“Easy access, rapid definition of the required zone, efficient and simple dowmload of results. The cost, however, is exhorbitant and frankly, a disgraceful ripoff for myself as a private user.”

“About the same as the others, same price, same difficulty, it seems expensive for a sheet of pdf, but there's no alternative to the few places you have to use to buy a plan.”

“The marking of the plans needs to be more user friendly. Once purchased the plans should be available for editing without a further charge.”

“Simple software to use however the results when printing where not what I expected. I had marked one large area in red and a part of the area in blue unfortunately the red lines were not visible and I had to make corrections with a pen. Also the scale on the plan was very small image to the size of the plan.”

Dear Raymonde thank you for the review and feedback. The plan should cover an entire sheet of A4 if printed at 100% size. The map portion however is only a portion of this otherwise the scale would not be correct. We also need to display copyright information, location and licence details. “I have some concerns regarding the ability to scale the plans to take measurements. I set the printer to copy at 100% and when I check my scale rule measurement against the scale on the print there is a discrepancy. So I cannot safely take measurements off the plan”

“i tend to use other providers for OS mapping as Buyaplan does not seem to offer a black and white print option, and the ground coverage area is a bit mean, so context is a bit lacking.”

“Fairly easy to use except for the coloured lines addition. So I printed plans and did it manually. The scale is inflexible. The four and a half acre holding didn't quite fit to the page but, as the alternative was a much smaller scale, I opted for the drawing with the corners missing. Is this something BuyAPlan can deal with?”

“Easy to buy and download, but unable to resize. It wasn’t A4 because with all the headers on page, it was only A5 sized map. No good to me, disappointed and a waste of £30”

Dear Moira, all OS map providers have a 1 year expiry license and then you can purchase additional license years separately if you need to. It is standard with OS mapping. “Your website states that these are suitable for Planning applications, but I often find that only one street name will show up on my desired scale. Planning authorities require 2 named streets on a Location Plan otherwise they often won't accept the location plan. I continue you purchase off you however as I like the plan from an aesthetic point of view, but feel if you are advertising that they are suitable for planning applications then they should always show 2 street names no matter the scale. Dear Annette, thank you for the review. In some areas it may not be possible to fit on two street names due to the way the Ordnance Survey mapping has been created. This is particularly common in rural areas. Our plans (in PDF version) also show an OS grid reference (an easting and northing) which will help locate the planning office into the exact location thereby negating the need for street names. I hope this helps.

“You offer a good service and I liked the fact that I could draw the boundary line around my unusual shaped boundaries myself. Problem is there is no zoom facility to ensure the rather crude placement of the cursor falls exactly in the right place. Even if your 'delete' facility allowed only the last point to be deleted, it would be an improvement. As an ex-MOD Cartographer I would be happy to advise you on how to improve the facility. Robin”
