“Only got 1 quote after a home visit which was really expensive and limited to 6 items of furniture only nothing else. I found a company on gumtree which for a fraction of the cost took around 10 items of furniture plus several boxes and suitcases.”

“Waste of time filling in boxes, as ‘quotes’ are not personalised and the site merely serves to pass on your email address to organisations, which appeared to bear little consideration of location. Of these only one followed up with an email, which again did not take into account specific details, such as including mortgage closure fee, when there is no mortgage.”

“As a company that advertise "covers all of Scotland" it was surprising to see the "not in your area" message. As such, my rating is poor, very poor.”

“Cancelled on the morning they were due to come and do a valuation. very disappointed after they rang yesterday to make sure we were going ahead and could not fit in a revised valuation until another week. Sorry but there are too many others that can do the job so going elsewhere.”

“Provided quotes but that does not mean the firms that quoted are any good or efficient at what they do. Firm I choose from the quotes provided were terrible in pretty much every aspect of dealing with my property sale.”

“The company I decided to approach never responded to several emails or gave me a call back, despite what they said on the phone when I called them. I felt this was a complete waste of my time.”

“I was offered a price but had to pay almost double because they did not realise the full circumstances or just wanted to get my case. Really misleading info from NBM. Would not recommend using them. Better pay a bit more to a decent company who will not rip you off at the end”

“Applied for a quote on their website and nowhere did I give permission for my details to be shared with third parties but now I'm constantly receiving marketing material from solicitor firms trying to get business off me.”

Hi there. Sorry you were disappointed with our service. We do advise users that we pass enquiries on to 4 partner firms on the form, but have recently been experimenting with different wording and placements in preparation for GDPR: apologies if it wasn't clear to you when you used the site. “Really moving probably charge high commissions to firm who are listed and hence this cost is just added on. Just a middleman that adds no extras only price.”

Hi Ahmed. Thanks for your comments. We charge each service provider a few pounds to list on our site - we don't take high commissions, just the one small fee. We also survey all of our verified users (like yourself) and the average saving we provide each person for conveyancing is £364. Kind regards reallymoving.com

“If you are a person that would be happy to pay upfront in the full payment and then reply in good (blind) faith for the trader to deliver, then this is an ideal surveyor for you. Good Luck (you will need it). They blatantly refuse even confirm the date for inspection and timeframe for submission of survey report before the payment is made in full.”

“When asking for a quotation for a survey of a property, you expect to find a few differences with pricing. Unfortunately it appears there was little difference in any of the quotations, which leads me to believe that an element of price fixing may be being used. Only one company came back to me with a 20% discounted rate, saying it was a spring saver deal. I expected a greater difference between all the company's that quoted me. After all a survey is just a survey. I was not impressed by any of the quotations or companies that were presented to me. It would be more beneficial if a wider range of companies could be offered, to ensure completion in the market place.”

Dear John We strongly refute your claims. Your enquiry generated different survey quotes as follows: Homebuyer Report quotes £230, £324, £350, £360 and your Building Survey quotes £325, £360, £400, £516. For a property under £100,000 this is quite a wide variation. Our Chartered Surveyors are in charge of their own prices, and we have absolutely no influence of these prices. This is why you received a wide variation of fees.
