouldnt allow it for whatever reason. Ended up having to buy a brand new policy that was more expensive so not terribly impressed. Cant speak for the breakdown side as I've not needed it so far. Please fix your website Start!

Phoning up and giving someone your debit card details to buy a policy does not warrant a 5 star review. Therefore they get 2 stars as it was very easy to speak to someone and set up the policy. Thats it. The review will be changed once their actual service has been used.
