I bought a makita battery drill, it said clearly on the website what was in the box. This included a 20min charger, this was not delivered to me, I could never get through on the phone to complain as it kept going to answer machine. After a few email exchanges they said I'd paid for what I'd received, clearly this was not the case, they then said it was a mistake on their website and it had been taken down. I was then told I could send it back if it was unused, I work for myself do of course I'd used it!! I ordered the item in December for £165, a week later they had a sale, the same drill had gone up to over £170, some sale!! Don't think I'll buy from them again, customer service is rubbish!!

Used impact driver for 3 secs and it burnt out, Power Tool would not take it back, had to send to Bosch!!

There was no notice of delayed delivery. There was no confirmation of order. I was unable to speak to anyone. The answerphone was full and wouldn't take a message. I had building works going on and needed the router. It turned up 7 days late and in the absence of any communication from Powetool world I bought another and refused delivery. Power tool world insisted on deducting transportation / return costs even though they acknowledged the delay and lack of communication. I have complained and got silence. I still received an invoice for the full amount and have never received a credit note. Accountant unhappy. Never use this supplier, they are unreliable and at best rude I could not run my company that way and remain in business. Do not trust and stay well clear.

Ordered an item on the monday, cancelled it within an hour and its friday and im still waiting for a refund. I was told on the monday it would be in my bank that day, then tuesday i was told it can take upto 2 days and finally today when i was told no refund had been issued and should go through today and it hasnt up to now.

I simply can't believe the recent reviews, I am STILL waiting for a refund, a week after I paid DHL £15 to return an order that failed to get ANY confirmation — in fact that email actually arrived 2 weeks later. No responses to my comms: total shambles. Can I give them a zero rating instead?

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE COWBOYS. Two months ago I bought a twin pack dewalt drill set. They sent me a faulty combi drill, which I am still awaiting, it's cost me 30 pounds in shipping costs and now they've sent the 'repaired' drill to the wrong address. They take weeks to respond by email, they are rude on the phone, no one wants to take responsibility, especially Geoff in returns. He personally stated he would replace me with a new drill, yet sent off to get repaired whilst informing me of nothing... After complaining I spoke to 3 different people all who didn't give a monkeys. Even after I have stated I would leave a bad review they didn't seem to care. So I'm now over 2 months without my 'repaired' drill and cost an extra 30 pounds - zero compensation. Thanks for a waste of time and a huge headache. Absolute joke!

like other reviews, great prices but no confirmatory email, no apparent bank transaction, so i ordered elsewhere 2 days later and lo and behold, both orders arrived the same morning. Power tool world refused to arrange collection, Royal mail won't carry these batteries and its cost be £14 to send them via DHL. Furious at being fobbed of by the helpdesk who never bothered to mention how hard it would be to return items. Seriously, don't bother with them, pay a bit extra and have a far better customer experience - got only knows how I'd fare if they failed... NOT HAPPY

An incompetent shambles. Power Tool World purported to offer sales promotions with Christmas and Boxing day sales advertised over the recent holiday period. The website offered their business hours and telephone and e mail enquiry contacts. No different holiday opening during the sale period was shown. Apparently they closed for the whole period of their sale. Never the less I placed an order in my ‘basket’ at the sale price. I could not complete this transaction as there was no indication of how to include ‘points’ gained from a previous purchase. My telephone and e mail enquiries were, of course, unanswered, the voicemail box was soon ‘full’. After the holiday, and their sale period was over, it became possible to contact them. I asked to complete the order made within the sale period at the sale price, this was refused. Power Tool World exemplifies the misconducts of internet trading. It appears that the customer should not have believed anything shown on the web page, should not have expected to speak to anyone or have any enquiry answered, or any sale purchase honoured when staff eventually returned. Awful customer service and goods out service. After three days of no delivery I decided to call Powertool world customer services asking where my delivery was they said expect delivery next day. Again I waited no delivery. My patience wore thin and I called the courier company delivering the parcel and it all unfolded. Powertool World did not write the business name on my delivery, so DPD took a guess at delivering to another business in that post code to which they signed for! . Thank goodness they sent them back the DPD depot after seeing no one was there of that name. Finally I gave DPD the full address and finally got my items after 6 days. Not one apology or an answer back after my compliant email apart from these review emails I received from them, so here you go Powertool World. I had read reviews about poor customer service and did a test order because prices where cheaper compared to ITS London whom we have used for years. Cheap prices means it lacks elsewhere in the business setup. If something does go wrong, good luck once they've taken your money.

I purchased bosh combi drill and makita bits. I only used bit 6 once and it melted straight away. I contacted customer service and reply was "there is no warranty offered by makita on their accessories. Sorry! !! Goef " i recommend to avoid this company as there is no after sale support. Jan

Hi Jan, I'm sorry and disappointed you haven't heard back from our guys. We looked into your issue internally the day you contacted us. We agreed that even though there wasn't much we could have done about the accessories issue we certainly could have taken care of you better. Although your issue was relatively small we have changed our procedure significantly because of the way you were handled. Hence the disappointment in finding out contact wasn't made. Circular saw is very good, but as for customer service, I phoned up 3 times after 08.30 hrs where the message says we are open from 08.30 hrs but the phones were NOT answered until after 09.00 hrs, I left message to be called back, but was NOT called back. on the Monday I was promised it would arrive by Wednesday but it didn't they said they where waiting for one blade to come in despite their website saying in stock. I wish I had ordered from Amazon when they say in stock it is, and I would have got it by the Tuesday

Hi Christopher. Sorry the service you received wasn't up our usual standard. We'd been having technical issue with our system. It's not an excuse, there are certainly things we still could have done a lot better. I received the wrong item and wanted to return it for refund. Even though I was happy to pay the return postage, they said that their policy was to charge me for it again even though it was me paying for it not them. Talk about money for nothing. Ridiculous!!!.

One of your items needed to be ordered in directly from Makita themselves which will have slightly delayed the delivery. I order dewalt impact driver, 2 batteries 5.0a.h ,skill saw. They deliver impact driver,skill saw and 1 batterie 4.0a.h which i never ordered instead 2 baterries i ordered 5.0a.h . They not alowed me to use that 4.0a.h batterie until they bring those batteries i ordered. The all batteries they bring after week.Basically they say is next working day delivery??'? Which i can say,next working week delivery,i lost 3 days work,have to hire batteries from friend for 20 pounds to complete work,because i was expexted service which says next working day not next working week( all package delivered completed In 7 days) .The person which dealing with my case Andy not helping At all to speed up delivering.If you need to do work In 2 days,dont buy tools from them!!!

Hi Saulius, Apologies for receiving the incorrect batteries at 4ah not the 5ah you ordered. As our customer service team will have stated due to policy reason we can’t send the correct item without first collecting and receiving the incorrect item back. Not helpful or understandable in any way. I purchased a product, which had a manufacturer's fault and when I called to return it, Power Tool's customer service representative was very rude and did not understand what the problem was. In the end I had a new self leveling laser level sent, which arrived with low power batteries (they should have been fully charged) and I have been unable to test the product.

Very disappointed with the service I have received from Powertoolworld. Firstly the item I ordered online was not in stock, so I had to have a different product, but they still haven't updated their online ordering system to say that it is not in stock. Worst of all, they gave the courier the wrong address to deliver to, which meant it got delivered elsewhere to a stranger, who I have never met. They said they would arrange a recollection to the correct address, but they have still not done this and offer nothing to make up for the poor service. Would not have bothered purchasing from them if I knew it would be so much hassle and would strongly advise others not to either - so poorly run!
