“I am extremely disappointed with my new Original Organics wormery. I’m experienced with wormeries, having had one for over 12 years, and which still performs well. I was concerned that the new one does not have air holes in the lid, but followed the instructions nevertheless. Sadly, within one week, there was a horrible stench from the unit. On opening it, the sump was full of dead worms in decomposing fluid. I cleaned it out thoroughly (and was devastated that the worms had died). The wormery was in my garage. I ordered new worms locally, re-started the wormery and checked it 5 days later. Sadly, the sump had again started to fill with 5 or 6 dead worms, which were in a foul smelling, bloody liquid. Other worms were still working in the waste food, so I cleaned it out, emptied it out again, and put the remaining worms into my old wormery, Your wormery is now empty and, I’m afraid to say, will remain that way. I can’t see how such a sealed unit, with no air holes, can be effective, and I will not alliw any further poor worms to suffer and die.”

“I purchased a second wormery, this time of the stacking variety because I felt it looked more aesthetically pleasing. However I now wish I had stuck with the ‘dustbin’ type. The latter is far more sturdy, more weatherproof and shaped more easily to protect with fleece over Winter. The stacking type is really too lightweight and flimsy in my opinion. Hope this is useful.”

“After previously buying water butts from Original Organics we ran out of saved water last summer (it was a bit dry) so we decided to extend our storage. We bought four new butts and have them in cascade from one of our downpipes. One of the lids arrived damaged and was replaced quickly. I have nothing but praise for Original Organics. Hoping for a less dry summer though.”
