Friendly service but user interface is clunky and difficult to use. Not practical to leave comments on photos to ask for them to be moved around (even when such photos were uploaded in the correct order) - should be able to drag and drop when revising before printing. Quality is good but I have abandoned moving photos around due to the time it takes to leave comments and ask for them to be moved.

Hi Chris, Thanks for your feedback. As they do on your computer, photos are saved in the album by name or date and not in the order you upload them. If you would like the photos used in a sequence that is different from their name/date, it's best to rename them in the correct order before uploading. Our design service includes unlimited free revisions, and while it's easy to annotate your comments directly on a photo/s, it can get tedious if you need to move a lot of photos around in the design. That said, we're soon releasing a new DIY option that will allow you to review and move photos around as much as you want, we hope to have this live in the next few weeks! Best regards, Sonia

We were pleased with our wedding photo book in the end, but have some advice for those thinking about using PikPerfect and weighing up which type of album to order because we ordered a premium version for ourselves and a standard layflat copy for our parents. The premium version is definitely of a higher quality and finish, so if money is no object then go for that one. However, the price difference between the two is significant and I do not think the difference in quality is proportionate to the difference in price. In hindsight, I would have been happy with the standard layflat for ourselves which is still a really good product and finish. There are also a couple of other things to be aware of when ordering. Firstly in the FAQ section of the website it says that the designer will edit photos, including cropping, where they would be improved. We had some that obviously needed cropping and I marked those in the relevant file names so they stood out (and was happy for the designer to use their discretion to edit any others). However, when the first draft was issued, my file names had been ignored and none had been edited/cropped. I then had to crop them myself and send the images back which meant more to-ing and fro-ing with drafts than should have been necessary. It’s just something to be aware of in terms of how hands on you need to be when you’re paying for a designer to provide a service and do this for you. Secondly, when I registered with PikPerfect, I received a welcome email with a discount code of NEW25 for 25% off. The email had no small print / qualifying text and gave the impression that the discount would be taken off the order total. This is what swayed us towards choosing the premium version of the album as we thought we could bring the overall cost down. However, when we placed the order, and applied the discount, it only reduced the design service fee (which was £33, thus the discount was only £8.25 off an order total of over £400). When I complained, we were offered a slightly better deal, but still did not get 25% off the order total which is what the welcome email implies. Again, it’s just something that new customers should be aware of.

I was happy with the item received, the album itself is very good quality. It was vey expensive though, much more than I wanted to pay. The costs build up after every section of the process - the ‘design fee per page’ in particular I felt was a sneaky last minute addition, deliberately placed there because it is too much effort to return by that point. Also, i was disappointed with the customer service. If a material is not available, regardless of whether it is your fault or not, the first rule is to apologise and accept responsibility. The second rule is to offer an alternative solution or a cancellation. I don’t feel these basic rules were followed - there was a reluctance to cancel the order when we requested. I now know that was because the order had already been partly printed, but with all respect, that is not our problem! It was a huge amount of money so I wasn’t willing to compromise on what we had originally requested. Luckily a solution was found in the end though.

The estimated total for your album is always displayed below every draft you receive. You choose the largest premium album we offer along with multiple add-ons which does increase the cost, but your designer will always be happy to change to something different during the design process, based on your feedback. Chose a lay flat wedding album, and really pleased with the end result. But found the experience quite frustrating and stressful, not being able to communicate directly with PikPerfect other than by email, was at times infuriatingly slow, getting a simple question answered took a week with 4 emails.

The book I ordered was good but if I am honest I have had better printing down through one of Appel printing service which sadly are no longer available and at a lower cost.

Hi! We're sorry to hear you're not entirely satisfied with your photobook. The print quality should be at least as good as what you've received from Apple in the past. I ordered three lay flat albums. The photos were put together lovely and the paper is really high quality. However the joining of the pages is weak and already coming apart at the top.

Hi Niamh,  We're sorry to hear your album did not arrive in perfect condition. Based on the information you also emailed us, DHL seems to have left your package out in the rain, so this most likely damaged the albums. We have filed a complaint with DHL, and will of course also reprint and send out free replacements for these. Kind regards, Nick

Ich finde die Preisgestaltung auf der Homepage sehr unübersichtlich. Auf den ersten Blick geht nicht daraus hervor, dass die Gestaltungsgebühr nicht in dem angegebenen Preis für das Buch beinhaltet ist, obwohl diese ja auf jeden Fall anfällt. Die vorgeschlagenen Layouts haben mich erst nach mehreren Versionen überzeugt. Zu Anfang konnte man keinen Unterschied zu einem vom Programm erstellten Layout erkennen. Für mich hat die Erstellung genauso viel Zeit in Anspruch genommen, als wenn ich es gleich selbst gemacht hätte.

do not feel the "professional expert" help in setting up the album were not very helpful. It seems everything was done routinely with no thought in the set up and flow of the album otherwise the album was attractive but not worth the price.

Hi, I ordered a premium flat album with linen blue cover for my wedding with an additional small copy for my parents. The service is 5/5, Kai the design assistant was extremely kind and understood very quickly what I expected from the photos layout. However the final product is not of an excellent quality, particularly in relation to the price paid (about 300 CHF for one album). I don't feel the difference with an album from "once upon" app which costs

I am very happy with the finished product! The experience/process however, was not a positive one. It took 8 drafts to get what I asked. If they took the time to double-check my requests and their work, it could have been finished in half of the drafts. It was small mistakes like missing a border on a page, that made the process so long and drawn out.

The pictures themselves were beautiful and high quality and the design team was friendly and accommodating. However, each revision took at least another day, and we sometimes had to explain things several times before they understood what we wanted. It would have been nice if there were a way to communicate with the design team in real time or to just make small changes ourselves. Additionally, we ordered the premium, flush-mount album, which was supposed to have extra-thick, rigid pages, but the pages were not as thick as most other wedding albums I've seen and still a bit bendable, so it seems somewhat misleading to call it extra-thick and rigid. Moderately-thick and semi-rigid at best.

Hi David, I'm sorry you're not entirely happy with the album. The page thickness we use is an industry standard and what you'll receive from most professional album makers. While we can offer even thicker pages on request, doing so significantly reduces the maximum number of pages and hence is not a popular option. Kind regards, Nick

Good: Very quick in making the changes as requeste Bad: The paper was so much thinner than expected. For a regular/ family/ vacation album yes, this is it. But if youre thinking for a wedding album, no, the material is too cheap.. compare a $1200 album with $250 album then the material is just right.. what you pay is what you get.

Hi Katie, while the thinner albums are very popular with customers who are looking for a great product at a reasonable price, if you're looking for the best we have to offer, you should go with a premium flushmount album.
