Service Stop overcharge for additional work. Had a quote from the same garage that did the work and the difference in price was significantly cheaper. I have written to service stop and awaiting a response

Had my car booked in for a full service and MOT, took a day off work for this. I was waiting for my car to be collected, no sign of the garage, I checked my emails and had one from Servicing Stop to say they tried to call and can I call them. I had no missed calls from them. I phoned them only to be advised that the service request had now been declined by the garage, they advised that there was one other garage that could do my MOT (no mention of the service) but I would have to take my car to the garage and wait there for it to be done. If they were also to carry out a full service this could have been a wait of 3 hours. Not good enough!! I will never use them again and advise anyone to think twice before using them. Very poor customer service and totally unreliable.

I feel I have been totally ripped off, to begin with, the car was returned to me by someone who did not even knock at my door, they just put the keys through my letterbox along with a supposed job sheet, every box on the checklist has been ticked including that they stamped the service book, they did not do this, I have absolutely no proof of anything being done to the car, no receipts for parts also the offer of £61 service turns out to be £91,very disappointed, never again,it is my intention to spread my experience far and wide via social media

I was quoted £165 instead of the £300 that Audi quoted. Like others have reported I got a call to say that all specialist fluids needed changing (I thought this was included as I was clear this was my 1st service on the car). Audi definitely include it! Then they tried to tell me my brake pads were wearing and would need changing in the next few thousand miles. I said no because I had only done 18000 miles and everyone online clearly recommends that brake pads should do between 25 and 70000 miles. Absolute joke! In addition to this they then overcharged me by another £25 to reserve a price for servicing next time and then I got charged £1 for paying by debit card which I understand is against payment card industry rules. 5 days later I have still not received my refund. I wish I had checked here first and seen so many bad reviews. This company really need to sort themselves out - appalling.

My address, 33 Eileen road Birmingham b11 4hx [Garage/ Trader address : SERVICINGSTOP Reference: registration number of vehicle.. LB11MSO On [21.05.2017] I asked you to service the above vehicle C4 CITROEN When I collected the vehicle from you on 22.05.2017, I was told that you had carried out a “full service”, had diagnosed that my car will be don in same day but it never happened and i had to miss my appointment and keep struggling with taxi taking my family on it all day ...im VERY unhappy with the service that I have received from you . The bill for this work was nearly £400 On 21.05.2017 22.05.2017days after I did reserve my car which been keept on the garage with not even inform us? They don't care about it. Servisingstop . whom I called out confirmed that in their opinion the fault which you had originally diagnosed and was supposed to have been put right, when my car was being serviced by you, was the direct cause of to me and my family. Given that I use my car on a daily basis and I was many miles from your garage I had no option but to have the necessary work carried out on the vehicle costing [£400] to rectify. A copy of the receipt for all that work is not even clear? You were under a legal obligation to carry out the work on my [vehicle] with reasonable skill and care, using parts of satisfactory quality and fit for their purpose, as laid down by the [Consumer Rights Act 2015 OR Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982]. The above letter that you failed to do is you should so, and I am therefore legally entitled to receive compensation from you for breach of contract. I look forward to receiving your cheque from you , representing expenses incurred within the next 14 days. Should you fail to reimburse me I shall have no alternative but to issue a claim against you in the county court for recovery of the money without further reference to you. However in accordance with the Civil Procedure Pre-Action Protocol, I would be willing to refer my case to the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair, as I understand that they have a free conciliation and low cost independent arbitration scheme. This would be a way of successfully resolving my dispute without resorting to legal action. Please confirm whether you are a member of the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair. Yours faithfully, Mr Nabil BEN

It seems my last review a couple of days ago has been removed, so let's have another go. I put my car in for a service at an agreed price of £79. I had a call a few hours later with the 'report' containing a list of things that 'needed' doing, including a brake fluid change due to contamination. This has already been done earlier in the year so clearly a tactic to scam more money. The total bill came to over £500. Ludicrous! The sales guy that called clearly had no knowledge of cars and was very insistent that the work needed doing. Told him to just bring my car back and not to carry out any additional work. They also allegedly put premium oil in at an additional cost of £24. Not worth trying to save a few quid as ultimately, it just won't work out cheaper once they add the fictitious charges on to your bill. Thoroughly disappointed. I took this to my local garage to check out the highlighted issues and all were found to be lies. No problems with the car at all.

