very bad service, delayed delivery for more than a month. not educated staff. terrible treatment with customers. will not solve your service even if it was free

my wife had to have her eyes retested, as the first set were unusable, even now they are not comfortable and we will go elsewhere. We were also encouraged to pay a deposit on hearing aids then told to go see our Dr to be sent to specialist to get ears checked for problems, waisted deposit.

I have had an eye examination and a diabetic eye check today and was at the opticians for 2 hours, yesterday I got a phone call asking me to go in early which I did by ten minutes to be ignored by all the staff, they walked past me without any hello or any communication and I wasn't the only customer who noticed the staff are ignorant

Not at all impressed. I experienced difficulties with the original glasses you supplied and it took 4 visits, several phone calls and emails to get the problem sorted. Eventually the glasses were replaced and although I was upgraded (without charge) to more expensive frames and lenses I am not at all happy with the service I have received.

Purchased a pair of hearing aids 6 months ago unfortunately I lost one while on holiday. I need to replace it but the price quoted is £250 on top of purchase price not a nice practice and will not be using Scrivens again if this is the way they treat existing customers

Really not pleased, with the final outcome Having been advised to try varifocals which did not work then having bifocals which I am should I say making do with. Still having to squint at mid distance and using another pair for computer work I feel that i did not get value for money (£300 +) I will not use Scrivens again.

The staff are polite appointments fairly efficient. I have had a good experience with them they supplied hearing aids that worked very well up until last November when I was given new Hearing Aids the audiologist set them but the where absolutely useless I went back numerous occasions he reset them a few more times but the particular type Bernathon still did not work. The audiologist then tried some second hand Starkey aids the volume did not work on them and they where even worse than the Bernafon. On my last visit he was not interested he just gave the original bernafon aids back told me he had made a few tweaks again, they did not work the first and they where still useless, how is it possible he would think they would work a second time. I am really annoyed with them, the original lady audiologist was brilliant never had a problem with the previous hearing aids in fact even though the aids are 4 year old they work almost perfect, unfortunately now I will have to wait another 2 years before I can use another NHS supplier they of coarse will still get paid from the NHS for another 2 years. I have emailed them of my dissatisfaction but they have not even bothered to reply. Anyone wanting NHS hearing aids I would recommend trying elsewhere.

My local branch were fine. IT took 3 attempts to make my glasses and three times they messed up. Ended up with a refund.

The optician that examined my eyes was rude and abrupt,especially when the bulb went in the eye examination equipment.I left very dissappointed with his service.Also didnt like the questions being asked in the waiting,sesting area.Receptionist however was very polite . Nadine Briggs

I have had excellent service with Srivens for many years, however, I have recently moved to Scotland and when my new optician phoned scrivens to ask about my history, they refused point blank to give any information, saying it wasn’t possible due to patient confidentiality, even though I gave my verbal permission over the phone! They were going to send me the information in a letter to my new address, unsurprisingly it never materialised. Very disappointed, will not use or recommend scrivens again.

Prescription wrong unable to read with them I am still waiting for a refund 6months later very badly treated by complaints department

Really bad at keeping appointments! Went in for my eye test and didn’t have me on the system so had to rearrange for the next week! Not happy having to rearrange my already busy schedule!

My 90 year old father tried to get appointment for new hearing aid, was told he needed to provide some information which we then passed on via a phonecall. We were promised a call back but nobody bothered. Extremely bad service especially for someone elderly...and most probably the ones most in need of the service. Would not recommend or try to use again.

Paid nearly £500 pounds for varifocals and they were shocking went back to see if they could sort it they got new ones but still not good. Just got a pai from Asda and fab

The hearing aids I was fitted with are too uncomfortable to wear. The hinge to open the battery is very sharp and sticks into the back of my ears. Unbearable after short time. Ridiculously poor design. Told no others available.

I purchased two hearing aids from the Enfield branch of Scrivens at a cost of over £3,000 and 4 months before the end of the warranty period, I brought them in for some minor adjustments. When I returned home, I could not get the aids to work on their loop setting. This was August 2017 and since then I have not had the use of them for four months because I have been in dispute with Scrivens as to whether or not the loop setting is working. The aids have been back to the manufacturers twice who say that the setting is working. After the aids came back from the manufacturer the first time, I had them tested by an independent organization for the deaf, who produced a report to say that the aids were not working on the loop. I have been shocked by the indifference shown by both branch and central (Birmingham-based) staff of Scrivens to my problem. Even if the aids were working properly all along, surely they should have been concerned that they were not working for the customer? They have no provision in the Enfield branch for checking the loop system (even a simple landline telephone would do!) and during my last conversation with the Enfield branch, I had the telephone put down on me while I was asking that they should obtain a loop tester to demonstrate to me that the aids were working. In my view, the branch needs testing equipment if it is to sell such expensive products and certain members of branch and central staff have a totally wrong concept of ‘customer care’.

I have been trying to speak to Scrivens Lensplan. I have phoned Scrivens and they have transferred the call. It rings and rings but no answer after ten minutes still just rings
