Well since you ask, I'll write here what I wrote at Trustpilot. No delivery of Easter order due, I'm told to DPD. However looking back through the feedback, this has been ongoing for years. Tale after tale of no Christmas/New Year deliveries, no communication, deleted social media attempts at communication. Well I suppose I was lucky. When there was no DPD text at 11.30am I emailed Piper's Farm. No ansa. I then phoned no ansa. Then, however I did get an email saying my food for Easter Sunday (the next day) would not be coming. I say this might be considered lucky because someone from Pipers farm at least did get back to me so I had time to dash out and get a replacement Easter meal. And the suggested recompense for ruining our Easter? A token for fifty quid off my next shop which is a big assumption -that I ever want to shop with them again! Come on Pipers Farm you need to stop blaming DPD. Yes they're rubbish but you keep on using them, knowing as sure as eggs is eggs you will be letting some customers down somewhere, every single high-day or holiday. Its such a shame because I want to buy sustainably and from nose to tail, but if you won't address issues with your delivery company you are not doing what you say on the tin. Reliable delivery is crucial to your business model and in this respect you are failing. I gave you 2 not 1 star because I wish you better than you are, and hope hope HOPE you will adapt and learn from the evidence. The same thing goes wrong again and again. Please wake up and smell the coffee.

I usually love Piper's Farm, but it has expanded so much I feel like there's no transparency about the fact that it's actually a network of farms rather than just supplying from 1 farm. There's also a ton of plastic (which is hard to prevent!) and it's soft plastic, which is difficult to recycle. Also, I can tell the company is starting to cut corners and engaging in some sandbaggery. I used to love the chicken sausages, but now the recipe has changed and is using non-hydrogenated vegetable oil, including sunflower oil, rice flour, and palm oil. I can taste the difference - it's now sticky and claggy - not to mention the much higher food miles now that it's using ingredients imported from very far away. I much preferred when they included pork fat instead. This is really disappointing! I'm planning to scale back my purchase of Pipers Farm goods.

I have always leaned on farm shops for our organic and grass-fed meat needs. This time around I decided to give Pipers Farm a whirl, drawn in by the family favourites box which seemed like a perfect fit for our family, especially with two boys who are always hungry. The delivery was on point - quick and hassle-free. But when we dove into the box, things started to unravel. Considering what we paid, the return on investment just wasn't there. The portions were on the smaller side the taste was lacking, and the meat was surprisingly tough. Overall, it was a letdown.

Last delivery it was the worst experience. No indication that some of the products were out of stock even if on the delivery date there were shown as available. No order paper was included in the delivery box as usual.

Disappointing order. The turkey breast had been shaped, presumably by cutting off “excess”, into a round shape that resembled a Wetherspoon’s Christmas special and had comparatively little taste compared to other similar birds I have bought elsewhere. The legs I bought were very tough, despite being slow-roasted using a previously successful recipe; they also produced a remarkably small amount of usable meat (again compared to similar birds previously bought). I had high hopes after reviewing the website, but was very disappointed and don’t intend to order from you again. I am also disappointed by the number of marketing messages I have received from you since ordering (for example, 6 emails in the few days since Christmas!). Please remove me from your marketing list.

I took delivery of my second purchase from you on Friday. I want to be clear with you, I love the products so it’s a real shame I won’t be using Piper’s again simply because the company you use for delivery is terrible. Our neighbour called to advise the box had been “delivered” to the hard standing by their garage. It was by chance they saw it as soon as they did otherwise it would have been missed. Only then, did I check DPD’s website, (as I hadn’t received any other notification to say delivery had taken place) and see the photo taken to show delivery but it was so dark it wasn’t clear where they’d left it. I’m trying to be careful where I source my meat but I’m not prepared to possibly miss the parcel delivery and the meat get spoilt or to go hunting for parcels in the dark. Really very sorry.

I hate writing negative reviews, especially when I haven’t given the company a chance to respond, but for something as important as a Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey, I feel obliged to be honest. First, the cost. Wow! I’ve never spent £100 to feed a family of four. Second, the quality. I spent more than 30 minutes plucking feathers before I had a chance to season, stuff and baste the turkey. Third (it could be my oven despite cooking six turkeys in the oven previously and cooking the turkey in the exact manner my family has for 60+ years) but it was the driest turkey ever. Fourth, there were no cooking instructions. I had to weigh the turkey myself and calculate cooking time. Although the farm’s instructions are suggestions, it’s always given me comfort and helped me plan. In the end, internal temperature is all that matters and everyone should remember that. Fourth, the turkey arrives frozen. Double check when yours arrives. I sadly won’t return as a customer for turkey, maybe something else if my local is unavailable.

Dear Rebecca, Thank you so much for your honest feedback about your experience with Pipers Farm. It means a great deal to us that you took the time to share your experience with us and we are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied. We take customer feedback seriously and want to make sure that everyone who gets Pipers Farm products have the best experience possible. We understand that £100 for a family of four is a lot to spend and we are sorry that you had to spend extra time plucking feathers from your turkey and that your turkey was dry. We appreciate that you followed your family's traditional turkey cooking method and that you want to have clear cooking instructions. The free range Bronze Turkeys do have feathers that will cook away during the roasting of your bird, and we would love to hear more about your experience and how we can make it better. Please do not hesitate to contact us by email on hello@pipersfarm.com if you have any questions or additional feedback for us to consider. Unfortunately Dpd didn't deliver until 1pm .... so food was partially defrosted! They usually deliver first thing in the morning. Additionally some gristle found in some products. Minced venison. Pork burgers. So considering if I will make further orders.

