“RTG's pre-purchase customer service was amazing. I spoke to one of their team on the phone twice, who talked me through the modularity of the Solitaire beds very patiently as I tried to understand how I might be able to buy future kits to "build up" in the future and whether to instead buy the full lot up-front and just build the starter for now, storing the other parts for the future. In terms of the product, I have two small negatives that make this a 4 and not 5-star experience/product overall: 1) As per a recent review from another buyer, there are no instructions for installing the side-board. Since having this safely fitted is key for my 2 year old as he makes the transition to his big bed (and any other child I would assume), having to make this part up on the fly yourself, is clearly not ideal. The response from RTG to the other poster said that RTG would "pass [the] comments on to the manufacturer". That doesn't sound to me like they're making this right any time soon; more just passing the buck a bit. In the mean time, why not create and post a pdf version on the RTG website? That would be very easy to do. N.B. Overall it took me a solid 1.5 hours to build this bed alone. For context I would consider myself an experienced amateur furniture assembler having built maybe 20 IKEA and other pieces over the last 15 years. 2) The bed is extremely heavy (I think the packaging said 50 or 60 kilos). Many people might not care about that, but it's worth knowing. It's a well known fact that MDF is heavy so I could (should?) have known based on the product description which did state it was made from MDF Overall, very happy, I am only leaving this constructive feedback to 1) get some a small but essential improvement in terms of assembly instructions and 2) make others aware of the weight.”

“Now that it's up, it looks great. It feels sturdy and high quality. I'd booked assembly which wasn't straightforward. The company was great in getting replacement parts and rebuilding it, but it would have been nice if that hadn't been necessary.”

“The mid sleeper was in good condition and much better value than many other similar products on the market. The assembly instructions were fairly easy to follow - the assembly itself took quite a long time as there are many steps (some things could be made easier e.g. the slats being on a ladder) but the end product seems to be solid and is perfect for what we wanted. Our daughter is so happy with her new bed and desk!”

“The bed is great but there are a few things that stopped me giving it a 5 star review. Pros- good looking bed, good instructions, seems solidly made, trundle complement seems sturdy enough too. Cons- ‘’surf white” is much closer to cream than we realised/hoped. Our walls are cotton white which is fairly close to brilliant white so this is perhaps more obvious. It may be hard to match the surf white with other white bedroom furniture. The paint on a leg chipped when sliding the trundle out which was surprising on first use. The paint finish is also a little thin, looks ever so slightly streaky on the bed head. Assembly took us 3hrs of carefully putting it together, so not too bad. It’s a nice bed without being amazing (due to paint finish and colour).”

“A very well made and solid product my only small niggle is it was a little fiddly to put together, However once its put together the fixings are more solid than other leading manufacturers products. My daughter loves her comfy new bed and sleeps very well in it THANKYOU.”
