“The meat arrived 3 hours later than the delivery people had advised but the meat was still completely frozen. The inner packaging was designed to go on a compost heap and this is what we did with the cardboard box going in the recycling bin, so full marks for packaging and it just shows how well insulated it is. We have eaten the chicken and all agreed it was very tasty. The turkey breast is of course being saved for Christmas Day.”

“I hate writing negative reviews, especially when I haven’t given the company a chance to respond, but for something as important as a Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey, I feel obliged to be honest. First, the cost. Wow! I’ve never spent £100 to feed a family of four. Second, the quality. I spent more than 30 minutes plucking feathers before I had a chance to season, stuff and baste the turkey. Third (it could be my oven despite cooking six turkeys in the oven previously and cooking the turkey in the exact manner my family has for 60+ years) but it was the driest turkey ever. Fourth, there were no cooking instructions. I had to weigh the turkey myself and calculate cooking time. Although the farm’s instructions are suggestions, it’s always given me comfort and helped me plan. In the end, internal temperature is all that matters and everyone should remember that. Fourth, the turkey arrives frozen. Double check when yours arrives. I sadly won’t return as a customer for turkey, maybe something else if my local is unavailable.”

We understand that £100 for a family of four is a lot to spend and we are sorry that you had to spend extra time plucking feathers from your turkey and that your turkey was dry. We appreciate that you followed your family's traditional turkey cooking method and that you want to have clear cooking instructions. The free range Bronze Turkeys do have feathers that will cook away during the roasting of your bird, and we would love to hear more about your experience and how we can make it better.