Hi Theresia, I am so sorry that your order arrived partially defrosted but I am grateful that you have let us know. I do hope that you were able to pop the items into the freezer as all Pipers Farm meat is safe to defrost and refreeze following our defrosting and refreezing guidelines. If any of your meat has thawed slightly during transportation it is completely safe to pop straight into your freezer. We keep your order in a chilled environment during delivery up until 11pm. It is then out on the road in our clever thermal packaging that stops the temperature from rising above 8C during delivery, so you never have to worry about your food being in transit. Why is 8C important? According to the Food Standards Agency temperatures over 8C to 63C are classified as 'the Danger Zone'. Food that reaches over 8C can kickstart any bacterial growth, however the colder the temperature the slower bacteria will grow. Cold temperatures in chilling or freezing delay chemical reactions within foods and put any bacteria that may be present on pause. One of the additional joys of shopping with Pipers Farm is that we are so different to the industrialized, globalised supply chains you find in supermarkets. From the way we rear our animals, right through to how we age, cut and store our meat, every part of our process is very different and the risks associated with harmful bacteria are proportionally so. We have tested, trialed and controlled every step of our process for over 35 years to provide you with complete confidence in the food you eat. If you have any questions, or if you would like us to look into the items received that contained gristle, we're always happy to help give you guidance. Please call us on 01392 881380 and a member of the team will be happy to help you. All the best Liz - Pipers Farm

Please put a sticker on you boxes that says "Perishable Goods" - "Please Knock at the Premises" - "Not Advised to Leave Outside". My delivery was left in my Greenhouse on a hot day and I was in all day - driver did not knock leading to food wastage and cost to me.

Hi Anna, Thank you for taking the time to let me know about your experience with Piper's Farm, Anna. I apologize for having to go through the trouble of wasting food and the cost that came with it. I take your feedback seriously and appreciate you sharing it with us. DPD should be delivering directly to you and I apologise that this did not happen with your recent delivery. If they do not deliver in person, DPD will leave the parcel somewhere safe as our goods are perishable. DPD do have a really helpful app, which enables you to pin point exactly where your delivery should be left and add delivery instructions We are really sorry that this has happened - please do contact our Customer Service team (hello@pipersfarm.com) regarding the damaged items and I am sure that they will rectify this for you. So sorry once again that this happened All the best Liz - Pipers Farm

When I received my order it was left outside, with no attempt to contact me although I was in. Luckily I heard them drop it off. The two ice packs were still frozen, but the way they positioned in the bag did not seem to keep the meat frozen, and the smaller piece was defrosted, the larger cuts were half defrosted.

The sirloin steak I ordered was sinewy. I was expecting better quality. I reordered meat from Pipers because of the good quality received before when I ordered lamb shank. Just thought I would let you know the sirloin steak was not to standard.

The steak I ordered was supposed to be for 2 people , I basically got a thick loin of Beef about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide and deep , tasted nice but not what you expect when You order ribeye and sirloin and just get to big Lumps meat and grisal. For £60 was far expensive and if I had seen first what I was getting I wouldn’t have brought it even if it was for £10 .

Although I bought quite some time ago what I do remember is that the chicken looked as if it had lived in a freezer for several years and was tasteless once defrosted and the same applies to the steak. If I wanted to buy frozen meat I wouldn't pay over the odds for it but buy from ALDI. Furthermore it's not organic. I unsubscribed from this site so I don't know why they would want a review. Bottom line the meat is tough and tasteless.

I really was looking forward to leaving a good review but I'm sorry the picture that is shown of your pies is not what I got. I had the steak and otter pie and my wife had chicken and ham. I found it lacked flavour, the gravy was bland and had hardly any meat but plenty of potato! Not impressed with the pastry either. My wife's chicken pie also lacked flavour although she said there was enough chicken and ham. I ordered other meat items etc which seem to be ok but, just disappointed about the pies.

I was disappointed with the Shin of Beef. Scraps of meat. The acid test would I serve it to guests? No. Shin of beef should be decent size pieces not odds and ends.

Valentine's Supper. The steaks looked good but overall the meal deal did not appear to be very good value. The packaging was unsatisfactory. The outer box was ridiculously big. The contents were not secured. The fruit compote plastic pot and one of the sauce plastic pots had split and fruit compote had leaked over the other contents. The order was for Valentine's supper and I had ordered it to be delivered on the 14th for freshness. It arrived at just after 5pm on the 14th still part frozen. I had to defrost the food before I could cook it. Given that this meal deal was for a specific date, Valentine's night, it should have been made very clear that the food would arrive frozen. Had I realised this I would have ordered the food to be delivered on the 13th. We have had previous good experiences with Piper's Farm so I'm afraid this was a disappointment. Pipers Farm need to pay more attention to detail in the future.

I ordered some oat milks as they are a good price, but adding on the postage makes them the same as my local supermarket. But as it saves me carrying them, I ordered. But they were crushed by the other things I added to the order. One pack was badly crushed, but had not leaked thankfully, but when I shook it before opening, it leaked and went all over the place. The gluten free loaf is the exact same one our local health food shop sells for a lower price. As I don't eat meat, so won't need anything else, I don't see the point in ordering again.
