“The plan of the site I wanted was out of date: the plot was incorrect, and the buildings on the plot were inaccurate. When I queried this I was told it was the fault of Ordnance Survey which is probably the case....but there is no way that the basic map could be altered. The red and blue lines were a pain to incorporate because of the basic faults with the map. However I guess it saved a trip to Stanfords, which if I had been in London would have been my preferred option.”

“At no point was I given the option of a dwg format the png format does not allow it to be used by an autocad drawing. So I had to trace the outline which took time.”

“I was encouraged to enter your site when reading the word "free". I printed a plan to submit with my planning application and paid over £15. Nothing more to say.”

Dear Joyce Thanks for the feedback. The plans are to scale when printed on A4 and if we showed the whole page as a map the price would be many times more. For most purposes that size map is sufficient e.g. for planning applications. We do however sell A4 maps via our professional site www.mapserve.co.u. Hope that helps.

“Obviously this is just another of those companies who pay for the rights to access OS maps and I have found all the prices are similar and you get the same plan from all of them. It would help if they actually added some features of their own such as which way is North, a basic requirement for planning but still something you have to add yourself. I did think it was expensive for what you get especially when you then have to draw in may items yourself, they are certainly not planning standard maps.”

“1) Simple to use; 2) when using the red line option to outline the property it put the boundary on the inside elevation of the building which sits on the boundary, rather than on its outside, necessitating a manual adjustment on a hardcopy which then had to be re-scanned for submission with the planning application; 3) at £13 it's quite pricey for what you get, when you consider you can buy an OS map for £9.”

“I ordered a plan at 1:500 and 1:1250 for planning application. Be very careful to ensure you don't end up with a cropped image for the large scale plan as I did. You have to scale the viewed location to include more detail. Do not just go for what is shown in default. It is not obvious and not clear how much of the detail you will be given at A4. I won't use this site again as I wasted my money and sadly got something I cannot submit to the local authority planners.”

“One problem I had was with the manual outline tool, it seemed ok onscreen but when printed the outline didn't match up with the boundaries and there was no way to go back and correct it . Perhaps some facility to edit could be provided I would welcome your comments. Regards Gary Edwards”
