Well we tried long and hard to replicate this issue but could not find any reason why this would happen. It didn't affect any other users either so we can only assume it might have been a local issue with connection, wifi, or similar. We are sorry you were disappointed this time but please do try again as we are confident you won't face such a situation in the future.

Hi Alan Thanks both for your review, and for taking the time to discuss this. The issue related to the fact the link from our site to the insurers took time to load and you never reached them. We retested the links and they are working perfectly but in retrospect I do wonder if there was a temporary issue at the insurers end - as that could have caused this situation. Hi Robert, We did reply - as soon as we opened in the morning with the following reply (could you check your junk mail do you think to see if it went there?): Hi Robert, I am sorry, but the policy will not be valid if you buy it after you have collected the car. The insurers rely on the report agreed on collection regarding damage on the vehicle, so would not the know if any subsequent damage had occurred before of after you bought the policy. The only way to do it would be to return the car, and then start a new agreement having bought a policy in the meantime, but I am not sure if Hertz would allow that.
