“3 out of the 5 were in the local area. It would be better if all were as they would be more familiar with the housing stock, conservation and planning department and likley to have done similar projects before. However the 3 in the local area are all offering competitive services and are booked for a visit. I am delighted with this.”

“I had an estimate from a local surveyor for a building survey, which seemed very high and the wait was four weeks. So I got onto the local surveyors direct site and found another company, White Horse, just as well qualified, much less expensive and half the waiting time to get it done. There were also good referrals for possible conveyancing solicitors, most of whom contacted me by email with quotes..so..very pleased indeed!”

“The structural engineers are reluctant to provide a correct report, as soon as they realise that another engineer has provided a false report and they do not wish to contradict their colleagues, even though the colleague had been false. I called one engineer and asked him only to measure a bulge in a wall. He asked me if I wanted a favour. I replied no, all I want is that you measure the wall and the dimensions of the bulge, that is a fact. I sent him photographs of the wall, in order that he provides an estimate, he did not send the estimate. Unfortunately all the structural engineers behaved in the same way. As I am not at all familiar with this way of working, I can not recommend any of them in your list. Many thanks”