Just awful, I have used a local excellent garage before but they have moved out of town. So thought this would be a quick easy alternative. The driver who picked up my car was polite and pleasant. Mid morning I received a call from Servicing Stop stating that huge amounts of extra work was required on my car which would cost me about £500 above the service. I felt like they had me over a barrel. I attempted to cancel the whole service but they told me that was not possible. I declined the extra work and clearly told them I was unhappy, only to find they had added an extra £25 to my payment for a deposit on my next service - you have to be joking, back off to a recommended local garage and never going anywhere Servicing Stop again!

I recently had my Renault clio serviced with this company and boy was I ripped off, quoted £73 quid for a full service, only to get a bill off 320 quid. Said new brake pads and brake disc and new tyre needed that's load of crap because it had an mot in September and nothing was mentioned and the car passed, so we said leave it as we knew that the information given by the was incorrect. So we ended up paying £230. And the brake fluid hadn't even been checked or changed. Stay well away from this company Take your car to a reputable garage. That's I'm doing from now on I will never make the same mistake again by using this company. For a full service they only changed 4 things on my car so I'm taking it my dad's mechanic and see if the work that they said they had carried out has actually been done beware of this company avoid like the plague

I got a quote online from ServicingStop for an MOT. After finding a better deal elsewhere I cancelled the quote. I was then bombarded with pushy texts, emails and phone calls (three calls in one day!) from ServicingStop, trying to get me to go ahead with the quote. Pushy and dodgy sales tactics... would avoid and go with your local MOT centre.

Awful experience from serving Stop - nice idea having your car collected and brought back though. The problem was my wife's car (Volvo C30) - she found their web site and thought wouldn't it be great that we could save some money on a service - £107 was the quoted price so I agreed. However, when payment was required they charged £261.00 - bearing in mind I received an equivalent quote from a proper Volvo dealer - just to compare prices there's was £231.00 incl. VAT and with road recovery and 12 months support for that service. I complained immediately to Servicing stop and all hey said was Oh sorry complain to Customer services - it's the oils that have added to your bill. We're still being bombarded with emails from serving stop proudly announcing 60% savings - you have been warned - Oh I told the Volvo garage to warn anybody about using this service.

Service Stop is a clever set up, they use misleading practices as I recently discovered personally having been scammed by them whilst trying to cope with the simultaneous death of my Dad. Quote for 'full' diesel service for my well cared for (fsh) VW Golf Bluemotion. Full service usually costs £200 ish at VW main dealership & Service Stop quoted £119 plus £28.80 should 'specialist' oil be required. And quoted a fee of £19 to include MOT. No brainer then..... BUT .. the "Pick Up & Drop Off" service is all over the place .. best suited to stay at home Mums who don't need to drive or work, headaches otherwise. Then they've finally got yr car to a 'local' garage (local to me would be 4.5 miles .. local to Servicing Stop was nearly three times the distance & driving time). I was then told that my bill was over £320 due to the required additions of £66 for 'coolant' (water & antifreeze NOT printing ink!) & brake fluid. Inform Trading Standards & contact yr credit card company if you have been scammed / over charged. You can claim damages under Sect 75 of the consumer credit act. * also see consumer protection regulations or seek advice from Trading Standards. p.s. If we don't stop them, they will thrive.

Offer £24 MOT, which is £25 including £1 compulsory debit card fee, car fails on "Headlamp Alignment which they charge £42 to "adjust", true cost e.g. At Kwikfit £11. They are a disgrace and absolute rip-off merchants. Avoid like the plague!!
