“Sadly, I wasn’t able to complete the transaction the website would not allow me to pay which meant I had to pay the full extra rate for the hire car I have at the moment.”

“Very detailed, maybe a little too detailed i certainly saved money using money maxim, but the amount of offers from. Same company, all about £1 difference made it confusing”

“Most of the providers' poorest reviews are from people who had had to make a claim (most of the good reviews were from people who had not have to claim). One provider had good reviews from customers who had claimed but their policies were (understandably) more expensive than all the others. Mark from MoneyMaximiser subsequently explained that claims problems are rare and when they do occur MoneyMaximiser often help to resolve issues.”

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - and for subsequently chatting through your concerns. This is not an issue we see to be honest - as claim handling is an efficient process and claims are normally paid within a few days. In the normal scheme of things the only reason that delays occur is when the required paperwork such as the hire agreement, details of the claim etc is not provided, an issue that is quickly rectified. There was an occasion a few years ago when a insurer changed underwriter and, for a short period, experienced system issues - at that time we did at that time work with affected users in ensuring their claims were settled - that was exceptional. We will always lend a hand to our users though if required - whether they have queries when buying, have forgotten when insurer they used, or need support having made a claim. The MoneyMaxim Team

“LIke the site. Easy to use. The reason I am marking it down is that the quote I was given for a CDW excess policy with Questor was not the price that was presented once I'd clicked through to the provider to complete the purchase. Kind of defeats the object.”

So many thanks for taking the time to review us. We do try to strike a balance with our service between giving comprehensive information at a glance from the different providers and being simple to use – but this clearly left you cold. I also wonder if there elements of our service you didn't find as comprehensive is a word other repeated in the reviews users give us. If so we would love to give you a tour! We do try our best, offering filters to hone the options to a shorter list, and our user reviews to give a value measure, but we are sorry you feel disappointed. “Site was ok but 1 of the company,s I picked to use when I got to register my details Norton flagged it up as a risky website. Not good????”

Hi - thank you for your feedback - it gave us a chance to review this in more depth. We have checked all three sites you visited from us - and checked them using Norton, and all three have been verified as safe and given a big green tick. Whether there was a momentary problem, either with the site or Norton, or whether it was a combination of factors (as your ip address was indicating you were located in Russia) I am not sure - but suffice to say all seems well now. Hi Paul Many thanks for your review – that was really interesting – I don’t remember the last time we have heard that! After contacting you it appears that having used our site to compare you then visited a insurer directly. Whilst many insurers offer our users discounts the one you chose don't and you subsequently went directly to them and purchased from them - at exactly the same price as you saw on MoneyMaxim. The good news from our perspective is that there was no better deal deal - but only a matching one - so our reputation as a place to find great deals on car hire excess insurance remains unsullied!

“Used to compare hire van insurance excess. However my 1st choice for this increased in cost once transferred to the supplier’s site, so then had a to try different option which wasn’t as good as what I originally thought I’d be getting. Seems the company concerned we’re just putting a “headline” figure in the comparison to draw in customers, then increase costs.”

Oh this is odd! We have retraced your steps and clicked out to the first company - and the price matches to the penny. We have also checked the details we display for the second firm and that works too. We have therefore contacted you to see if we can resolve this, but can categorically say that there is no intention on either our, or our partners to mislead. As the vast majority of reviews say normally we are as clear as can be!

Hi Michael That should not be the case - in fact the insurers offer our user discounts of up to 35% through our site, many of them unique to our customers. The policy you clicked out from our service was 16% cheaper than going directly as well, so I am not quite sure what happened.
