“AVOID - Unethical Business Practices
ORDER NO : 23174
Offered me 215GBP for my iPhone when I selected the last option with below 80% battery option. (Not a single scratch / dent / and all original - But battery is below 80%, so I selected the correct option)
Then they offer 49.99GBP after posting my phone saying they need to replace the battery to sell.
Isn't that obvious we select below 80% option and then why do you offer 215GBP? Very Poor Service.

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I ordered a phone - 10 days later still no phone. I phoned - a dozen or more times, got through eventually only to have the girl I was taking to completely ignore me and talk over me, I asked her to not talk over me as I could t hear what she was saying and she then put the phone down on me. Couldn’t get back through again, eventually my emails were answered as I had requested a total refund, I was promised ‘an immediate transfer’ of my money, over 2 weeks ago, I have emailed and phoned about 100 times, this morning I have my money in my account. Dreadful customer service, I think they could possibly block the phone numbers that they deem to be a ‘nuisance’ in asking for a refund! Steer clear and shop elsewhere!!! 🙏🏼”
“My experience with Smart Cellular is probably the worst I’ve ever had with any company in the UK. They do not follow their own terms and conditions and delay proceedings for so long that they hope you will accept a heavily reduced offer. They prey on the fact that they have a valuable item of yours and that having waited for so long you will just be desperate for anything. I sent them my phone which was in a pristine condition, within the 14 day period that they stipulate for obtaining the quoted price. They quickly confirmed receipt and then proceeded to request id and proof of ownership. Their terms and conditions state that identification may be required but proof of ownership is for new phones sent to them. Regardless I sent them my id and the original purchase receipt from Apple. A week passed by (bearing in mind they say they offer a same day payment upon receipt) and they then said that they needed more than the original Apple purchase receipt. I sent them further confirmation from Apple that showed the IMEI and serial number. A few days later they then further requested more proof, by means of a credit card statement. All of this I believe are just delaying tactics because again, their terms state that for “new” phones they may need the purchase receipt, which they had but wasn’t needed as my phone wasn’t new. At this point after two weeks they said the “team” had revalued my phone based on the documents I sent at £600, £248 lower than originally offered. They gave no reason as to why my phone had been revalued other than the prices for iPhones was dropping and urging me to accept. I reminded them that we had entered a contract wherein the original price was guaranteed as long as received within 14 days. They came back and offered another £20 or offered to return my phone for free. Needless to say I requested my phone back. I then received an email telling me I would have to pay for return postage, having already been told they would return it for free. I had to point this out to them and they then returned my phone. It is now blatantly obvious to me that this company will offer you a price considerably higher than other companies, delay things as much as possible before offering you much less, with no intention of honouring their terms and conditions. This company is already no longer showing on compare & recycle and I would recommend you stay well away. I will be advising trading standards of my experience.”
“Phone fine - when it arrived. Atrocious customer service and delays. Used an offer with free earpods. Seems you only get these once you’ve left a review and screenshot it for them. My gut says a total sham company and the warranty will be totally useless - avoid with a barge pole”

I bought an iPhone 11pro from these con people £325 I paid them,,, it developed an existing fault I returned it to them for repair, for them to say it’s not damaged by us but by you so you can have it back, useless as it is !!! Oh and I paid for return another £25 SO BUYERS BEWARE !!!

Warning to everyone trying to sell their phone. I “sold” 2 iPhones to smart cellular, originally being quoted £440 and £848 each (£1288). I paid £9.50 for tracked delivery. On receiving the iPhones which were in pristine condition they said they would only give me £830 for both iPhones together, almost half of their original quote. I requested for my phones to be returned to me on 27/09/23 (almost 2 weeks ago) but have heard nothing back. I have called multiple times but no one seems to man their phone line. I’ve also emailed every few days but I have not received any payment or my phones returned. I’m afraid this company will simply steal the devices so I’m discussing with my lawyer to raise this complaint legally.”
“Sent an ~15 month old iPhone 13 Pro to them with a handful of scratches, chose the "good" condition option (the lowest grade they publish) on a valuation of £488.00 (+£15 bonus = £503) and on reciept of the device (which I paid myself to post via Royal Mail) they tried to revalue the device down to just £148.50 (including bonus) with no reasons/justification for such a sharp decrease in the valuation.
Upon asking for the device to be returned, have to pay Royal Mail postage costs again to get it back - not unreasonable, but the claims on their website of "We promise to pay you 100% of the value quoted or you get your phone back FREE of charge!" with no mention of postage costs does come across as misleading.
Wouldn't recommend this company, and the warnings on this and other review sites about them manipulating reviews makes sense.”

3. Receive an email stating “unfortunately your device has not met the requirements for the condition stated” annd is being Re-graded even though the condition of your phone far exceeds their criteria. Price offered is substantially lower than quoted and much lower than you could have got elsewhere.
4.You phone to discuss but all calls are diverted to an answer phone.
5. Offered to return but at your cost.
6. Is there the level of trust that you will receive the phone back or in the condition as sent.”
“Easy to use website and products delivered quickly and as expected. Minor issue sorted out straight away and customer service team very responsive. Would use again and about to sell a phone to them too as they are offering the best price.”

“Really a scam company.
Dear all, please do not buy anything from this website, for safe side do not visit this website .I ordered a phone on 24th August and I did not recieved the phone or get a refund until today. When I contacted them they were always saying I would recive the phone by the end of this week or first of next week . After 2 weeks they emailed me saying the phone had despatched but when I tried to track the item it was showing that the Royal mail had not recieved the item. So I requested the full refund but they kept saying I would recieve the refund in 3-5 working days. At last I contacted the Paypal which I used to pay and registered a dispute.They contacted smart cellular and I finally recieved the refund today. Please please stay away from Smart Cellular .”
“I've had both half decent and poor experiences with Smart Cellular. Last year I sold my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Despite some delays throughout the process my phone was sold and I received payment. This year however, after sending my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and doing the usual back and forth providing proof of ID etc, I was offered over £250 less than the invoice order stated I would receive, because: "...Apple prices are going down at the moment, especially the 14 series". This was despite their website still quoting the price on my invoice order. Of course I rejected this, and to be fair, my phone was returned quickly, but I didn't appreciate my time being wasted. Next year when I sell my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I will not be using them.”

“Please do not use this company, They will take your money and never send the phone. Emails, online chats and phone calls are unanswered and or ignored. Stick to the big boys like Music Magpie, these companies will never rip you off. How this company can advertise it has won awards, is a joke, and must be fake, so i will be reporting them to the relevant awarding body to hopefully have the awards and nominations revoked.
