The root ball was too small for height of plant so very difficult to keep it stable while bedding in.

Some plants had some non variegated branches which had to be pruned out, reducing their size and density significantly. Also leaf spotting/rusting evident on all plants indicating either fungal infection or kept in stressful conditions. Hopefully will pick back up now planted.

Following my adverse review (below) and to their credit, Paramount Plants immediately offered a partial refund and have given a commitment to review their procedures. Packing for all the plants was very poor. Loose packaging in large boxes just doesn't work. Pots were received with only partially filled and compost spread all over the boxes. The Sarcococca is a very robust plant and has grown away well after planting. The Miscanthus are now growing strongly. The Calamagrostis were very poor plants some of which were so poor you replaced them but even the replacements are very weak. The main problem is undeveloped root systems and pots delivered with virtually no compost in them because of poor packaging; they were delivered unlabelled.

Am concerned as one of my potted grasses is showing no sign of life at all. Miscanthus sinensis zebrinus is apparently still dormant/dead? i ordered a large pot so that there was potential for dividing into small parts to plant on. I don't want to wait until midsummer and to find it was dead. Any advice or comment please Paramount Plants. Valerie Bowden

Good quality plants but consistency of plants supplied varies and accuracy of images not great and lead time way too long These are supposed to be the same plant

Excellent sales service and communication but delivery was poor. Expensive trees arrived chucked on the back of a van on their sides with branches broken. They were very heavy and the driver could not help me move them to the back garden

The trees need to be laid down during transportation on the back of our trucks as this is best practice for safe delivery to our customers. Our drivers are on strict tight deadlines to meet for loading/unloading of deliveries and unfortunately, as per our terms and conditions, drivers are to leave deliveries at front of the property. This is also stated on your order confirmation upon order placed. This is the 1st time I have used Paramount Plants. Whilst I was surprised/disappointed that the 1.5M high skeeters broom acer was delivered without any form of protection (hence just 3 stars) it did appear to have survived its journey unscathed, probably more by good luck than good management. The plant was not cheap and I would have expected some form of protection against all of the dangers faced during its transit would have been a fundamental requirement. Notwithstanding my concerns regarding its transport the plant appears to be healthy and generally complies with the description on the web site in terms of its form and size. I have many years experience of growing acers and only time will tell if the plant is free from any inherent problems and genuinely healthy.

The company seams efficiently managed. Trees arrived to schedule. The driver wasn’t particularly courteous which was made worse as he was driving their liveried lorry. The trees themselves were tall specimens and expensive for us. When unwrapped I would say that I wasn’t stunned by the quality. They looked like they had been stood rootballed for a long length of time as the hessian wrap was green with algae. The wrapping of the branches had damaged some of the stems and branches. Our hope is though that they will recover but I am not sure they will. We did soak them for the three days prior to planting as they were very dry. And leaves were falling. Only after that did I see the mention in an email about reporting any issues within three days. Overall saddened at the condition of the trees.

For the price paid I’m disappointed in the size and the root ball of the plant provided, it met the minimum size at an absolute push. Lesson learnt

Three large Firethorns delivered on time, with the plants in a good condition. No product issues. Only 3 star rating given due to what I consider to be excessive carriage costs and a long 3 week delivery window. In this age of next day delivery, it at least needs to be the same week. Otherwise, plants are good, thank you!

Took weeks to come and the sizes were variable. I don’t understand why the garden centre is still closed. It would be so much easier to go and choose them and bring them back the same day.

Plant received was OK - I appreciate its not been the best weather this past month. long grass 'weeds' growing from top of pot did not create a great first impression. Hoping to see this plant thrive once the weather picks up.

Initially all seemed OK, but after planting the 10 trees, one was clearly not we'd ordered. I emailed & sent photos. Waiting back to hear about delivery of the correct tree. Seems very odd that 9 trees were correct. However, being in our 70s and 50 yards to our back garden, to dig up the wrong tree which means lifting it out of the hole (we put it in as concerned it would die otherwise) - not an easy task at our ages. It clearly states items are only delivered to front of property, but in this instance, help from a delivery person would be appreciated as this issue is not our fault.

The information I received was informative and the delivery arrived on time with a very helpful driver. However, the magnolia does seem a bit stressed. I've had the tree for nine days and it went into the ground the day after it arrived, with blood fish and bone in the base of the hole as you recommended. There were some yellow leaves and some that were already dead. Some seemed to have holes in them too. I contacted you about it and have been advised to keep it watered - it did seem a bit dry when it arrived. The tree is just what I wanted, blocking the view of new houses built at the bottom of my garden, so I hope it revives.
