“After a bad experience with expensive glasses (£600+), that I wore for a total of two hours over a 2yr period, I popped into Scrivens on my way to somewhere else, to check when I could get my eyes retested. I was impressed by some very personable staff that were helpful in the extreme & duly booked an appointed to have my eyes tested. The optometrist was brilliant, taking real care to ensure that my next prescription was exactly right, whilst the optician had no problem in setting up the prescription to fit my existing, but unused expensive frames. I collect my old frames with new lenses that are lightweight, anti glare varifocals etc... later today & at last I shall be able to throw away glasses that have had to endure four years of abuse. I can't speak too highly of the staff at Scrivens & once again apologies to the customer kept waiting because my eye test took so long.”

“Excellent from start to finish. Very thorough and personal service, tailored to your individual needs. Lots of expertise, guidance and time taken to answer questions. All staff were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. A special thank you to Mehvish and Dee, who are a credit to Scrivens. I couldn’t of hoped for two more lovely people to assist me. Thank you.”

“I had an appointment, last Friday at The Oaks in Havant, with Abby. She said she came from the Gosport branch of Scrivens. I wasn't expecting much success as I've had my NHS hearing aids for several years , without much success, and my hearing has deteriorated even more since I had Covid. The aids had never sat right behind my ears and I found them so uncomfortable that I would take them off after about an hour. Abby was so patient and kind. She did the necessary tests and fitted me with new aids and fully explained fitting them properly. The next day I sat in my garden and heard birds singing for the first time in years and I have worn the new aids constantly for nearly a week, discovering new sounds every day. I am so grateful to Abby and hope she knows how good she is at her job.”

“I recently had the most thorough eye test at the Bourne End branch of Scrivens .The staff were very professional, and friendly, and most helpful and patient while lchose my new frames for my glasses .l expect to receive them next week sometime.”

“Transferred to Scrivens from local hospital Audiology department for new hearing aids, old aids had a function for tinnitus sufferers which was very good. Scrivens do not supply hearing aids with a tinnitus function and when I asked to be referred back to hospital audiology department was told I had to deal with them for the next 3 years and couldn’t go anywhere else. Avoid being transferred to them if you can.”

“Great team and service at the Newark branch, especially Sam the manager. Called in after a fall had damaged my glasses. Sorted there and then without an appointment. They always go the extra mile. Thanks to Amelie for being so helpful on the phone too.”

“I have been a loyal customer for many years. The staff at the local store in Sheffield are lovely. But lately the service from the central labs is very poor indeed. There have been numerous delays in delivery times despite the promise to deliver before we went away in 4weeks. The second pair order has been changed repeatedly with added charges and I am still waiting to receive them. This is despite the store assistant calling the lab directly to confirm in front of us. Their service is not competitive either in comparison to other high street ones. Most disappointed.”

“i went here for an eye test after suffering bad heads and doctors referred me for an eye test im glad i made the choice of visiting the crewe scrivens opticians, so friendly polite and professinal, the lady that dealt with me that day was good i forgotten her name but please pass this on to the crewe store many thanks”

“From the minute I walked in your receptionist made me feel very welcome. The other two ladies I met were equally as welcoming and explained what would happen and not feeling the best on the day really cheered me up. The young lady who showed me glasses had great sense of humour and overall ladies you did a great job. I will recommend you should the need arise. Thank you”

“My eye test was an absolute pleasure The main feature being that I felt totally relaxed in a friendly and professional environment This was totally opposite to my recent experiences when accompanying my wife ( as her carer) at other large opticians in Colchester where it was like being an item on a conveyer belt. Thank you Scrivens”

“A letter was sent to my 88 year old uncle to complete a questionnaire re his hearing aids he has no computer knowledge and limited use of his mobile) he has tried to phone helpline several times with no success. Should not a letter be the more obvious choice of contacting this gentleman !”
