“A review for Trades - We have been with them as trade partners for a number of years, but unfortunately they are absolutely adamant that they cannot allow you to keep your credits for longer than the stated six month period, with the result that if you have a seasonal business, and you are happy to keep paying and accumulating credits monthly through the quiet season in readiness for the busy period, you are losing credits as fast as you are paying for them. We have tried to discuss this via contacting them, but they are disappointingly adamant that 'the computer says no' and nothing will move them to allow me to keep paying them monthly, without them taking the same amount of credits away simultaneously. It's disappointing as much for the robot response as it is for the illogical nature of the policy. We have previously recommended them to other trades but can no longer do so.”

“I got JR roofing from Antrim to fix my Mothers roof(15 tiles of in one of the storm last year) he came done the job, told me there was long guarantee on the job which he did not do himself but got a young lad up to do) everything looked ok so my 90 year old mother paid him £350.00 for 15 tiles and less than 2 hours work, 2 days later 10 of the tiles had fallen down again, ten times I got threw to him and ten times promised to call and fix it but never came back, this man is a liar and a con man, the local man I finally got to fix this told me they did not even sucker the tiles just slipped them back in place, does your site vet these people or do you just take them for their word, which from Jason is total lies”

“Through 'myjobquote', ( job no: YGI - V85NGP)I hired an electrician called FRANK.SPARK, to give me an EICR certificate. He quoted me £120 which I accepted and paid him for in advance as he insisted.. He then said I needed some work done for the certificate and quoted me £164 for materials and £280 labour. Again he wanted payment in advance. I should have seen the warning flags, I guess by now. He did the work and it took me nearly a week of daily chasing to get the certificate and invoice. My tenant told me he completed the work in 30/35 minutes!! This equates to a staggering almost £560 per hour!! My advice is be VERY cautious about using this man. Check how many hours the work would take, which I didn't do, to my cost. I'm a pensioner and told him this but it still didn't stop him from doing this to me. I have subsequently found out through this site that electricians typically charge around £200 PER DAY, NOT PER HALF HOUR!! I know I've been too trusting, should have asked more questions and not paid in advance as he insisted. I've since done some research into him and his other trading/banking names. I should have done this. Learn from my mistakes, please.”

“I hired election from rated people the man did good excellent job but broke my ceiling light fan dropped it smashed then outside solar flame light on the wall he didn't press button so it's dark outside for me not bothered to replace it it just left it unprotected bright lights I'm very upset I'm never going to hire from this company again I'm not buying another fan light they cost lot I'm really mad that this happens to me”

“Booked David from Strathclyde roofers to clean and clear gutters, quoted£70 could come that day, great price I thought. Didn't clean-up behind him then he said my roof needs cleaning he can do it for half price the next afternoon but would need £100 in advance. I forgot to say he said the gutters needed a repair and that was £50 which I paid him, a short chat with my wife and we took his advice to get the roof cleaned scraped up the £100 and paid him, he went away and said he would be back next afternoon. My wife and I later decided we could not afford it so next morning at 8.15 I phoned him but got no answer I phoned again at 9.30leftmessage to cancel and return my £100 as I could not afford it, I have sent text s and phone messages but still not answering. After erylooking at the gutters they don't look very clean and did not clean up when he was finished, the first thing I had to ask him was to stop swearing as we are Christians.”

“Wow. What can I say about the workmanship of RL Paving & landscape. Airdrie. Well, nothing really as they never bothered to turn up. Despite having agreed back in August for them to lay a 5mt square base with the work to commence on the 1 November. Robert contacted me mid October to confirm the date. 1 November came and no sign of them or any contact whatsoever despite me calling, leaving voicemail and text messages. Robert eventually contacted me the following day to say that his daughter had been taken ill and he’d been in hospital all night. Obviously family takes precedence. He assured me that he would definitely start my job on Monday 3rd of November. Again a no show. Same scenario, calls, voicemail and texts, no communication whatsoever. The following day he messaged me to say his van had broken down and was being repaired. He told me he’d be arriving either the Thursday afternoon or the Friday morning, promising me that the work would be carried out. That was the last I heard from them. No excuses this time around , if no communication at all. So DLPaving & Landscape left me in the dark as to why they never turned up. It’s definitely not the way to run a business, communication was abysmal. The one star is given as the system doesn’t allow for zero star ratings. So in the end I’ll never know if DL Landscape are any good.”

“The man from Macdonaldworx came on 10th October. He said he would send photos to us and do the job on Friday 17th. A woman phoned early on Friday 17th to cancel. She phoned on Monday 20th to reschedule for Friday 24th, but no-one turned up. Attempts to phone them since have failed. One number is 'temporarily unavailable' and when we phone the other the receiver is put down. In other words we have been conned out of our deposit of £225.”

“The person who came CURTIS TYLER if Hartcliffe Bristol. Came through after I had booked a person that could not be available for about a week So this person Curtis came through send he could erect my 5’ x3” metal fence straight away the following day. So he came to my house I said I had already booked somebody but they were not available for a while. He said I will do he had done a few before. He asked was there anything else I showed him what needed doing. He said he could do these thing and was giving me a price as he was going along. All sounded great. He was prompt the next day and I left him to start he said I’ve put all the sides of shed together. It looked ok to me. He said he couldn’t do anymore of that until the wind died down. Understandable. So he started at the back of my garden filling in with cement etc. came 5 days every day he would do half an hour then sit in his van for an hour. One day he said he had to pop to do a quote he would be back in an hour. He returned parked up stayed in his van. Then came into my garden after three hours. Very strange person. BEWARE fraudster bogus person. Got the gear sounds so genuine. I’m an elderly pensioner with artificial limbs. He lives in ZHartcluffe so he says. He needs to be struck off. Sounds too good to be true it usually is. The wolf in sheep’s clothing. I can’t wait for reviews on this male.”

“I had recently joined up with My Job Quote on the free trial. After 1 week I decided it wasn't for me so I unsubscribed then after 2 weeks I stopped receiving email, however although my page showed posts are banned from this page after 2 weeks they took £46 from my account. I was talking to a guy James who just kept going on and on telling me that I will not be getting any money back because no company gives money back even companies like Netflix and companies like that ( his words ). It's a joke there's no free trial avoid them if you want to keep your money”

“The trader didnt turn up on time and didnt complete sll that was required. MyJobQuote spoke to trader but then turned around and oh well better luck next time, did nothing to help mediate the issue at all. Would not recommend them to anybody in my opinion they are happy to have rogue traders on there site and they done care.”

“I posted a job for a concrete base. I got a few quotes and decided to go with a company called Decrotive Driveways. The guys name is Andy and he asked for payment on completion because he had to pay the concrete company unfortunately the base is not level in the corners and is also skew. After sending Andy messages for the last 4 days and trying to call him with no answer it seems that he is not a trustworthy person and his company should not be allowed to advertise on sites like MyJobQuote.”
