“You offer a good service and I liked the fact that I could draw the boundary line around my unusual shaped boundaries myself. Problem is there is no zoom facility to ensure the rather crude placement of the cursor falls exactly in the right place. Even if your 'delete' facility allowed only the last point to be deleted, it would be an improvement. As an ex-MOD Cartographer I would be happy to advise you on how to improve the facility. Robin”

“plans are decent value... the mark up process could be improved for red lining sites, as some authorites will not accept the way the lines are automaticallyt added”

“Having the Video as help is good to talk you through it all. But Aswell as a 1:500 and 1:1200 I want a 1:2500 and the image won’t down load in preview for what ever reason, and I am still wanting this if you could contact me. Also I would have been happy paying for a paper copy in the post if you could have don this”

Hello Jaki and thanks for taking the time to provide a review for us! We always make sure to have the latest update of OS Mastermap, provided by the OS. This map is updated every 6 weeks and there is an ongoing survey all over the UK making sure that the map is as accurate as possible. However, if there you find there is something wrong the OS is always happy to review and correct it so I would suggest you contact them and let them know what you found. “The basics were there but very little information. The plans didn’t even have our own house number on so for what we paid for both plans we were a little disappointed. As we don’t have a printer we couldn’t even print off and add further details. However, it was sufficient for us to send our application to the council.”

Thanks for the enquiry. In some areas it may not be possible to fit two street names due to the way the Ordnance Survey mapping has been created and not all of the houses feature the house number. Our plans (PDF version only) also show an OS grid reference (an easting and northing) which will help locate the planning office into the exact location thereby negating the need for street names. We recommend contacting your planning office to explain this as the alternative is to manually add the number on after printing it out.

“The plans are great but it's a shame that the printable areas are only square. Most plots are long and thin and would fit much better within an oblong of either A4 or A3.”

“I actually bought 3 plans, First one was my mistake and did not know which one I wanted. I bought a second plan which was not the size requested by the Council. With these two I did not have a problem. The third I purchased was supposed to be the correct size and I did the same things as for purchasing the other two. However when I downloaded it and sent it to the council I was told it was not the correct size. On review I realised that the plan I bought was different to the one that I downloaded. I contacted buy a plan but they did not believe me. I said why would I purchase two of the same size plans from you within a few days? It took some time to convince them that what i was saying was correct but they insisted on seeing letter from Council rejecting the plans before giving me money back. The other problem I found was that I found it very confusing when contacting them as website is not very clear about contacts. There was a drop down list but i never really new if the information had been sent or not, until I received a response.”

“Easy to use but when printing out the plan, the map comes out rather small. Would have preferred an A4 size print rather than half A4.”

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. The plan should cover an entire sheet of A4 if printed at 100% size. The map portion however is only a portion of this otherwise the scale would not be correct. We also need to display copyright information, location and licence details.

“Good site and easy to use. But the boundary marker tool is not very good. The line is very thin, and sometimes the line on the final plan is not quite where I place it using the tool. So I often print the plan myself and add my own red line. I use the site with some reluctance, as a 1:500 block plan often adds nothing at all to the substance of an application (e.g. where replacement windows in a listed building are proposed, and nothing else) and is just a bureaucratic pointless expense. But that's not your fault...”
