The process took longer than it should have because the installer had a long struggle to rectify a fault that prevented the charger from working. Eventually he tracked it down but not without a number of phone calls to colleagues.

The initial ordering process and arranging a survey seemed long and protracted and communication was slow. The surveyor (Adrian) was very informative and helpful and showed us how the installation would be achieved. The installer (Luke) was excellent he listened to our requests and accommodated them wherever possible. His work was neat and he worked diligently to cause the minimum disruption and ensured the vehicle would charge before leaving

I placed my order at about 4:30 and got a phone call to say the visit to fit was booked for 8:00 the next morning. Amazingly too quick! Rearranged for a few days later. Got an email saying it was booked for between 12:00 and 14:00. But the online confirmation said between 9:00 and 12:00. Ironically the fitter was 90 minutes late. The guy was great and very helpful and friendly but sadly he has installed the pod not quite straight. Just that annoying 5 degrees out of perpendicular. My car doesn’t arrive for another month so it’s going to be a long wait.

POD-Point Customer Service and communication left a lot to be desired, directly with me, the customer, as well as the car dealership. However, the surveyor, engineer and installer, Mr Denroy, was exceptional in his work, care and eye for detail. His interpersonal customer skills are outstanding. He is a credit to your team. I hope the post installation customer and maintainance service of POD POINT is as good as their engineer and earns a 5* .

Arranged installation and advised visit time for mid to late morning. engineer advised late morning that he may be later than expected than at 1.00pm advised he wouldn’t be attending. Rearranged for a requested first visit slot (2nd day off work) To then be advised the day before that there had been a scheduling error so it would now be late morning. And then a message on the day to say it would be later still, and then was 90minutes after that at 3.00pm. Not impressed. The engineer when he arrived however was efficient and got on with it, but clearly the management need to review their customer service

Installer was polite and professional and keen to meet my requirements and preferences in the installation. When drilling through the wall a large (10cm) lump of plaster was dislodged which the installer was un-equipped to repair - this should be made right.

it was at times painful to get this sorted, the easiest part was the actual installiation.

My overall experience was a mixed bag, please see below comments; Good points - Neat and tidy finished product, installation was completed in circa 2.5hrs as advertised and in my preferred location - Brief run through of features upon completion of installation was useful - Polite and courteous installer and call centre lady when contacted Not so good - No contact prior to arrival that the installation was actually taking place on the day, no email or text to confirm. Had to wait until 11:15am on day of installation before calling central PodPoint number to ask them to confirm if I was still expecting someone. - Van that arrived was an unbranded white van (possibly hired) and installer had no company uniform (as in videos) - just shorts and t-shirt. A minor thing perhaps but a missed opportunity for PodPoint re a professional look and advertising your brand. In fairness it was a hot day. - Given current climate I was advised social distancing would be strictly followed and the installer would be wearing full PPE - glove, mask etc. This was not the case. Not a huge issue as the work was completed in my garage so I wasn't in contact for long periods but when I was outside there was no distancing etc. This could bother some people more than others in the current climate, especially as all your literature advises measures will be strictly followed. - Installer did not speak the best English so at times was difficult to understand, again not a huge problem as I had read up on what was going to happen but on the day he just arrived and cracked on with the job without really explaining. Again this could be more of a problem for people who expected a full explanation before the job commenced. Overall satisfied with job but in addressing the above points I am sure you could make the installation process much better for future customers

The pre- installation and post-installation service was great and cannot fault. However the installation is a different story! The installer failed to fit the load monitor allowing the unit to run at the full 7Kw safety. And dispirit telling my wife that it had been set at 7Kw the unit was left at its lowest setting. The installer also did not link the unit to the internet and left telling my wife that it was all up and running and would appear on the app within a day or two. After a call to the service desk the following day and setting up the unit on the internet myself with the chap from the service desk all was up and running. I feel that the subcontractors who do the fitting had let the company down and left my wife upset that she had been lied to. However the service from the service desk has been so far very good.

The process leading up to installation was extremely tedious with numerous forms/emails, etc.

Installation and engineer was great, the process of claiming the OLEV documents was very painful and poor. Admittedly, I did complete the form incorrectly, however, at each stage it would take 2-3days for feedback (often from me chasing) and instead of correcting all at once, or a quick call to explain everything at the beginning, it took over 4 weeks to get this part through, meaning my car was delayed twice. Please pass on my thanks to Stuart who escalated the install after the forms were done

On his arrival I was shocked to hear that the The engineer/installer had travelled 3 hours to fit my unit yet you still ask the customer to sign a form that suggests you will do everything you can with the environment in mind. During the install He clearly communicated what was being done and why but the technical support he received when the unit didn’t initially work was not very good. Also please advise - if I am correct my podpoint external unit stays live all the time so what stops anybody connecting to the unit when I am not at home?

At the moment I have yet to use my Pod Point as I am awaiting delivery of my new car. With regards to the installation process, it went well, but there were also some possible 'trip' hazards. I am currently going through some building work at my home, so with all of the photos/drawings supplied, Pod Point made recommendations about cable requirements as well as a need for me to upgrade my main fuse at home (which was replaced free of charge by Network Power) to a 100A fuse. The charger itself was not installed by Pod Point and I took the action to contact the installation company directly to confirm wiring runs etc ready for the install day. When the engineer did come along to fit the charger, (he was on time), he complained about the post code sending him to the wrong point (hardly my fault!) and I got the impression that he was looking for any excuse not to do the install. Fortunately my builder was on site to do any of the 'messy' work like chasing a small section of wall to run the cable. The engineer did not give a demonstration as to how the charger works, and handed me some literature from Pod Point for me to read. To be honest, dealing directly with Pod Point was a positive experience as post install they have helped answer any questions I have asked, but they might need to speak with their contractors about how they present themselves at clients properties.

Fitter arrived ok. Mis-measures and could easily have drilled through high voltage or gas equipment - more luck than judgement that he didn’t. Clean/tidy though.

Filling in the forms was not straight forward, I had many attempts before getting it right. In particular it would have been helpful to be able to speak to somebody. The process was anonymous. The installation process was excellent and efficient.

Interesting fitter sent to me! Who insisted on it would be a trip hazard where I want it installed (considering I never use the gate and it is only me that uses it seemed pretty idiotic!) I get there are guidelines to be followed but really?? I also wanted him to keep my front door closed on working within my property because of animals and it took several reminders for him to follow this simple guidance!!

Website and ordering process was easy; grant application less so. Installation was shoddy - debris left internally and externally, large hole in wall not filled in and the wrong unit installed.
