“Brought my Look 585 over to Mapdec to “make it lovely again” and that’s just what they’ve done. Did what was needed doing to a very high standard and keep me “in the loop” throughout. Didn’t do what didn’t need doing; so kept the cost very acceptable. Top marks, worth the trip across the Pennines.”

“Great service and buying experience. As a woman , I’ve not always had the best experiences in bike shops but Mapdec were brilliant. I got sound expert advice that made sense and I felt listened to. I’d highly recommend Mapdec to anyone looking for a real cycling specialist. You should have seen my smile when I finally got out on my new Time bike so expertly built (once the grit was cleared)! Thanks all.”

“We had a problem with a retrofitted e-bike where the battery/motor no longer worked. Mapdec invested a lot of time diagnosing the issues, and in the end, we decided to replace the system, which Mapdec did, involving us in selecting the optimum components. The team is professional and friendly, and the pricing is fair and reasonable. It's great to have such an excellent service in Kendal. I would not hesitate to recommend them for servicing or repairs, and if I wanted a new custom bike, I would also approach them first.”

I cant speak for the price because other dealers do not publish their prices. However, when this customer collected their bike they were very happy with the function. This was a Santa Cruz eBike. We were tasked to repair some broken fixings that hold on the motor cover, repair gears resulting from a bent hanger and cage, fix a poorly functioning rear brake and fix a One Up components dropper post. We were also tasked to replace a rear tyre provided. This was an enduro fit with a CushCore Lining. We did have an issue where this was leaking air and we were asked to take another look and fix the leak. We spent an additional 2.5 hours removing that tyre, cleaning off all the old sticky tape, sanding down the rim, replacing rim, and refitting the tyre. We had the bike for a further few hours and did not encounter a leak while it was in the shop. This customer asked us to hurry this job and do this work to a tight schedule considering our current work load. We did this and put ourselves under a lot of stress to deliver on time. As far as we know the work was completed to our usual high standard and we did not receive a complaint at the time. If we had, we would have fixed it immediately. We charged 4 hours labour total. Rear wheel - remove tape, cean rim, fit tape, refit tyre Service Rear Brake with Sticky Caliper, Replace pads and bleed. Straighten rear mech hanger Straighten rear mech cage. Tune gears, clean chain. Strip and service One Up Components Dropper. Replace cable Remove Motor cover, remove rivut, replace with larger M4 versions with new bolts, rebuild I feel this is a fair amount of time, and our prices were clearly displayed. There was no objection at the time. We have tried to contact the customer and offer to put right any workmanship issues. To date, there has been no answer, and we are unaware of any issues before this review. Paul

“Mapdec built a Time ADH for me transferring parts that could be used from my ORRO and sourcing parts that were needed to complete the build all in all a superb experience well worth the journey from west yorkshire many thanks Paul and staff.”
