Our main business is helping home owners and home buyers make contact with Building Surveyors, Structural Engineers, Architects, Domestic Energy Assessors, Electricians, Drainage Contractors and other people providing property related services. In addition to domestic property we also provide a comprehensive range of services for commercial property. These services are provided over the whole of the United Kingdom by a comprehensive network of suppliers which has been steadily built up since the website first started operating in 2005.

“Of the five architect businesses listed I have received a contact from one only, which was a bit of a disappointment. However I have got back to that person /company and have had made an appointment for a survey to be carried out.”

“I was put through to the Local Surveyors Direct website by entering a request on the Home Owners Alliance website for potential surveyors for a property purchase. Having made my choice and having found the chosen surveyor's website I was able to arrange a survey very quickly over the phone. I was then contacted by 5 or 6 of the other potential surveyors listed by email or by phone as they sought my business. I think this should not happen. It is disturbing that they should have access to my contact details (especially phone number) and pester me when I have made my choice of surveyor. For that reason, although the service provided is useful and worked for me, I am not happy about the knock-on effect.”

“Good list of results with information and reviews. BUT THE HARRASSMENT?! All i've had is a bombardment of emails and telephones calls from potential suppliers. This is beyond annoying!”

“The issue I had was that I wanted quotes for a home buyers survey specifically and was contacted by surveyors who didn't do RICs accredited Home Buyers surveys. Which was a massive waste of my time.”

“Please define 'normal'! Does that equate to 'average'? If I remember correctly, our choices included a builder, planner and a couple of seemingly defunct links. Sorry not to be more helpful but I've done so much research it's just melded into a chunk of memory block!”

“I surfed the topic to get information for a forthcoming move to the area and looked at a couple of particular websites, what I did not need was the extra emails from businesses that were on the list. All it does is fill my inbox. If I want information from a particular website I will ask on that website. I am sure I am not alone in this view even if most people do not say so.”

“You have a good service, however within 1 minute I had been repeatedly contacted by half the surveyors on the list (via my mobile and emails) when this was just a price comparison exercise. It was embarrassing to turn people down and quite a lot of hassle. I would like to be given quotes and then opt to contact the surveyor I choose, rather than the other way around and my details handed out. It was quite a shock and not how comparison websites work in my experience.”

“I have left a telephone message with one surveyor and am awaiting response. The other three that have contacted me will be held in reserve meanwhile. Their responses were excellent. Thank you.”

“Electrician turned up on same day. He was helpful. He said he needed to order some items to do the job. He told us that he would contact us once the items have arrived but this has not happened yet. I have gave a rating as normal due to the fact he has not rang us to tell us when he will do the job or if the items have arrived.”
